Thought On Shane

Shane McMahon, He is the McMahon child that people have unanimously supported throughout his career. He’s a good guy, a people’s advocate, and his insane, but sometimes unnecessary bumps have created some of the most memorable moments in WWE history.

But, his days in the ring need to be in the past. There are so many reasons to stop booking Shane McMahon in matches, and one of the main reasons is that he doesn’t have to do it. We know, he wants to perform. But that shouldn’t be the reason why he does it.


Shane-O-Mac has so much to live for that quite frankly, he doesn’t need to put himself at risk. His match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania last year could have paralyzed him if the spot off the cell went differently. And, if that wasn’t enough of a risk to paralyze him just look at that crazy springboard spear he took from Roman Reigns at Survivor Series looked rough.

He is a father, has a great job With WWE in a non-wrestling role, and he’s a multimillionaire. During his years away from WWE, he did quite well for himself in China.

We understand booking him against the best in the world is one of the only ways to save his lack of in-ring ability at this point. But, sacrificing an AJ Styles match at WrestleMania just so you can put the boss’s son on the card doesn’t seem worth it.

Nobody can deny that it is fun to watch Shane McMahon climb up on things that are very high up in the air and jump onto people, or simply fall through something all by his lonesome.

has given us years of enjoyment and when he returned to television last year everyone was elated. But, if you really boil it down to brass tacks, what is the main reason Shane McMahon would put himself in a match at all?

Does he do it for the rush? The pride? The money? Longing for his father’s approval?

The fact is he doesn’t need to do it. Programming him with somebody in a more appropriate way could be extremely beneficial. Let Shane have someone represent him instead. If he’s going to have it out against AJ Styles in one way or another, bring someone in as his heavy hand (or Strong Style hand). If Shane wants to do a big spot at Mania, let him interfere and jump off of something high during a run-in for an idea.

But, AJ styles needs to face someone other than Shane McMahon at his second WrestleMania.

Let it be Nakamura, let it be anybody. They haven’t shown much interaction building toward WrestleMania 33 for Shane and AJ because The Phenomenal One has been preoccupied with the crazy WWE Championship storyline. But signs of McMahon vs. Styles will be likely.

A large oart ofmy problem withh Shane having a Mania spot is something that Steph touched on in the build-up to the Survivor Series match between team Raw and Smackdown. If SD is the home for opportunity and if you work hard and impress, then you get a chance. AJ at Mania is someone who could quite easily be in the main event, not just for SD but for the whole damned show. He deserves to be facing an Undertaker, a Brock, Cena, or if they're all spoken for, then someone who will gain from being in the ring with him - Corbin, for instance. Instead, it's Shane O'Mac - a guy who decided that when a spot opened on the SS team, he needed to fill it, instead of giving a shot to someone from the mid-card.

From a wrestling fan point of view, he's kinda shit at wrestling, if you take away the crazy stunts, he's offers virtually nothing. I still remember the time he single-handed destroyed Legacy in the run-up to Mania 25, and I've seen nothing since his return to convince me he'll do anything different here. His HIAC match year was terrible, aside from the crazy jump.

His return was unexpected and cool, but if he keeps getting into the ring for the big shows at the expense of the guys he purports to be pushing on SD, he's going to get very annoying, very quickly.

this is my point he doesn't need to wrestle and especially like you said taking opportunities away from other wrestlers that deserve it cos lets be honest AJ should be the main event of it all and should be nowhere near Shane

It's not great for AJ... Unless, of course, it is.

(bolstered by reports and opinions that mean AJ is the number one name on everyone's lips) we get a storyline that can do nothing but endear him to most fans watching - He currently deserves, earned and is entitled to two title shots in the storyline and now management is taking those chances away from him. On top of that he legit earned a WM main event with his work, and there's been continuous rumours he may not get that moment. That is a pretty good way to get everyone on his side securing him firmly as the most widely popular guy in WWE. Fans will form an even tighter bond with him and buy all his merch too.

It "could" be a bit like the Austin vs Mcmahon feud (a short term version) but AJ isn't out of favour because he swills beer and kicks everyone's ass without regard for rules. He's just not getting what he earned because Shane sticks his nose in.

I commented a while ago how Shane on TV was less likeable in the role, as if they had planted the seeds of him turning heel. At the time I thought it would come with Ambrose and the IC belt. Maybe it'll happen, maybe not, either way Shane brings more mainstream attention to AJ. And he does need more mainstream attention

I do still think AJ will get what he earned as well, and hopefully in a way that gets him as over as described too. And if by some holy Christ miracle he isn't in the main event, he's still going to dominate the next few years with a standing fit for his talent anyway. So even though it would really suck to not have that amazing Mania match this year, fans probably aren't going to be left short changed overall.

Think I figured it out Vince wants AJ on raw so bad that now frees him up to go to Raw as hes been fired so this was a way of getting him there earlier than the draft

He got fired for his actions by Bryan. They didn't have a chance to discuss it because Shane was on his way to hospital and was out of it. So as far as Shane was concerned all he knew or cared about was AJ moaning and then attacking him.

it's perfectly logical for that storyline. AJ wasn't moaning after he got fired he just walked off, you could see that getting fired was his intention, they even mentioned that this wasn't a spur of the moment attack, it was a calculated plan.

AJ is actually in a position of power as far as he sees it. They can go through with Bryan's decision, which leaves AJ free to leave (for any promotion, no less. Even though it would be Raw as his SD contract is as kayfabe as anything else. He is a wwe talent. But in a storyline he would be free to go anywhere)

And if Shane wants to fight him, AJ currently has no obligation to do so, unless the firing wasn't legally final obviously. But if they leave it as he is fired, AJ can make demands before agreeing to fight Shane.
