Subject: RAW - Referee botch, storyline? Tue Jan 13, 2009 6:21 pm
Last night on RAW I noticed two big botches from the referees, now not sure about the first one, but if they angle it in to the second they could do an angle where referees are annoyed with the WWE for going on a sacking spree.
On the other hand this botch was an obvious botch, when Referee Scott Armstrong counted 3 in a pin, now we all know that refs know when to end the match and Orton's music started right away so they where ready for the finish too
Now looking at the video I wonder if its another option for a storyline, Scott Armstrong is the brother of the Road Dogg and of course is the son of "Bullet" Bob Armstrong which makes him 2nd generation which in turn makes him eligible for Legacy, could Legacy include referees? it would make sense to get one on board and on there side.

I get the feeling that WWE has no idea what to do with Kane at the moment. The story with Mysterio got shat on pretty quickly, this Kelly Kelly thing seems to have come from nowhere, I'm wondering if it's some kind of story where Kane sees the refs as trying to screw him out of matches, he goes nuts, rediscovers his mask, yadayadayada
I also loved the Vince promos in which he screamed 'you're fired' at Eric Bischoff and 2 wrestlers, namely Kurt Angle and Mick Foley - just to remind viewers that he 'sacked' 2 of TNA's biggest names...
Is Scott Anderson Road Dogg's bro? Never knew that!

Yes he is his older brother, Scott Armstrong, like I say because Ortons music hit right away and the ref actually counted to 3 instead of stalling then I know it wasn't just an ordinary botch, what would have made it look better though is if there was total silence, no music for about 5 seconds, that would have sold it more I think
As for Kane, the whole point of that match last night was for Kelly Kelly to be the focal point, Kane wanted Orton because she went with Orton while Kane thought she liked him, Kelly should have been there to get involved, not because of her love for Kane but her new found hatred for Orton, Kane could then perceive that to be her standing up for him and getting more shelf life out that story

A feud between Kane and Orton, who are 2 of WWE's biggest names, should have been built better than Kane suddenyl thinking Kelly likes him, a promo between Randy and Kelly, and a match 2 weeks later. It seems even dumb when orton is involved in the legacy story, it seems creative just thought 'right, we need someone who Kelly could have slept with. That Randy orton's a bit of a cunt, good looking guy, sod it, he'll do!'. kane must get so pissed off with one shite story after another. And when they've spent the last 6 months trying to build him a s amonster heel, having him face Raw's best heel kinda undid all the work they've spent the last 6 months doing.
What was the other botch, Gaff? I watched Raw this morning, and didn't clock another...?

It would have made more sense for Kelly to either have slept with Rhodes or DiBiase or even one of CrymeTyme, they are not doing nothing at all just now and Kane could have buried them, they are not doing anything worthwhile anyway, future endeavoured me thinks

I think it's a storyline but I think it's something to do with Kane rather than Orton and Legacy, I'm guessing it'll go on the lines of what Grecian said i.e. Kane thinking the refs are against him.

Why though? While I know nothing makes sense with Kane anymore I just can't see how that would work or why they would be against Kane, the only reason I could see the referee being against Kane would be if he was a (secret) member of Legacy

I don't know why, it just seemed to me at the end of that match is was revolving around Kane and the ref rather than Legacy and the ref, as well as Ted DiBase returning I think the announcers would say something hinting at it or something that connects Legacy to the referee.
That's just what it seemed like to me.

Well I think they wanted to get both Kane and the ref out of the way quickly to get this Legacy angle back on track, it worked out exactly how I thought it would, my initial thoughts where they just done it to get Kane and the ref out there ASAP but biw relising what ref the decided to use then they can go back to that Legacy angle now
I don't think the commentators can spoil it on the first night, they would need to leave you with a WTF feeling, them maybe in later shows start mentioning the Bullet as his old man

I'm up watching ECW live and during one of the ad breaks was looking on a few sites and came across this
Quote :
Courtesy of Prowrestling.com
"- It appears that WWE is working towards referee Scott Armstrong working with Randy Orton and his Legacy group. On tonight's RAW, Armstrong counted to three in Orton's match with Kane when it clearly was a two count, as shown on the replays. Armstrong, who would be considered second generation, walked away from the ring like nothing had happened, ignoring Kane's pleas.
They're looking at possibly doing something with Orton, Rhodes and Dibiase employing the services of the second generation referee. Armstrong is the older son of Bob Armstrong and the brother of Brad, Steve and Brian (BG James in TNA). Armstrong has wrestled over the years but has refereed for WWE since 2006, after having stints with WCW and TNA."

Having just seen Raw, I hope they don't make this into a feud between Armstrong and Kane. The last feud Kane had with a little man turned out rather disappointing, so I don't have high hopes for this one.
Kane will probably end up being the first stepping stone to legitimize Priceless/ Legacy as a threat, now that their internal disputes seem to be settled.
OR Kane goes ape-shit and sets Armstrong on fire, leading to the return of The Roaddogg and an epic feud between the two of them.

-----------
now ive read that I think that it could be the ref giving orton a little helping hand.
but the first one was just to get a DQ to set up the no DQ match.
I would have liked the orton one to be a bit more obvious though, as in reality i doubt the ref would have seen kanes limp roll of his shoulder.
(would be nice if say orton was infecting the wwe, like with moles and such, to ultimatly help him win the title at wrestlemania) vince therefore could be a part of the story, or shane or steph as they can bend the rules to help or fight against orton.
-------
could also just see vince go "steph you fired a top wrestler but let a puny ref make errors...oy ref youre fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired" id then piss my pants if steph had sold the company to someone (i.e bischoff type) (mcmahon signature is all u need remember lol)

CM Punk vs Regal - The ref gave a low blow when he was looking the other way.

I thought this could be the start of the Anarchy storyline again. I mean, you have Steph firing top stars, referees making stupid mistakes, people attacking each other after matches (Mike Knox and Rey) etc.
I think they might hold Vince's return off for a few weeks yet letting this storyline gain momentum only for Vince to return and restore order saying that Steph is not fit to run RAW. They could easily make up a reason for Vince's absence next week, maybe Linda has gone into hospital or some other random reason lol.

whats that got to do with the referee possibly being a member of Legacy?
As for Kane, use some imagination, the mask may return, I doubt it though but why should it matter? the mask is not the reason Kane is not seen as a monster, creative are the reason he isn't thought of as a possible World Champ Possibility
