PostSubject: The Umaga Factor!   The Umaga Factor! EmptySun Dec 14, 2008 2:23 pm

Plenty of people on either side of the pond had belief that this guy could be a World Champion in the WWE, many have said a slight gimmick change or a manager was all that he really needed, I was never so sure although definitely thought he was a better choice than some who have got to hold the gold at certain points.

Now I think if Umaga comes back as the same type of character who left then I can't see him main eventing much let alone given the big strap however I do think coming back to SmackDown! and dominating would be a good start, they could use his lack of the English language as a reason for the World Champion to keep ducking out of facing him (although that would need to be a heel champion)

He could then just turn up on ECW and basically win the ECW title, I think if he is ever going to be pushed as a serious main eventer now then he has to start with the ECW strap, I doubt he will have much momentum when he comes back, so a decent return and a good comeback will build him up nicely, but obviously there will be other guys in the main event scene.

So having Umaga just randomly turning up on ECW looking slightly confused and bewildered before just squashing the World Champion would be an excellent way to get him back as a serious contender, a good few months on both shows before dropping the title in some form of gimmick match would be a good way to have him drop the title without making him look weak (like putting himself through a table in order to inflict more pain on his opponent without actually realising it will cost him the match)

ECW would be a great place for Umaga to wrestle IMO

I don't think a complete re-vamp of his character would really work without him starting from the bottom of the pile again, despite that I think a lot of changes could be done.

When he returns, he needs to have a manager, I think that a character like that screams out for a manager to increase his overness, and means that he something to control the monster outside of the ring.

He think a new finisher is still in need of, something similar to the Samoan Drop will do, it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something that looks strong, and isn't as silly as the Samoan Spike.

I like the idea of a run on ECW, and a short run with the ECW Title. After that I want him to be in a feud with 'Taker, maybe in the lead up to WM 25, beating 'Taker at every PPV until he faces him in a Casket Match at WM. ' Taker wins, but after the match, Umaga puts his fist through the casket and beats down 'Taker. I think that could get him seriously over as a main eventer.

The thing is though, if done properly the Samoan Spike would actually kill you

I agree though, I'd like to see him use another finisher, possibly a head butt from the top rope

We'll probably never see a diving headbutt on TV again. Vince is probably still scared of backlash from Benoit.
The spike is good, it's just doesn't look menacing enough for my liking. Perhaps a running powerbomb or something.

A running Powerbomb would totally kill Batistas move so I doubt that!

As for not seeing a Diving headbutt, we see the cross face all the time now, and Jim Ross has just had a rant in his latest blog about not holding off moves Beniot performed!

I associate a diving headbutt with the wild Samoans not the child killer

"It was later revealed that this move may not only cause spinal problems, but may also cause brain damage. The brain damage found in the brain of Chris Benoit has been attributed to the move."
-As referred to the diving headbutt.

We have seen Umaga using the headbutt from the second rope though, so that would suggest the E are not exactly against it

Also Chris Beniot's Brain Damage was due to years of steriod abuse as well as plenty of other bumps, anyway, Beniot never really hit his head hard on opponents, its not real Wink shooooosh though, don't tell anyone

I agree with the fact umaga should come back and dominate. When he first entered WWE he was vinces bitch and took anyone out he was told to. He should do that again and then maybe get into a feud with either Kane or Taker, as long as its done right.
