Considering the "real" football fans have their own non-league thread, might as well have one for all us plastic fans

Cracking weekend (well, not for us...) but three six-nil's makes for good viewing.

Only caught a bit of the game and City looked good. Heard it here first, they are my dark horses for the title.

Goal of the season is probably already going to be Bale's screamer this weekend. Havent seen a goal like that in a long time.

Liverpool miss Alonso. That dope Benitez sold him and didn't replace him. That's why Liverpool have gone down hill since they came second. He sells good players and doesn't replace them.

Alonso was the heart of that midfield that year with Gerard being the soul. He never really brought any big name player in to replace him but he probably just wanted the money to free up debt or something like that.

More than likely with Americans on his back. Ah well doesn't bother me too much.

Impressed by City, kinda hoped they would be flat turds but they looked well committed tonight, such a big bunch of sods too.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. They'll do well up until Jan/Feb when they're leading league or in champions league spots. The mercenaries in their squad will decide they've won the league/ secured europe and they''ll stop bothering. They'll slip down the league and Mancini will get sacked.

They bought Aquilani ( who is a gifted player admittedly not on same standard as Alonso ) and shipped him out on loan to Juventus this year without getting a run in the Liverpool first 11.

League is over after 2 games according to most media and Sky.

I despise the hype of the premiership more and more every season.

Well a nice 4 hour journey to The Hawthorns. Wasn't a bad 1st half. 2nd half not worth commenting on. Nice 4 hour journey home. Bring on Man City.....

In the way that pundits are saying Chelsea/Utd fight for it and City will be chasing the Champions League.

I know what you mean, but anyone who spends that money can't be considered dark horses, dark horses are teams like Spurs in my opinion

It was impressive. Shay Given will struggle to get back in the side now after those two preformanes. I believe Mancini won't allow him out on loan either.

Spurs have the potential to do really well this season, thinking they can go one better than last year mabye. One thing about them is that they are very consistant.

RE Given - dont think he will be allowed either Mackem, if Hart gets injured then City wont have a top class keeper to take over in his place. Think the same happened last season when Given got a small injury and Hart was with Birmingham.

Thought we played well in fairness,weren't too impressed by your team in all fairness although you had a few players out,especially Turner and Mensah cos Bramble and Da Silva were awful against Odemwingie,he got in behind so many times he could have had more than the one he got.

And I get the best of both worlds,one year I'm a plastic fan the next year I'm a real fan,Brilliant!

Da Silva had the worst game i've seen from him. I thought he'd be uch better this season with him being over here a year. Still early days I suppose.

I think we have missed Turner (not that fussed on Mensah but he is better than most in the Sunderland back 4).
