Capello has been proven at club level, similar to Sven, I think international managment and club management are very different.

1st game was same as the crap friendlies, i thought atleast competitively we'd show the real capello's england and if this is it, fuck him

but as i say, IF it is. What happened to cardoza for paraguay? Heard them say about santa cruz not playing but what about the other big boy? Saw somethin on fifa scroll bar mention him last week, has there been a fall out

Capello is not similar to Sven in the slightest, Capello has been a roaring success in every job he has been in for the last 20

He won four out of five league titles with AC Milan including going a full season without defeat, he also hammered a very talented Barca side 4-0 in the final of the Champions League, he had two spells at Real Madrid 10 years apart winning the league twice in his only seasons in Spain, he went to Roma and helped them win the title, only the 3rd time in their history they actually managed it and the first time in about 12 years or so they won anything at all.

He spent two years at Juventus and they won the title in both those seasons

He won 9 of the 10 qualifying games to get England to the World Cup, is that not good enough for some people? should he have won the 10 should he?

He is more than just 'proven' at Club level, the guy is one of the most reliable managers in football and he is currently managing one of the most overrated country's in the World with unrealistic expectations placed upon it by fans who seem to believe they are better than they actually are and now have the nerve to put him under scrutiny before he has had a chance to even win you anything!

We're not talking about some novice here, we're talking about an absolute legend of management over the last 20 years and for anyone to doubt him is absolutely mental at best and ignorant at worse!

Sven Goran Eriksson was a good club manager but nowhere near Capello's league

I know all of that probably makes him one, if not the best, manager in history, but at a club level, he's with his players most days of the year, he has much more games, and he has a much more choice available because of transfers and not being limited to what England can produce.

I don't doubt his ability as a manager, I just don't think he'll be able to produce the same results at an international level, especially not with England.

I know we are shit, so will never slate someone for no reason, i liked sven too, i like capello which is why i got back into english international football, but something is not right, just have to see if he can sort them for fri. Who would with England though, they are an overrated shower of shite if your all being honest with yourselves, they can't pass the ball, they can barely keep it, not enough strikers, wingers who can't cross the road never mind a football, right back who can't defend, centre halves who have no pace, dodgy goalkeepers

Yet we are led to believe that this mob are actually good enough to win the thing, if England see the semi final they should get Knighthoods, thats how far away this team is

As for being able to produce the results

The guy has been in charge for 11 competitive games, he has won 9 of them, that and his track record demands patience and respect, if the English public can't show him that for four weeks that his tournament runs for then your lot don't deserve to win the thing!

A good manager is a difference maker, give him a chance to prove you right or wrong but give him a freaking chance either way, negative nonsense, no wonder he isn't going to give 'the fans' a press conference tomorrow!

England will win algeria and Slovenia. He will play Robert Green in goal for both games (which i agre with). Also i wanted Hart to start in goal for 1st game but no point dropping him as he needs to redeam (sp) himself. I would start Heskey with Rooney again. Its only the midfield i'm unsure of eather gerrard plays down the left and barry comes in or joe cole starts left sticking with lampard and Gerrard.

Take Germany, who people fancy a bit now, would you (if you were a club) take many of their players over ours?

Keepers: Very similar, there's are average and so are ours.

RB: Lahm probably quite a bit better than Johnson
LB: Cole Probably quite a bit better than Badstuber
CB: Friedrich and Mertesacker similar quality to Ferdinand and Terry in my opinion

He was being shit though, bug or not. I'm a huge Milner fan and want him at OT next year but he would have been sent off if he'd stayed on the pitch much longer.

I don't think England have better strikers than Germany, not International Strikers anyway, Rooney apart not another English striker would get in the German team, Klose has 49 goals for Germany, Podolski has 39, Gomes is into double figures (12 in about 16 starts), Cacau is averaging a goal every other game for Germany (think is 5 in 10)

Lampard has a cracking goalscoring record for England but so to does Schwinstiger for Germany, he has 21
Gerrard has what 17 goals for England, take a look at Ballack's record with Germany, the guy has 42 goals from midfield

I'd say Wayne Rooney, Ashley Cole and possibly Joe Cole are the only guys who would be a cert to get into the German side

In defence, I think Upson will play as he did in most of the qualifiers and i've read somewhere (maybe on this forum somwhere) that Capello should go with what he knows works. If thats the case then he knows Upson works as the qualifiers show.

As for the keeper, David James for experience would work but I think Capello has got Green as his number 1 in his mind, similar how he rates Heskey. Both players havent had the best seasons but are still playing. Capello believes in them.

That's my point though, Germany tend to be able to transform good club players into International stars, were almost like the opposite.

Star club players converted into average International players.

Heskey is in the team for a specific reason though to be fair, Heskey is there for Rooney, a goalkeeper is completely different in my opinion, they are there for themselves and they need to give the defence confidence, the defence is going to be further weakened due to King being injured, I just can't see past James for the next game

I don't think Green is his set in stone #1 if he was then he would have been told by now which he hasn't, Capello himself has stated he still doesn't know, for me thats an admission that he wont be playing

If he is playing you surely come out and back him and let him know he is your #1 and you have every faith in him and want everyone to recognise it, keeping it low key when the guy is screaming for a confidence boost doesn't seem the right way to go with this

I don't think there is a big secret to it, I just feel they are better players overall and they play to those players strengths, England don't do that and haven't played to there own strengths since Euro 96

I dont think england are aloud to play to thier strengths because of again the media cause if they dropped lampard for example the press would be on there backs
