Tommy Dreamer: 'I Have Been Contacted By TNA. May Go There'

Tommy Dreamer recently did an interview with Phil Strum of the Poughkeepsie Journal. Some highlights:

On what he will do next: "I have been contacted by TNA. May go there. If not, I'm very, very happy and content. I'm seriously working every weekend up until right now to September straight. I did two movies, I've been writing two films that I'm hoping to get sold. It wasn't just a spur-of-the-moment thing. I've been working on this for quite some time." Note: Dreamer's no-compete clause will end on April 5, as his release was official on January 4.

On TNA's move to Mondays: "Not the smartest move on TNA's behalf. I learned with the original ECW: the WWE machine cannot be destroyed. Nor should it be. There's enough piece of the pie. To go head to head wasn't the smartest move for a lot of different reasons. Everyone makes their mistakes. The ratings the first week were not good and favorable. Hopefully, they will continue. I think they had their niche on Thursday nights. They should have stayed and maybe just done specials on Monday nights."

On Monday night being "wrestling night": "If NBC had Thursday Night Football and wanted to move it to Mondays. Why? If we're all wrestling fans, we want to watch wrestling any day of the week. Just like, if I'm a football fan, I want to watch it Monday, Thursday, Sunday."

I can't see him being used well at all in TNA. Unless they put him in a programme with Raven, which has been done to death over the years I can't see much point in him going there apart from getting a pay cheque each month

This is what I keep saying myself and I'm glad someone else said it, because if your a fan of wrestling then you'd watch any program (even Ring Of Honor) and before TNA moved to mondays you could watch both in America, no problem (i'm lucky i'm from the UK, so can watch both easily as they don't clash over here).

^^ Agreed, but people are still under a delusion that there will be a return to the "wars", when in reality that was 10/11yrs ago and times and technology have changed.

Any idea what movies he did?

Wouldnt like to see him back, he didnt really do that well in the WWE except put people over, but Tna have plenty of people who can do that and plenty that can make their opponent look stronger that Dreamer could.

If TNA does get Dreamer then they need to bring back the Monsters Ball match and have Dreamer and Abyss face each other... apart from that I can't really see what else Dreamer could do in TNA.

I think he could be useful behind the scenes, but not as an on-air talent.

I agree a behind the scence role is all TNA should/could do, he has no bussiness being an in-ring talent.
