I like Umaga a lot, I think he has real potential, I'd rather he came back a big pissed off Samoan though, much in the same as Samoa Joe, he would be much better and have far more depth if that happened in my opinion

Its been a long time coming really. Its a gimmick that wont last forvever so adding that bit more depth to the character will defo give it something to run with. Future champ? only time will tell in the 'E' but i looks like theyre finally trying for it at least......cud be good!

i like Umaga i would like to see him World champion instead of being stuck on mid-card i think he could be a good world champion all he really needs is a manager to tell us what he's saying or they let him speak english i reckon he'll be a good heel champion

If they built him up right in the coming year's (in the same gimmick) he could be the next Kane, big monster that really put's anybody over who beat's him.

Umaga is the best big man in wrestling at the moment very strong and fast. He needs a manager if he is to become world champion. Hopefully the E bring back Armando Estrada.

It would have been great if he had kept Armando Alejando Estrada as his manager and was given a Yokozuna - Mr Fuji run in the main event. Obviously he isnt as big as Yoko, but he does has more talent, mainly due to the fact he isnt as big. And his new entrance theme isnt all that good.

im glad if him letting him talk is true, as without it he cant really establish himself at the top, as has been said on here, he is the best big man out there (i'd have him over the samoan lard-eating machine for sure)

I am a huge Umaga fan! Just has something about him and as someone has stated previously, he has a great move set (barring the thumb finisher! haha!) and great ability for his size!

Liking the idea of developing the character by letting him speak, would love him to stay intense though!

As for future champion - I hope so!

I seem to be in a minority here but i really don't rate Umaga. I think he's a bit predictable, not that entertaining and the Samoan Spike is a god-awful finisher. I think he's probably the weakest link around the SD! main event scene at the moment, although at least the feud he's having we haven't seen hundreds of times before.

I would say he is far more entertaining and has more depth to him than CM Punk to be honest, well, the CM Punk the WWE have unleashed on us anyway, Umaga I believe does need a knew finisher, the Spike could still be used as a secondary finisher, he has an absolutely sick super kick and a sick Samoan Drop, but I like his splash from the top rope, I think if he alters that into a diving headbutt it would be far more impressive than the Spike, which as has been said if applied correctly could seriously damage you

I much prefer watching CM Punk to Umaga at the moment. Maybe i'm slightly influenced by Punk's ROH days but i think once unleashed on the mic, Punk could really step up to the next level. I'm not the biggest fan of the 'Go to Sleep' as a finisher, i think it looks a bit weak but for me i find Punk more exciting and i don't really see a problem with his depth. I appreciate Umaga's agility and mobility as a big man but i just don't find him entertaining especially in comparison to Punk.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree with this, I'm a huge fan of CM Punk's ROH work, I thought it was brilliant however in the WWE all his moves are just kick after kick with the occasional punch, he does very little actual moves which made him great to watch in ROH and I can't stand his GTS either, he also comes across to nerdy when he does talk or when he is in the ring with other promo guys, he just doesn't have any presence for me

For the record I'd be happy to see Punk more ROH like, thats what frustrates me with him though, and I know its not his fault either, I'm hoping that away from Triple H he might be allowed to do more moves including that Pepsi Plunge, although I'd be happy with the Anaconda Vince

I wouldnt like to see Umanga do superkick as his finisher, as HBK already does it, as well as the fact the Samoan Spike is a unique finisher. It might not be the best looking, but its good for his character.

I would like Umaga a lot better if he stopped the screaming samoan stuff. If he did "find himself" or something and he begins his nation of violence.

Suspect

Anyway, it was weird hearing umaga speak, the way they did it though seemed like how everyone had already agreed they should on here, having it seem like he could always be fluent in english, just he chose not to waste his breath on people, instead would just destroy them.

Thing is he obviously has an american accent, so it was like it was dubbed. His voice sounds totally differant to his shouting because that its very over the top. In time think we'll get used to it though, atleast it was a heel sounding voice and he wasnt posh or retarded pirat

Allowing Umaga to speak english for the first time could be a sign that he will get a world title run in the next few months.

I can see him becoming WC too at some point in the next year, i gotta feeling he's gonna challenge Punk to a match for the briefcase. if not then possibly get a good run with the IC title until next year where he wins MITB

I hate that Umanga cut a promo, the premise of his character was his savageness, now he has spoken it takes a lot away. They should have got a talker for him, like Armando Alejandro Estrada.

I agree that him speaking doesn't suit, it defeats the whole savage gimmic, would have been better if they had a translator.

but now he can prove he just turns the savage beast on when he needs to, when in the arena.

No point in keeping pretending he is a caged beasty who is contracted to a major corperation who flies all over the world performing.

he kept all his attitude, but proved he is wiser than people think.

He will keep his war cries but now be able to actually advance in the wwe by showing he has knowledge of what he is doing.

people would get bored of a beast just appearing in title matches when the gimmick would suggest he doesnt know what winning a belt would mean.

Suppose thats one way of looking at it. I just thought with Umanga, it would have been better to keep him like he was. Maybe he could have got a Samoan HOF as his manager, but majority on here seem to think its the right thing to do, having him speak. If he does it rarely, I think it could work very well.
