TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle was arrested early this morning on charges of driving under the influence, TMZ.com reports.

The Olympic gold medalist was arrested by Virginia State Troopers and taken to Warren County Jail. He posted $2,000 bond and was released at 3:31 a.m.

Angle was previously arrested on March 25, 2011 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and charged with "being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated", after failing a field sobriety test. He later pled guilty to the charges and was on April 20 sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation, a chemical dependency evaluation, a $250 fine, $225 in court fees, and a ten day suspended jail sentence.

Seeing as Matt Hardy got fired for exactly the same offence less than a week ago, odds on TNA doing the same to Kurt?

Plus if he's got a suspended sentence, if he gets found guilty of this, he's off to jail.

matt hardy refused rehab then got fucked up on drugs and crashed. But I get what youre saying, tna needed an excuse to fire hardy I guess will be the reason they dont fire kurt, expendable vs top guy. Although with the main event scene that's being set up I honestly dont think tna will need kurt for much longer

If it's drugs that's caused Kurt to get pulled over, then bang goes his 'Olympic Dream'. which was always total bullshit anyway.

I don't watch TNA at all, just can't bring myself to watch a whole show. That said, if they are looking to bring through more main event talent that's not just WWE cast-offs and guys they've produced themselves, that'll only benefit the whole business in the long term.

I think wrestling is maybe on the up as a whole, in early stages of it, but there seem to be plenty of quality to replace the old guys in wwe and tna, maybe takes a bit longer in wwe as it's so much bigger, but it's promising. Kurt will have been drunk, same as last time, but no snow to blame it on, so it's obviously police targeting him must have done something to attract their attention, the goof
