| Of course the Undertaker will return, he is one of the biggest draws EVER inthe history of the business, he needs a time out for injuries to heel, remember along with Edge he has carried the main event scene and with it the weight and expectations of the fans and management since his return 10 months ago, he was always likely to need a break | |

| Sorry, I couldn't resist it. This is such a stupid thread it deserves mockery.
Anyway, Vickie G said he will never wrestle in WWE again so who am I to argue with the GM of Smackdown.

| This is quite disappointing actually. I wanted some mark to come on who thought he was gone for good. That would've been a laugh.
Seriously though, I really liked the way he left. Just trotted down through the black arena. One of the most atmospheric things WWE have done for ages.

| The taker can do that, he is the one character who does not need to speak to get his message across, the thing that annoys me though is I think he is actually brilliant on the mic, he just never needs to use it which can be frustrating | |

| Taker is awesome when he is cheesy, like with the torch-bearing druids and the rising-to-the-sky-in-smoke and whatnot.
But like discopants08 pointed out he is also awesome in this honest, "damn, I have to leave WWE, I am going to miss you guys" emotional way.

| Lets face it he can do it all really. We should be grateful to have seen the best years of his career because he will be remembered forever. Hopefully he's going to be like Flair and carry on for a good while longer eventually sinking down a peg or two and getting younger people over. I think that's where he's heading anyway. I don't believe he has many more main event runs left in him. | |

| I was surprised to see as many main event occurrences as he got recently. Talk of him retiring has been around for ages, and there has been more than one occasion in the not so distant past where an actual retirement would have been plausible.
But WWE and Undertaker have learned to play with this kind of anticipation. from now on every Undertaker WM match is going to be exciting, because from now on it is very feasible that he looses and thus brings over the new guy.

| Taker got me into wrestling. I'd watched as a casual fan but when he first appeared on Diabese's team at Survivor Series all those years back I was hooked instantly. Since then he's been the best big man ever to grace the ring, without question.
My one downside with him though has to be the use of the 2 month rest he goes through every now and then. This time was bad enough but usually it involves him in a casket/buried alive/cage match. About to get the win and suddenly a unknown monster appears at the top of the ramp. Undertaker suddenly forgets to get the pin and watches the monster make way to ring. Undertaker goes toe to toe with monster who usually is about 4-5 inches taller. Undertaker goes to hit monster. Nothing happens. Monster then beats up Taker. Commentator goes on about how no-one has ever manhandled Taker like this before. Taker then has 3 months off. In mean time new Monster gets a manager. Monster blazes a path of destruction through all wrestlers. Then 3 months down line when monster is in ring the titantron flickers and puts out a gothic style warning. Crowd are not thick and obviously scream for Taker. It goes on for few weeks. At PPV in the match involving monster Taker returns, he again hits monster, after 4 or 5 hits monster is against ropes. Taker does a running clothesline off ropes and monster goes over top rope to ground below. Monster is helped to feet by manager and they stare a hole at Taker in ring, Taker stares back and makes slitting throat gesture then rolls his eyes. Over next few weeks they build rivalry to next PPV. At PPV Taker defeats monster. Monster then suddenly goes from being unbeatable to becoming jobber to anyone. Taker gets push to a title match until he gets injured/tired again.
Repeat steps above for history of Taker for last 10 years.

| You are absolutely right. But you really have to love the path of passing invincibility in every monster heel. The path you described clearly depicts how Kane and the Great Awesome Khali have developed. From beating the Undertaker with a single chop/ needing three (THREE) tombstones to get pinned to jobbing to John Cena/ losing your WM XX match in under ten minutes, with exactly 1 tombstone.
Expect Khali to job to Paul London in the near future.

| He is just taking some time of to heal some inguries. He will be back in acouple of month's, this mean's Smackdown will not lose there rating's guy's because everbody wanna see what Edge is going to do this week.
I thought I could add this Batista was going to take some time of, but Randy Orton got ingured at ONS and Undertaker have been so called ''banished'' so they are going to keep Batista untill probably Undertaker return because he is the biggest superstar there. And maybe he will get time of when Rey Mysterio return's he is probably the biggest baby-face there have been in WWE there is no way they can turn this guy to heel so Undertaker will return soon when Batista takes some time of because one of them have to stay on Smackdown they are the 2 biggest star's and I dident forget about Edge, but Batista and Taker get along with the crowd so that's why they are the biggest.

| Of course he is.
A wrestler that has been with WWE for 20 years, that went 17-0 at Wrestlemania, that has put his heart and soul into the business and helped so many guys along the way will be slink away into the night after losing at a One Night Stand match. Yes that makes perfect sense. No Rick Flair like standing ovation for him. No celebration of a wrestling legends career. No we'll just force him to lose, take him off the website and that'll be it. What an exit, what a fitting end to his career.
Get with it. | |
