ECW Title

Just a thought... i thiink the ecw title should b more like old hardcore title, defended 24/7 and in extreme rules matches

Also, dont like kane as champ, or big show as no1 contender. these guys should b gunning for WHC. really liked it when punk and chavo were ecw champs. give future stars the ecw title!!!

But today's WWE wrestlers already break like glass in regular matches. Think of the serieseses of injuries of the past years. Hardcore matches would pulverize most of the current roster!

Actually a little pulverization would solve the problem of overcrowded rosters... Bring forth the Barbed Wire.

Yeah, I agree that the ECW has lost most of its E. Seemingly the WWE thought nobody would notice if they substituted the hardcore wrestling with hardcore porn. And then they didn't even follow through on that! And now we are left with something that is neither porn nor wrestling.

more extreme matches...am sure they have plenty of upcomers to fill the ecw roster for injuries. ecw, could be what it used to be...a starting point for young stars... so they can give bck to the industry

If anyone happened to watch ECW this week they would have saw a show that was FAR SUPERIOR to anything RAW has produced recently

The best new talent in WWE are all on it, the stars of tomorrow getting their heels.
I do think that Kane & Big SHow should stay clear though.
For me the best champ on it in recent times.
John Morrison.
Easily a main eventer in the next few years.

It's going to be said over and over forever now. It's one of those opinions that have become popular to people who think they are "down" with wrestling for knowing this when really, the majority of people who say it actually know fuck all about the original ECW. It's a different product now, get over it.

simple way for everyone would be for them to think the E now stands for entertainment rather than Extreme.
Its two completely different products.

TThough did think it was funny that the PPV meant to be around ECW didnt even have the ECW champ on it.

While I cant deny Morrison was a great champ, Chavo for me was the best champ recently, although I am liking Kane being on it and The Big Show v Kane adds prestige to the title IMO

I would rename ECW

Yes Vince bought the rights and can do with them what he wishes, however I believe many simply do not watch it because of its association with its previous owner, and they don't see the bigger picture

I defy anyone to watch that show they put on this week and not admit it was good, if RAW could put on a show half as good as the one ECW just produced McMahon would not need to be bribing fans to watch it!

So while I have always defended the decision to name it ECW I think Vince maybe better off renaming it in order to get more viewers, they could still keep the title as the ECW title

It would have saved a lot of hassle if they did do that. At first though, it was heading in a hardcore-ish direction but they've obviously decided against that. Now its simply a good quality wrestling show. The lack of story lines and backstage segments is a good thing as we get plenty of that on the big two.

Lets keep our fingers crossed then that they don't expand the time slot ECW is on. Because I have the feeling that they don't do much storylines and backstage segments because they know they would have appr. 5 minutes left for an actual match if they did this kind of stuff the way they wanted to.

Exactly I like what they do with it, and I thought the way they went on Tuesday is the way to go, anytime there is a segment then let Teddy Long be in it with whoever he needs to talk with and when a guy needs mic time then let them commentate, I thought Kingston was very good this week, Miz and Morrison have been great and Punk looked comfortable on it as well

It's becoming a very good breeding ground for the younger people. I also think introducing Kane and Big Show is only going to increase interest in ECW and their experience has got to be helping the younger ones out. They'll learn a lot from these two. This is one part of the WWE going very well at the minute. Lets just hope the draft doesn't fuck things up for it.

I think the decision to swap it to raw instead of smackdown will only put these guys more in the spotlight.
Oh and good to see Sydal get some air time at last.

Hopefully. Somebody mentioned this before but it does look a little bit like Smackdown could become number three show. Unlikely but we'll see after the draft. Another scenario would be shifting some big names to Smackdown and letting some youth get action on Raw. I really don't know what they'll do, should be interesting.

I put foward the notion the other day that there will be a big shocker on the draft.

I think with Edge and HHH as champs at the moment they are primed to do a champ swap again.
Both need new rivals, they cant drag Edge into battles with Batista for how long more?
But Edge v Jericho or Edge v Jeff. Much more interesting.
And then when Taker returned it would be a rerun of Mania from several years back against Trips.

It had been banded about to HHH before for a move to Smackdown but he memorably quoted as 'I don't wrestle on a Tuesday'
But I think the length of time taken for the draft to come about has been the wranglings backstage on who is swapping to which show.
I belive the draft was meant to have taken place when the KOTR event happened as that got no prior hype but was down as a three hour show for months in American TV listings.
I think at the last minute HHH wasn't happy about the deal (which I've heard involved Taker going the over way) but they've since ironed it out.
Edge making the swap would also help HHH as he's another that Trips ain't bestest buds with backstage.
Him moving opens it up for the Raw stars to shine more without the usual of if the crowd like them they are forced to be squashed by Trips or Michaels within a few weeks.

lets also remember the Draft had left Edge on RAW before, it was only due to MITB Kennedy getting injured along with taker at the same time meant SD needed a new champion, which edge filled
