Having a little bit of a problem with playing against shite teamsin this years Football Manager. My Notts County side finished 5th in their first season in the Premiership, I don't have any problems against the big teams, I always beat Man Utd and trade wins with the others. But when I come up against the likes of Burnley, Bolton and West Ham they seem to tear me apart. My assistant says we're too complacent against weaker sides, but how the fuck do I stop them being that way? Any ideas?

I've experienced this problem before, when you play teams that the AI considers weaker to your team, they will usually sit back and try to hit you on the counter attack. So i would suggest changing your current team role to "Control." Against the top teams I've used Control as well.

Ahhh yes i get this all the time , the only solution that seems to work for me is play wingbacks because like jack said theyll hit you on the counterattacck and more often than not thatll be on the wings so i normally play 3 centre backs and 2 wingbacks .

I'm in March with my Lyon team, got thumped 3-0 at home by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, drew 0-0 away to them. So that's me out.

Knocked out by St Ettienne 2-1 away, but this was unlucky because i didn't have a recognised striker as they were all on international duty. Had no subs either. Grr

On the bright side i lead at the top by 10 points, but alas St Ettienne have 3 games in hand on me which could cut it the gap to 1.

I actually managed to get around this issue a while ago, I was less harsh with my team talks, not saying 'I expect a win' even when I do, and playing less attacking until the opposition opens up a bit.

I'll have to have a look at that the next time i play. I've changed the tactics around, so i will see if that helps.

Didn't want to make a new thread but I have a completely new problem.

I've had hundreds of seasons, playing with Norwich at the moment, but with this team we leak a hideous amount of goals from corners and I haven't a clue how to stop it. Tried fiddling with my corner positions but no luck yet, my two centre backs are also aerial tanks so it ain't them.

Any cure would be superb!

dont over crowd your box. I usually leave 3 or 4 who are useless and just get in way up and man mark like tallest players forces then to leave atleast 3 back cos of defensive duty then, i guess, hope their strikers are not epic. I have always believed in not over crowding on corners so the ones who can defend them dont get into trouble by losing their man behind some hopeless winger trying to defend

just another thing on lower league games i float my attacking corners far post and just have everyone go far bar 1 near and 2 on the keeper, to draw out flappy keepers and get in their way lol.
