Haven't played a management game in ages. They are too slow for me. The last one I played was championship manager 00/01 and I played it for about 6 year.

So to answer your question, I havent a clue!

play to your strengths. I know some people download tactics to make it easy to win every game, but just experiment. If you have good wingers play a fast tempo and out wide. Buy a defender with good height and concentration to stop goals.

I found on a crewe game when I got a 6 foot 7 defender I barely conceded in the lower leagues, as alot of teams play long ball or just pump it in the box. Bolster team with loans and accept you will lose games. Form really counts too, as player attributes are nothing special, so drop your better players if they are shit and the ones who come in might really improve quickly.

Just preordered Football Manager 2013 and got beta access. A few good changes but not much difference from last year.

Ended up retiring in the year 2042 on the last one. I manged Luton, Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea, Blackburn, Nottingham Forest and then finally 14 years at Arsenal. I was top of the hall of the fame.

Now I'm starting all over again on the new one as Luton and not doing too well....

Cheers for the tip sexton

Last manager game was champ manager 03/04, seriously the best manager sim i have ever played

FM is so tactically based, but im enjoying it, picked up some decent players for my Brighton team, got veteran midfielder Stefano Fiore for cheap, some brazillian defender called Luizao who is pretty decent and just signed argentinian striker bernado romeo, hopefully he can chip in with some goals

In all likelihood I'm going to get FM 2013, I get them every year and actually prefer them to FIFA. I've never played as long as Fergie though! I last about 4/5 seasons and start again. How much did you pay for FM 2013?

Just bought it on steam, split the cost with my Dad and my brother. It's 29.99.
