Alex Mcleish to Aston Villa? Out of all the managers I wouldn't of thought he would be on there hit list. I wasn't really suprised when he quit Birmingham.

I thought it was the obvious one to go for. Proven, local, scottish, can steal brum players.

I'm finding it quite funny that Lerner stayed away from McLaren because the fans didn't want him, but doesn't seem to mind the anti-McLeish graffitti at the training ground, the 500 fans protesting against the appointment at the ground this evening...

fair point that, but i think its mainly due to him rather than him coming from Brum, where as McLaren they argued against his record of being a wally, rather than his club record with Boro, Twente etc. Think he has only failed with a club at Wolfsburg?

I think it's more that McLeish has got Brum relegated twice, the second time after lashing out £40 million on them. Given the names linked with the job (benitez, Rijkaard was up there), just seems that Villa are hitting the panic button. Plus, as one guy said on Sky Sports News last night, they've had to give Houllier £5 million to pay him off, O'Neill got £2 million, plus the rumoured £5 million to Brum in compensation if they don't accept his resignation - that's 12 million, and most of Ashley Young's transfer fee in paying off managers.

Mark Hughes is allowed to talk to clubs tomorrow. Wonder where he goes as I don't think he'll be out of the game long.

Alan Pardew. The rumour I heard regarding his appointment to Newcastle is Pardew blew a shit load of money in one of Ashley's Casino's and owe's him quite a bit of money. Only way Ashley will guarentee getting his money back is giving him a job.

Regarding Mark Hughes. A return to Blackburn possibly as i can't see Steve Keen staying very long tbh.

Blackburn are one of my tips to drop next season. They fucked up royally by getting rid of Allardyce.

unless the wages he is supposed to be recieving arnt being paid to him at all, therefore doing the job for less, saving money that it would be if another manager, in effect getting his money back
