TRIPLE H vs RANDY ORTON:

How can this pan out?



Last week on Monday Night RAW, Randy Orton used his promo to remind everyone that he could use his Royal Rumble win to challenge for not only the WHC title, also the WWE title, added to that the feud he has going currently with the McMahons and Stephanies 'phone call' the other night, the signs are in place to have Orton vs Triple H as the big feud of the year in 2009.

No Way Out: Triple H regains the WWE title from Edge and I expect Randy Orton to well and truly go over Shane McMahon.

Monday Night RAW: Randy Orton comes out and 'shoots' on the WHC title and says while its a good title its not the WWE World Title, he considers that strap to be the holy grail of this business and thats the title he will be challenging for at WrestleMania XXV

JOHN CENA vs SHAWN MICHAELS vs JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD

How can this pan out?



Shawn Michaels has been in all most enjoyable angles over the past year, Ric Flair, Batista, Chris Jericho and now JBL and everyone of them have been enjoyable, for me though the angle with JBL had the greatest potential because it had HBK acting in a heelish manor, something that is Must See TV however I feel like they are putting this to bed rather to quickly, what I would like to see is Michaels associated with JBL for at least another couple of months because this angle still has the potential to go up another couple of levels.

No Way Out: John Cena will be victorious in probably the most obvious Elimination Chamber Match of all time, only Chris Jericho is a realistic alternative however with the WWE already setting his WrestleMania feud in motion its killed off any hope of a surprise, I would also like to see JBL go over Shawn Michaels although I doubt he will pin him, I think Michaels is more likely to be DQ'ed if he does lose, Michaels is looking like a man who is about to snap, if he does on Sunday then its good news all round at least for now.

Monday Night RAW:Stephanie McMahon announces that if anyone can beat Randy Orton tonight she will make them the No.1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, JBL promises to Steph that he will have her smiling by the end of the night.

This RAW would kinda be like the Randy Orton show, with him announcing he wants to go after the WWE title and I would have him in three matches, first CM Punk would challenge him and lose, then John Cena would call him out, claim that the real world champion would prove he is better than Orton, however with major help from Legacy Orton would beat Cena, then Steph bans Legacy from ringside for the final match of the night, JBL comes out with Orton already in the ring, he gets out his limo and announces Shawn Michaels will be wrestling for him tonight and after a back and forth match Michaels beats Orton, JBL gets on the mic and thanks Michaels for doing his work for him and that he will be taking HBK's place in the main event at WrestleMania, Stephanie McMahon comes out and says while she appreciates her deal with JBL, Shawn Michaels was the man to beat Orton, so he will join John Cena and JBL in the main event at WrestleMania for the World Heavyweight Championship.

So where does this leave Edge?



I think this could mean Edge winning the MITB match at WrestleMania, while I apreciate he has held it twice before it fits his character perfectly and I believe he could be on his way to RAW and while he doesn't need to go in the draft he could cash it in after the draft at say Backlash on either Triple H or Orton (Whose possible power struggle programme doesn't need a title)

Probs missed a few but a few of them will be in it for sure.

I still think the MITB needs star power in it, its alright to prorel guys from mid card to main event however I think if its a chance to win a contract for a title match then you would expect most guys to want to be in it (kayfabe terms)

Personally, I would have a Four Man MITB this year with Jeff, Matt Edge and Christian, however I don't think Christian will be in it, I feel he will be in a match for the ECW title at Mania with Swagger

A four way MITB match really sounds a good idea between those as it brings back all the memories of the old TLC classics but with a twist.
But as you say it ain't going to happen.
More than likely Christian will be in the opener with Swagger for the ECW title.

The 8 you pick are probably the best guys to be in it but it leaves a few gaps for others (Miz, Dibiase) you then won't get to appear.
Is there time you reckon for Miz/Morrison to turn face? It always takes a lot longer for a face turn than a heel one (unless they use a lay off to wipe peoples memories) but them v Dibiase/Rhodes would be a great tag match for Mania.

Well I think John Morrison is a potential winner this year, thats why I think he will be in it.

I'd like to see how they would work The Miz & Morrison partnership, I would like to see them play a 'better than you/jealousy' angle between the two yet still keep them together, like better the devil you know!

As for DiBiase, I think we might see him in a programme with CM Punk by the time Mania comes around

Morrison is being heavily touted as the winner which I'd be more than happy with. The only problem is Miz then gets brushed at Mania and beyond.

Thats why I would keep them together, I don't see any need to split them up, have them hang out, back each other up, accompany each other down to the ring and tag occasionally, they have to much chemistry to split up, and I don't see why either would anyway, they are the hottest either has ever been

For the record I don't think Morrison will win it, but if they do decide to go with an underdog then I think he will be it

Another good article. While I think all 3 of these matches are logical, I would prefer to see different matches.

I would have Edge vs HHH for the WWE Championship. Obviously this means HHH would win the Smackdown Elimination Chamber and Edge using his rematch clause at Wrestlemania. I would have Edge retain the belt. HHH is about to hit the Pedigree when the lights go out and when they return, HHH is laid out in the middle of the ring and Edge waits for HHH to get up before hitting a Spear and making the cover. After Edge has left the ring, the lights go out yet again and when they return, Taker is standing at the top of the ramp staring at a shocked Triple H.

I would then have Cena vs Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton wins the WHC after using the title match he won at the Royal Rumble at No Way Out after the Elimination Chamber which Cena won. Cena then uses his rematch clause for Mania and retains the belt after help from the McMahons and Stone Cold. It would be revealed that Stone Cold was the man on the phone that Stephanie was talking to. This then paves the way for Orton to move to Smackdown in the Draft and have a feud with Edge saying that he is getting far away from the McMahons and RAW as possible.

The MITB would be won by MVP who would be up against Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, John Morrison, Miz, Carlito, Kane and Rey Mysterio.

Christian would also win the ECW Championship beating Jack Swagger before being moved to RAW in the Draft. This then leaves the ECW title vacant and a tournament is held on the next ECW with the winner being a returning Evan Bourne.

Don't think they would hold the ECW title up though, while it would be logical to do that they didn't do it last year when Kane got drafted with the strap

I don't think they would have another match after the Chamber, I think once its lowered it gets dismantled due to saftey issues after the beating it takes during the matches, also, if the WM main event would just be the same anyway what would be the point in having a quicky a few weeks earlier? also the match needs to be a sanctioned match, the Rumble win is not like a MITB match

In kayfabe, why would Austin help the McMahons when they made his life a misery?

I don't think this would help Orton at all, he has been the one threatening the McMahons, to go to SmackDown to hide would hurt his character, also, he is the guy who is being built to be the biggest name in the WWE so I'm pretty certain he will stay on RAW

I think Edge will be in a main event of Wrestlemania, I think he'll retain at No Way Out but not actually do much in terms of wrestling just catch people off gueard with spears and pins. In the match I would have a big battle between Taker and Haitch before Edge takes Taker out and Big Show takes Haitch out.

I would also have a battle between Big Show and Koslov setting a match up at Mania.

I would then have a program between Haitch and Taker where Taker will win at WM before being retired at Survivor Series. Edge will face Shawn Michaels at WM for the WWE Championship, I would have Edge win this battle. AT NWO JBL would have lost to Michaels, Shawn then moves to Smackdown for a short time and gets defeaten by Edge, this program would then carry on after WM on Raw.

Christian will most likely face Swagger for the ECW Title.

Rany Orton will easily defeat Shane at No Way Out and then challenge John Cena who won the EC. Orton will defeat Cena in the last match of the show before all the McMahons come out together, Vince in a neck brace and say they have a suprise for Orton, SCSA runs out and stunners him for the last part of Mania. (I am sure he'll get one in somwhere.)

The MitB will between Morrison and MVP, both have good reasons to win it, but I think Morrison is the more likely option as I think a heel suits the MitB more.

Jeff will face Matt in a TLC match or similar.

Can you see this happen? I doubt they would risk upstaging the MITB match with a similar type match

I did originally write Ladder match and then I thought that, maybe just a generic Hardcore match.

I knew there was some reason HBK couldn't do Smackdown but I thought it was just to do with travelling etc. that's why I only said a short stay, I guess it will be on Raw then.

Nah I heard this about a year ago, and again lately when those transcripts become available Stephanie says as much as well about HBK and working Tuesdays, although to be fair she doesn't mention him by name

I dont see the point in everybody mention Jeff/Matt in a TLC/ladder match as there is no title, is that no the point of a TLC/ladder match, something hanging there for them to grab to win?

I think we could possibly see another Jericho/Micheals match on at mania, the quality is definitly there and worthy of a spot on the card!

With whats going on with Flair and Jericho and the obvious reasons for Flair not being able to wrestle i can see the man who beat flair to be the man to fight for him, i think the JBL/HBK will end come NWO in their match giving HBK the freedom to move on.

I mooted the idea of Orton/HHH the other night myself and it makes good plausible sense for that to be the next step in the Orton/McMahon rivalry.
My only stumbling block at the moment is the following.
How many years is it now that HHH has not won at Mania.

Surely Mr Ego wouldn't go 0-5? Especially at the biggest Mania in a generation.
