Unforgiven Discussion Thread

Only one match so far but I have issues with it already. Mainly how can they justify Kane, JBL and Cena being there? Cenas been beat cleanly at the last two PPV's. JBL was beat by Punk and as for Kane he's been beaten by practically the whole roster lol.

Saying that it could (big, almost capital letters sized could) be good but it's perfect for Punk to retain which I have no doubt he will. He'll lose it of course but then someone will knack someone and Punk will steal the pin. I'd stake money on it.

That title match sounds Very Vince Russo if you ask me.

A tad cheap too. I remember the hardcore one at Wrestlemania 16 just with cookie trays and 20 people lol.

Does feel like something you would associate with a crappy title rather than the WHC though.

I remember that one (although I thought the time limit title match was at Backlash) and I reckon this match at Unforgiven needs to be falls count anywhere or no DQ.

God, I hated this kind of match in the video games. Essentially all one needs to do is hide somewhere, wait till the clock is at 19:00, hit someone with several finishers for good measure and be champ.

But I appreciate the effort that, after plenty of triple threat, fatal fourway and fetal fiveway matches, they are trying to do something different. I appreciate the effort, but I still hate the result.

Asif batista wont win though. Hes getting a massive push again.

if punk retains it will be a big shock to alot of people though i guess.

and a good question is, say you won the title 3 times and ended up losing it, would you be a 3(+ your past wins) time title holder

I figure that only the final win will count as a title win. Otherwise Kane could theoretically surpass Ric Flairs title record and win the belt twenty times.

You could throw in Iron Man stipulations, as well: The one man with the most title wins after 20 minutes will be declared the winner.

But these guys are main eventers so they shouldnt really be conceding a pinfall before the 10 minute mark and then when a new champion is crowned that should take another 3-5 mins maybe a few quick falls in the last 5 mins.

I dont think Adamle said is it do DQ and can they get out of the ring?

Cena and Batista will win it during the match but the two id want to have the belt at the end are Punk, making him look a strong competitor or Kane, this would be a great boost for Kane as hed finally be getting his push after about 7 years. Also, as some of you have said it could lead to Mysterio becoming a evil minion destroying Kanes opponents or interupting in his matches.

I think Mysterios voice would suit an evil minion though kinda squeeky, but Ray hasnt really ever been a proper heel that i can think of so he may not suit the role perfectly for a while.

Anyone else think it's gonna be a tad short? The 3 scrambles are only 20 mins each so that leaves a canny bit of time to fill in.

I was thinking that the Michaels Jericho match would be a solid 40 minutes all in (counting the entrance time as well of course and the aftermath) cant see that lasting so long now.

I think if Michaels is injured it almost confirms The Undertaker will get a title shot for the last match of the night

Not my predictions but my preference for the title matches would be

ECW Scramble winner - Matt Hardy, not exactly mr charisma however I do think he would have excellent programmes with Miz Morrison and Chavo which would make for good viewing.

SMACKDOWN - MVP, I think he would be an excellent choice, not sure if the WWE would feel the same way though, its a fantastic opportunity for the WWE to make an instant main eventer and MVP has been on the periphery of things for a long time now, it could and hopefully should be his time to step up!

RAW - CM Punk or Kane, now a year ago or even six months ago a run with the strap for Kane woudl have been inconceivable, however lately I think his angle has been brilliant and really makes me want to watch Kane, in the ring he is not the best but as the all destructive monster he is good and if he can have a following like something similar to the Ministry of Darkness then he can be a believable holder of the strap for a few months, particularly if Rey Mysterio joins him, failing that I would like to see Punk succeed and help build his character as a strong 'fight all comers champion'

The taker story apparantly has now been dropped.

I can see HHH being screwed by Khali. Benjiman I would love to see win, but WWE to put two straps on him aint going to happen. Jeff I think may pick this one up.

Raw Kane would be awesome however feel him and Rey will fued without the title. JBL/Batista to win in my book .

ECW Henry will win this just cannot see it going anywhere else

It could have been dropped like you say, however if needs be then it could be brought back to the fore again.

Nothing would make MVP look stronger than to win the Scramble then defend and retain it on the same night against Taker

They were going to do Taker gettin a shot as a peace offering by VIcky. I think if Taker does get a shot some one will screw him anyway

I would hope for that.

I think it would make perfect sense for MVP to win the scramble then have to face The Undertaker later on and for The Big Show to come down to the ring and screw Taker and allow MVP to gain the pin, I think MVP and The Big Show would be an excellent pairing, obviously not as a tag team but just a two man top level team who help each other!

I'm lost here. How would he get a shot when the scramble is for the title? Would he be facing the winner in the same night?

Anyway, they aren't gonna give Trips and Taker away at a PPV like this.
