So where can you see youre team doing at best? and where realistically do you think theyl will finish?

Crofts is great, great goal and effort. Our defence was shit last night, our right back suffers from Otsemabor syndrome and our two centre backs are seemingly mute.

I reckon we'll be mid table at the end. Only five of the players that started were in team that played in the last game of last season so there has been a lot of change. Need a while to gel as a team and still have a couple players to come back from injury.

Crofts seems to be our best signing so I'm chuffed with him

He was marked out of the game, most of the balls through to him were in the air and he was being marked by a 6 foot 5 giant so there wasn't much he could do. Nice backheel to set up Crofts and some nice runs but was pretty average.

Yeah I don't think he can be judged off of that game, I think the whole defence looked devoid of confidence. I still think he will be a great signing although he did drop an easy cross which nearly resulted in another goal but I think it was just a one off.

And Hodge, i think results in the championship today showed how open this league is and there will be no out and out favourite in any game.

Done 3-1 by ipswich at home,i'm going to give the players the benefit of doubt for now and give them time to settle in.

Decent 2-2 home draw with Colchester.

i went, we played amazingly well for first 10 minutes, go one up, then conceded 2 in 3 minutes. Played okay, and notched an equaliser in the 87th minute. You could tell it was our strikers first game together, Nardiello had some decent touches but O'Flynn (from Barnet) looked a bit crap. Aside from them, Noble played the full 90 minutes, Ryan Harley was his usual awesome self, and Matty Taylor at the back was great.

As long as we get to mid-table obscurity this season, I don't care. Colchester looked a decent side, and they could be a good shout for the play-offs this year.

Ipswich next in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

Jackson hasn't scored for us yet so it would be a nice time to brake his dry spell.

Im going for a 3-1 win for us, the players will be out to impress after being so shit on Friday. Then again, we normally lose to League 2 opposition when we get them in the cups.

Yeah I went, you were actually pretty decent, we had superior fitness which paid off in the second half.

You looked dangerous at set peices, mainly due to Akinfenwa who is honestly the biggest player I've seen at Carrow Road. He hit the crossbar in the first half which would have made it 2-0. Other than that, you pressured us well and on that performance I wouldn't be surprised if you were in the playoffs at least. Just a few defencive mistakes which we took advantage off.

You definately played with heart and looked confident. Also good turn out from your fans, were pretty loud. Kids for a quid meant about 10000 13 year olds that didnt know any songs for us but some good banter between the Gills fans and a few of us.

Jackson didn't play due to 'gentlemens agreement' and Crofts was with the Wales squad.

for real ? theres a clause you cant ever play against us with him :S and crofts back with wales yay just need jason brown in there now.


as for akinfenwaa cant wait to see him at a game heard he is very intimidating.

Nah it was just for that one game that Jackson wouldn't play.

I wouldn't be too worried about your fitness, it was an end to end game against higher opposition so you were bound to tire especailly two games into the season.

To show how good Akinfenwa was, he was appaulded off by the Norwich fans when he was subbed, don't think many League 2 defenders will be able to get anywhere near him from set peices.

Hopefully go to a game soon just my only mate whos a gills fan isnt around here no more and dont want to go to a place like gillingham on my own .... thinking i may try and convert some glory hunters this year and or charlton fans
