NIGHT ONE!
Before the show they had a 'press conference' to show off the new look title's, Tag, Open Weight and Heavy Weight title's, and to have the champion's and challenger's talk abit of trash, the bWo (Blue Meanie and Hollywood Nova) taking on the champion's, Project Ego (Kris Travis and Martin Kirby), Lionheart booked in a one on one vs. Johnny Moss (which later, after a threat of court action would include Dave Moralez), and the main event, Martin Stone would take on the reigning World Champ, 'Sterling'James Keenan, after abit of trash talking, Keenan and Stone would start brawling before quickly getting spilt up by the 1PW security.
First match of the actual show was a 3 way dance with Jerry Lynn, Kid Kash and Nunzio/ Guido. The crowd was 100% behind Lynn, who looked great, really performed well. Kash did the heel thing, the crowd throwing steriod chant's his way which was funny. Guido would be eliminated first via a brain buster from Kash, which would lead to the cradle piledriver on Kash for the win.
Next match was Doug Williams vs Zach Sabre Jr. I was really impressed by Zach Sabre, a small guy, nothing to him, but he can fly AND wrestle pretty good. It was a very technical match, the crowd was more on williams' side, and he finnaly came home with the win.
bWo vs Project Ego for the World Tag Titles. bWo came out to a Mad Man Manson welcoming, Big Stevie Cool made an appearence 'via satelite'. Manson interveiwed the 2 live member's in the ring about their upcoming match. Manson leaves the ring and the music of Project Ego play's, only to turn into a medley of the original nWo music, and out come the eWo (more of a parody of bWo then nWo) with the two brit's coming out with a meanie look a like, only much bigger lol. A good back and forth match, played out for the crowd, included a dance off, but would end when the big guy in Ego's corner threw the belt to Kirby and smashes Nova with it behind the ref's back.
After the match, Kevin Thorne came out and threw Kris Travis off the stage which looked... fun lol. There's rumour's on the UKFF forum that Thorn threw Trav because of something Trav wrote on the net???
Openweight title match. The Champ, Johnny Moss vs. Lionheart, which was turned into a triple threat with Dave Moralez. Lionheart seemed to be the all round crowd fave. Every body had his shirts on, he was getting the best reaction from the crowd, which tbh really made the event. Moss would retain his title.
INTERMISSION
After intermision it was announced that Bret 'The Hitman' Hart would be at their July 11th show in sheffield.
Next was the Dream Rush Tournament Final, featuring El Ligero vs. 'Dark Side' James Gallagher, was a decent match which Gallagher dominating throughout much to take the win, after the match he took shot's at British Welterweight Champion Kell Brook, and British Light-middleweight Champion Ryan Rhodes, which they responded by taking a swipe at Gallagher, ofcourse security interveened.
Nigel McGuiness vs Too Cold Scorpio for a title shot on night 2. Pretty good match, was a big reason I was there to see the ROH champ in action, that was before he lost it though... Scorpio was working on McGuiness' arm through much of the match. McGuiness picked up the win and the title shot of his choosing on night 2, with his Tower of London.
Next was an Icon vs. Icon match, Ulf Herman the Flaming German (1PW icon (was in ECW in around '98-'99)) vs. The Sandman (ECW icon), was a highlight of the night having Sandman brush up the side of me while I had my fone in his face lol. started off as you'd think, slow, I saw Sandman during intermission and he looked pissed already. About 5 minutes in, Bad Bones made an appearance and made it a triple threat, before being joined by Ice Man. Ice Man and Bones made their way through the front row, swinging chair's at each other, while Sandman and Ulf continued in the ring, untill 'The Rockstar' Spud came down and included HIMSELF in the match, which lead to Sandman and Ulf both taking a shot at him, knocking him down to the floor, before Ulf picked up the win.
And finally the main event of the evening, the 1PW World Heavyweight title match, the champion for a year and half, 'Sterling' James Keenan w/ G Man vs. Martin Stone. G Man mostly talking shit to the crowd. But did it well. Tries to interfere to get ran off from the ring side and through the crowd by Stone. After a decent match, Stone picked up the win and the new look 1PW title with it. As he celebrated he was joined by Doug Williams and others, as he thanked the crowd ploclaiming he's "Brought the 1PW Championship back to England.
Good show, enjoyed every minute of it...

Night 2
Started with an announcement, Zebra Kid who was booked to face Kid Kash had been injured from a match he wrestled the night before. More on that later...
Martin Stone talking about his win the night before, and how he's a 'fighting champion', which ofcourse has the man, who is owed a title shot of his choosing from his win the night before, Nigel McGuiness, to make his way out to the ring. After batting the idea of a world title match for the night, Nigel say's that he dont wanna beat Stone for the title when he's not 100% after the match the night before, which he reply's by saying that he dont wanna lose to Stone when he's not 100%. After a while of bantering, McGuiness say's it will happen, just not tonight as he's challenging Johnny Moss for the 1PW Openweight belt, they shake hand's and Nigel leaves. The music of SJK Sterling James Keenan, the former 1PW champion, play's and he come's out once again with G-Man (I got a little gimp chant started for him ), and he envokes his rematch...
Martin Stone vs. 'Sterling' James Keenan for the 1PW Heavyweight Championship. A pretty short match, Stone dominating through much. The finish was, Stone just dropped Keenan, G-Man came up to the ring with a chair in hand to hit Stone, who saw him and took the chair off the gimp, and hit SJK round the head with it before pinning for the 3 count. Afterward's, SJK walked around ring side threatening various fan's before blaiming G-Man for the losses over the weekend, and getting rid of his company. G-Man thought it was a rib, a joke and tried to hug SJK, who bitch slapped the taste out of his mouth. Good match, great promo's before and after. Kicked night two off really well.
Next up was a European Death Match, Ulf Herman 'The Flaming German' did his spitting fire trick, he was up against Ice Man, Bad Bones and 'The Rockstar' Spud. Spud is a really small dude, something like 5'4, looked abit like Bryan Kendrick, only in a david Bowie get up, and ass you guessed, he was mainly used to throw around most of the match. One sick spot came when Spud got some railing's from under the ring and propped it between the ring and the railing's outside, only to get thrown into it. Ice Man was ready to jump from the top rope to the barrier with Spud on it, only to get thrown off, and through the propper railing's, by Bad Bones, narrowlly missing Spud. Ulf would pick up the win after catching an attempted dive from Spud, and chokeslamming him for the 3.
Next up, Guido and Dark Side vs. Nova and El Ligero, Dark Side had been impressive all weekend. As had Ligero, with his Luche style. Guido and Dark Side dominated most, to pick up the win, after the match Nova got on the mic and stated that was his last match in the UK, to which the crowd embraced him for.
The next match was one of the funniest thing's Ive seen in a wrestling ring, Mad Man Manson vs The Blue Meanie. Started with alot of belly rubbing on each other? AND the ref... Just mainly a comedy match, at one point Manson super-wedgied Meanie, then threw the under cracker's to the ref, was quite funny. Ended with Meanie taking the win.
Just before intermission was the 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Zack Sabre Jr. Very technical match again, Sabre is defo one to watch, ROH fan's think Jigsaw, just a little shorter. Not to sell Scorpio short either though, he still moved as good as ever! Scorpio picked up the win.
After that match the Prophet's of Liberty (I have no idea either lol), a group waging a war on arab steriotype's, very steriotypically too. They were trying to blag Scorpio in joining them, saying he has been victim to steriotyping in wrestling, mainly WCW, and WWF were he was a pimp. And the only place he could be himself was in ECW. They put out an invitation to join their group, saying that he dont have to pretend to do all the steriotypical black guy thing's, like pimp hoe's, smoke weed wtc... To which he replied "I do like smoking weed!" After a long promo back and forth, Scorpio declined, to which the 3 member's of the Prophet's started a beat down, only for Sabre, who was still in the ring recoiling after the match, made the save and the two discarded the group to the outside, where they proclaimed it wasn't over, Scorpio... The segment was great, and after the match it really helped put both the guy's over.
After intermission, an announcement was made, returning to the 1PW ring was one half of Team SHAG, Colt Cabana! On July 11th at the Sheffield Ice Area.
Next, Jerry Lynn vs Doug Williams, where they announced Lynn as the NEW ROH World Champion, which they didn't do the night before? Any way... This was one of the best matches of the night, both guy's were great, but Im really warming to Doug, I cant see why they didn't use him right in TNA, he's twice the gladiator as that fake gladiator, Brutus Magnus. After many attempt's at the Chaos Theory (rolling German suplex), Lynn came on top with his Cradle Piledriver. It was to be expected that Lynn would win, after introducing him as the ROH Champion. Good show non the less, and as I said, Doug is fuckin' brutal!
Next up was Project Ego's Martin Kirby defending the tag belt's on his own after the attack from Thorn the night before on his partner, Kris Travis. He was up against Dave Moralez, and his partner for the night, Kevin Thorn. Kirby said Project Ego were fighting champion's, so it went on, one on two. Kirby got batted back and forth between the two opponent's, barely getting a shot in. Untill Lionheart make's the save and become's his partner for the defense, which would lead to Kirby getting the 3. While Lionheart chased Moralez through the crowd, Kirby, still realing from the pasting he took, stumbled across the ring, to where Thorn was waiting, and proceeded to spit blood in Kirby's face and start a beat down, just as he was going for a crucifix bomb, Kris Travis came out, bandaged arm, rib's and looking non too well, began hurling expletive's to Thorn, setting up a match on July 11th, Project Ego vs. thorn and a partner of his choice. Good match, great promo at the end.
Has any one seen what a filthy mouth that Kid Kash has on him? He come's out, really got in the face of many around ring side, he was saying the usual foriegn heel stuff, and how he comes over and some one feigns a back injury to avoid facing him. Some guy comes from the back to calm thing's down, to tell Kash he dont run 1PW, only to end up stuttering for Kash to brush him off. Then a familiar theme music play's, Sandman make's his way through the crowd a few time's, accompanied by this young stunner in a red England shirt. After a slow start to the match, mainly Kash still playing the heel, trying to get at the stunner Sandman brought with him, as well as this blonde peice who had been sat next to the announcer's the whole show. He even ripped a young la's Sandman sign up, went to punch another young kid, who fled up to the other side of the room, he generated much heat for this, but sandman was only bothered bout his beotch. After much of the match being like this, he finnally goes for the blondie, throw's her down and grab's the ring bell to make his way back in the ring, to which the blondie run's over and take's the bell and ring's in round his head, for Sandman to take the win. after ward's, sandman grab's his chick, take's the England shirt off and pour's beer down her a sup's it off her tit's, though lacking in the tit area, she was pretty fine!!! Sandman, barely walk but still did good.
Next up, the Main Event of night two of To The Extreme!
Nigel McGuiness vs. Johnny Moss for the 1PW Openweight Championship. After his win last night, McGuiness chose the Openweight belt. After a very back and forth match, crowd very much split over their faves, McGuiness would prevail with the London Dungeon submittion hold. Rumour's on the 1PW fan forum sugest that Nigel is to finish with ROH soon and thus competing full time in 1PW, hence why he was given a run with a belt, with possible shot at the 1PW Heavyweight Championship.
Overall a very good weekend, and the best part of it was being a part of the crowd, who were a part of the over all show. Listening to some of the fan's, they loved every minute of it too, though admittingley the second night was the better of the two, with a few die hard 1PW fan's being a little disapointed with the first.
The crowd was brillaint both night's, a few guy's picked up on a lad dressed as a pirate on night one, in the front row, and proceeded to mock the shit outta him, he came back the second night to much of the same, despite not being dressed as a pirate on that night, was still pretty funny.
Had a chance to see Nigel McGuiness, shake his hand, Kid Kash was another highlight, he was brilliant, if going abit far at time's, but it was pure heat he had on him. The BWO were great both night's, as was Jerry Lynn, Ulf Herman, 2 Cold Scorpio, SJK, and ofcourse the Brit's, Martin Stone (funnily the FIRST British 1PW Champion?), Doug Williams was one of the best of both night's, Project Ego, Mad Man Manson was absolutley mental, Zack Sabre Jr, Dark Side James Gallagher, El Ligero, it was a blast. Have to husstle up some coin for the July 11th show in Shef!

Sounds like a cracking show there.
And looks like Zach Sabre is the one to watch?
You mentioned in your article about Doug Williams not being used correctly. Give it a few months as Dixie Carter wants to start an all-British stable and Brutus and Doug Williams are going to be in it and I reckon he'll do better then.

Top class review their MaFish, whats your personal opinion on Martin Stone?
I've heard rave reviews about him although my actual knowledge on him is severely limited, what kind of character is he and does he remind you of anyone?

Stone has a lot of similarities to McGuiness, both use the Tower of London, though Stone call's it London Bridge. He had good chemistry with SJK. A stocky guy who can throw a good suplex, that's all I can describe him as, he can get the crowd going well. Like a Perry Saturn, or even a Samoa Joe, great brawler, a great technical wrestler aswell.
Zach Sabre Jr. was a biiiig suprise to say the least, he look's like one of those emo kid's, mop hair and that, but when he got into the ring... But if there was one thing that would hold him back it's his charactor, he didn't say a word to crowd through out, he's just being marketed as what he is, a great wrestler, no gimmick, he just went out there and did what he came for- which is all great for me, but he would need to start building a charactor up, even just to try and get the crowd going abit, then he would be going all the way to the top.
On contrast, Darkside had that little that Sabre didn't, he was heel and he got the crowd riled up nicely, by just trying to get them to chant his name, wouldn't suprise me if one of the US indies hadn't tried to snatch him up before. He really worked a good charactor.
About the stable, I dont think theres room in TNA at the moment, not for a stable made up of lower card talent, not with the 'Mafia around, it would just eclipse the new stable, maybe if they start up as a tag team first, but is Doug still signed to TNA? As far as I knew he was still signed after the X Cup last year, but never used. TNA just dont wanna build up a brit to make it past mid card, but Doug would go all the way given the chance. And Brutus, he really hasn't been looking too impressive to me, but I said that about Doug in TNA (granted he was never given the chance to squash any body like Brutus has).

Yeah Doug is still under contract, but has to work for other companies too since he hasn't really been used since signing. He's a great wrestler and would hope to see him sometime soon, if built up I think he could have cracking matches with the likes of Angle & Joe. Brutus Magnus on the other hand is terrible, but I just read an interview that Jarrett did with The Sun, and he's really puting over Magnus which worries me.

I would imagine Doug and Joe having a beast of a match, would be epic if it happened in the indies too. I can see why Brutus has been picked up, he's a big mo'fo', taller than Doug going by look's, had the Gladiator background, which would be a major put off for me booking him, but they've ran with that as a gimmick. If he's put in charge of a group like this, it's not gonna get very far. Even Matt Morgan looked more impressive than Brutus when he debuted, and that's a guy I cant buy into.
I can see it coming into effect after the X Cup if they have one this year, having a debuting Team GB and having them stick around, like Bashir from last year's tourny. But who would make up Team GB?

Yeah that would make sense, would pretty much have to dominate the X-Cup to give a good reason to stick around afterwards too. No idea who else they would bring in, if McGuinness' contract is up by then and he's recovered from his injury then he'd be possible, Paul Burchill if he's given the boot by WWE by then, and maybe Hade Vansen? I'd definitely look into the possibility of bringing in Pac too, would be perfect for some of the spotfests in the X-Cup

Yeah I was thinking Doug Williams, Brutus Magnus (just because he's already with the company getting a decent push), Nigel McGuiness (I can see him leaving ROH very soon, as you say his contract is up soon, having him lose the title maybe was more than a result of his arm injury?), and I was stuck for a fourth, a Brit working the US indies, but I agree Pac would add to the mix nicely, that bit of high flying.

British faction have arrived in TNA now, and so far it has Brutus, Williams and Rob Terry (I hadn't heard of the latter). The faction team members which you mention above would be brilliant, but depends how far they're willing to push it.
And Brutus is being pushed as it was the idea of Dixie Carter and she really wnats it pushed as something brilliant :-)

Terry's name didn't ring a bell with me, but a quick look on wikipedia shows that he's Welsh, and formerly in WWE developmental. I haven't seen this weeks Impact yet, but the fact that he's formerly a part of FCW doesn't fill me with much hope for his abilities. Then again maybe he was released by them because he didn't fit the generic mould of WWE's developmental prospects.

Yeah that's my thoughts exactly MaFish. They really needed a fairly well known name to give this group any chance, or at the least a bunch of guys who could get over through the sheer greatness of their wrestling. With Magnus and Terry I don't think we're going to get that. Williams I'm more than happy with, but with Magnus as the leader of the group he still might not really get his chance to shine.
