Lance Hoyt signs with WWE

At Sunday's Professional Championship Wrestling event in Arlington, Texas, former TNA performer Lance (Rock) Hoyt announced that he had signed a WWE deal. Hoyt trained with PCW. The promotion aired a tribute video for him at the end of the show as all of the wrestlers gave Hoyt a farewell celebration.

I think thats a really good move, he could either be involved in a new tag team or he could beef up the mid card, not a guy I see making it in the main event but he certainly could be a very entertaining mid card talent

Ugh! Hoyt is a complete waste of space. I was glad when TNA chucked him, and was expecting him to disappear for good. But I guess Vince's big man fetish has come into play once again.

Yeah, Jimmy Rave is quality, he's back in ROH now in a new version of The Embassy faction. WWE decided to sign the big useless one instead. TNA tried for years to push Hoyt as the next big thing, but nobody was buying it, don't think they'll buy it in WWE either.

I lost interest when I saw him coming to the ring smoking and stuff, no really a fan of having guys do that as part of a gimmick

Worked pretty well for The Sandman though, I was pissed off when WWE stopped him doing that.

I hated the Sandman, he was truly God awful

Yeah he was utterly useless, but his gimmick more than made up for it. He was like an extreme Stone Cold, before there even was a Stone Cold. Also, seeing his attempt at a swanton is just awesome.

While I did think he was awful I do think Austin picked up a few things from the Sandman character when he spent a bit of time in ECW so credit where it was due in that respect, its the same with the catchphrase though Austin 3:16, Bubba Ray Dudley was using that in late 95
