| hmm I have watched every game so far: this WC is not a patch on Germany 4 years ago. the stadia is just as good but the teams seem worse and the production looks terrible if games are not sold out | |

| 2002 was an okay world cup: the rise of ronaldinho and the revenge of ronaldo
but 06 was immense for me
the only thing i remember about 98 was the final as i was only 6

Well, I think you are wrong on both counts there. England aren't "wank" and I don't think we have "divine rights over the world", whatever the hell that means. I presume that means you think I think Eng-er-lund can batter Spain 10-0.

- To be fair our World Cup record isn't too much different from Spain's.
From 98, they were knocked out in Round 1, Quarter Final, Round of 16.
From 98, we were round of 16, Quarter Final and Quarter Final. And at least two were on pennas
Still, up the Kiwi's, love a last gasp goal, but still think all this confirms is that Italy + Paraguay are going through. And Spain are known as typical chokers, they have at least managed to win something lately though that backs up peoples claims that they could be contenders Also though Spain don't have as big an expectation on the National team because half the national side freely admit they don't class themselves as Spanish and consider themselves Basque

| I agree with Jac in that this World Cup is nowhere near the standard of 4 years ago at this stage. You had goals galore, good attacking and good defending. Not to mention no noise of vevulas or whatever they are called for 90 minutes. The stadia was perfect and the production from both ITV and BBC were second to none and miles better than this year. | |

| Okay fair enough I just think at the same stage 4 years ago that the German one was better, I hope I am wrong by the end of the tournament. | |
