WWE spring cleaning is underway, and according to PWInsider.com, the following names have been released from WWE today:

Shelton Benjamin (It's possible that his deal is up and they aren't coming to new terms)

Mickie James

Katie Lea Burchill

Kung Fu Naki

Jimmy Wang Yang

Slam Master J

Mike Knox

Very shocked to see Shelton and Mickie part ways with WWE. Think Shelton will do well in TNA if he goes. Mickie will go to music, I think that is probably one of the reason she is gone. Not shocked about any of the others.

I like WWE release season, always interested to see what deadweight they get rid off.

Regarding Mickie James' shocking release today from WWE, she was fired because she more than once on the European tour arrived late for the bus, holding up travel. That was considered the straw that broke the camel's back dating back to her being disciplined by being sent to SmackDown due to substandard performances and issues with her weight.

I wonder if and when Angle returns to TNA (if he does) then he might do it with the Worlds Greatest Tag Team

Shocked at Shelton going, but Charlie Haas had been advocating he leave and become a free agent. I never thought WWE would give him no choice in the matter.

Mickie going is a disappointment. their two most over female wrestlers (I typed divas, but it just felt wrong. like on the rare occasions I go to McDonalds I won't say Mcmuffin, Mc rib, Mcketchup or any other thing with Mc in front of it. same applies here) gone in a little over a month,

Very sad for Nikita/Katie Lea. She never really got any time to showcase what she can do. Our last memory of her on WWE television will be in a stupid beard angle with faux stoned guest hosts. If there are no work permit issues, I would like to see her in TNA to add depth to that division. As a talented worker, she may be in the best position to deliver one of those "WWE held me back promos" on TNA before putting on a quality match with a lady who can actually work.

As for all the others, I hate to see people losing their jobs, but they each had decent opportunities to get themselves over and remain in the spotlight but never really availed of those.

He's actually a pretty decent worker when he's not saddled with a retarded gimmick like the one WWE gave him in his latest run. Could be a useful addition to the X-Division if they used him as a guy to put others over.

Definitely. he was one of the best ladder matches I've ever seen as part of the Jung Dragons, back in WCW. It's on the Ladder Match DVD WWE released a few years back, some of the spots in that were just perfect.
