When Bent came off yesterday he looked a bit pissed off too. Totally agree with you mate. We shouldn't be relying on loan players but I just thought on this particular game Gyan and Wellbeck upfront and Bent on the bench.

| That club never fails to disappoint in the comedy stakes dose it.
11th in league, easily promoted last year and still they think they should be doing better. I though a spell in the championship might have brought a bit of perspective to one of the most deluded clubs in British football, guess not.

| they deserve to go down now, the manager was doing a pretty good job with the team and him being sacked isnt going to go down well with the players, sol campbell has already spoken out about it - Quote :
- Newcastle defender Sol Campbell criticised the decision.
"This will hit the players hard," the former England centre-back told ESPN Soccernet. "The players admired him and liked him and won't be happy now he's gone like this.
"It makes no sense. Here is a guy who has done an unbelievable job. He got the club back into the Premier League and any manager would have been rewarded for that with a new contract, but Chris wasn't.
"The players are sure to be asking themselves 'what the hell is going on?', that is only natural.
"When we left training this morning none of the players had a clue this was coming. Yes, it has come as a shock, and it will affect the dressing room there is no doubt about that." id expect a couple of their bigger names to plucked up by bigger teams in january and them to go on some piss poor 15 game run that will seal their relegation

| but he they get o'neill or someone they will have a more experienced manager they can plan the next 5 years with, plus owner may spend a bit for a new man. But it's been handled really badly. It's been coming though. Dont know when he was contracted untill actually? QPR are supposed to be doing the same right, get promoted then get in someone to please owners? | |

| Jol has left Ajax by mutual consent, and since he wanted to return to Premiership with Fulham in the summer, could be likely he is heading to Newcastle.
Also Aston Villa played dreadful.

| we were saying he had unfinished business with spurs. Could do something similar at newcastle, but it would take time. My main problem is how can any manager get experience if they are not given the chance. Maybe owner thinks someone else would be able to lure better players and know who to buy to be successful in europe, but who says hughton would not if given a chance. Think it will come down to, with money a more recognised manager will be able to use it better. Whereas someone like hughton is seen more the man to get the best out of what he's got. | |

I'm also thinking this is close to the real reason Hughton was sacked. Ashley was always going to get rid but he knew it would look even more silly if he sacked the manager following their 5-1 win derby win or their draw with Chelsea. Don't know why O'Neill would consider going to Newcastle. He allegedly left Villa due to interference from the chairman, it's going to be the same story with Ashley sooner or later.

| was just an example of a bigger name that i could think of lol. Another point I was goin to make is, who the fuck would want to work for mike ashley, esp after this. I know someone wont take the job JUST for the money, but it sure as hell wont be for the CLUB. It will be personal pursuit | |

| he must have thought it was a wind up when he first was alerted to a possible deal. He has been a bit unlucky in his career, but i dont get why him over hughton. Jol, oneill etc acceptable but pardew over hughton? Hmm. In pardew's words 'he's raped him there' | |

| yeh it's harsh on Hughton, but Pardew will either earn his money over time or get it if fired right? so therefore he probably thought jackpot.
although the club who next get Hughton will be laughing hardest i think

| Pardew is good mates with some Newcastle executive, allegedly. They were talking about it on Sky Sports News this morning, apparently Pardew and the executive have regular casino meetings or something lol.
And a 5 year deal is a joke from a club who has been through 5 managers in 3 years. Fuck the Premier League, Newcastle have a better chance of winning the BAFTA for best sitcom.

Ashley's not that stupid, and that's coming from a mackem...
You don't think this contract might just have certain clauses in such as not getting relegated and shit like that?

| Maybe, but Hughton didn't look like getting Newcastle relegated. If Pardew was brought in to make sure that doesn't happen, then it could be counter-productive with Newcastle dropping valuable points while Pardew settles in. | |
