Who wil win the 2017 Royal Rumble

Goldberg got concussion off a door and went loopy on Raw ffs lol. I'm hoping the staredown is just a tease for a non title grudge match at some point. Fastlane and Roadblock are poor, so no title needs to be on the line in that main event. It might be a way of getting Reigns v Goldberg v Lesnar?

If we go back to the who deserves it discussion it would be so simple.

AJ by far and away deserves to Main Event WM. He'd deserve to beat Cena clean at WM too. A Double turn would be the easiest way to have fans accept this. If Cena gets high and mighty as a 16 time champ, AJ can show him how its done at WM. (that's how its always gone down, and that torch needs passing, even if its only for a few years of AJ at the top, because AJ at the top will create more stars of EQUAL footing for the future of WWE) and Cena hasn't had that moment yet either, and he deserves a big WM send off. I doubt it will happen that way, but he's basically bullying Styles atm if anyone pays attention to how he has acted. "that guy from Atlanta" was pretty much perfect in it's disrespect. In the past this would be step one of a burial before sending him packing into obscurity. And the writers know this, they reference it enough lol.

There is a smart double turn lurking somewhere if they dare to do it. But if they don't it twit feud will still be the best thing at Mania



If AJ loses the title i'd put money on him winning the Rumble. They would have to explain it as "I won't beat you at EC, I'll do it in the main event of WM" though. he could just retain and then lose at EC instead. But that would mean the Universal title being the Rumble prize for a Raw winner, which really shouldn't happen if they say the winner Main events WM lol.

The only similarly long and good feuds/stories in Raw's case are Zayn Vs Owens, and Jericho vs Owens. So...

What should happen, what could happen and what will happen are still reliant on Vince's whim. He could still decide Strowman vs Reigns is worth a go lol. This is why Raw has been such a mess lately, it really has felt like there is no plan. They finally had a good show and all we learned is Reigns is a bad ass, Goldberg, Lesnar and Taker are really going to be in the same match, and Rollins hates HHH. Which is the same stuff we are told every week anyway.

if Sting takes care of Taker everything would go smoother in terms of who faces who.

I might put a few bets on for the rumble Strowman seem worth a punt at 4/1 and still gonna put a bit on Jericho at 9/1, although wont be able to watch the rumble itself till 9pm Monday cos got to do a stocktake on my warehouse at work so cant watch it live hahaha

Thought I'd put this on this thread. It's obviously been pitched to Vince, the way the writing has hinted at it, but will he sign off on it lol. Only found out recently Road Dogg is co head writer on SD since its been good.

In terms of the Rumble winner being wide open, I'm wondering if Taker wins. This would set up a Mania that looks something like this...:

Undertaker vs AJ - WWE title
Seth Rollins vs Triple H
Brock vs Goldberg
KO vs Jericho or Reigns vs Balor for the Universal title.
John Cena vs Strowman? - interpromotional thing, Strowman wins. That'd stick a rocket straight on him!

IC title ladder match - fill it with the SD guys like Ambrose, Kalisto, Miz, Wyatt
Women, tag shit, and something involving Big Show & Shaq to round out the card.

As top-line matches go, those 5 could be pretty cool.

I also just had a look at Skybet - they've got Orton as the favourite at the moment.

That would work so much better the other way around - Orton doesn't need another Rumble win. Wyatt wins the Rumble, Orton wins the title in the Chamber.

One thing that this would help with is if SD have Match of the night with Styles v Cena and have a well known Rumble winner, the inflated viewership the big 4 events get may then transfer to SD Live.

And in regards to Orton getting the Rumble, it would need to be that way in this storyline. Either Wyatt helping Orton to win by sacrificing himself, and then winning the title at EC, but wrongly thinking Orton will go for the Raw belt. Or Orton turning on Bray in the Rumble, but that unleashing a rage in Bray that leads him to winning the title before Orton gets his chance at WM. The way its been going would need Orton to betray Bray after bringing down the Family under Bray's nose. Randy gets his Trojan horse revenge either way. But Bray unleashing a new rage as a lone entity would be way cooler, and it would add a layer to Orton. He got his revenge, yes, but created a monster which he now must overcome. Fucking WHAM! Extended rivalry.


As AJ would be screwed if this happens, the only real way they could save that side of things would be retaining at RR losing the title at EC, rematch on SD and then Joe, Nakamura or Omega costing Styles and doing one of those matches at WM. If it was Cena that lost at EC they would have to have him lose a rematch on TV too, but then AJ is just floating around with no title and no serious ppv selling grudge match. Which would be unbelievable for someone that has had that year and is selling merch consistently well with the same design he's always had, no less lol.

Or, Wyatt and Orton are the final two, Wyatt uses Harper and Rowan to get rid of Orton and win, or makes Orton leave the ring. Cheap ending, admittedly, but you can then have either of the world title matches as the main event.

Wyatt announces he'll challenge the SD title holder at Mania, Orton qualifies for the Chamber and Bray gives him the task of eliminating Cena as Wyatt sees him as a threat. Orton does, then goes on to win the title. You can then go with Orton saying he's champ and is therefore running the family and set Bray out as a lone wolf, Bray demanding that Orton lies down and Randy refuses to...

Another Mania match I wouldn't mind seeing and given recent history, wouldn't look out of place (but would ruin the card in other ways - re-unite the Shield and have them face Wyatt, Orton & Harper in some kind of tornado tag / falls count anywhere war. But would take Rollins out of the Triple H match, and also finish the supposed Undertaker vs Reigns match.

Just done 2 bets on the Rumble, £2.50 each on Jericho and Bray Wyatt. I think Wyatt vs Orton in going to happen at Mania, the rumour going round about Orton winning is just a swerve.

I stuck 2 quid on Jericho at 9/1, 2 quid on Braun at 9/2, quid on Braun to eliminate both Goldberg and Lesnar at 10/1, 25p on Braun to eliminate all members of the new day at 18/1
