| Any predictions and all that.
Has not been the best advertised fight and Haye still needs to do alot of work if he wants people to take notice of heavyweights again.
Boxing feels almost dead in the UK, there is rarely any hype for our best boxer, theres not even any real hype for the likes of amir khan really, localised news media loves it, but in the whole boxing is not what it could be.
I don't know too much about Ruiz, sure disco will have a blunt way of summing him up? shite is he? or what lol.
any chance of a good fight, or is it seen as easy haye win?

| Should be an easy-ish fight for Haye. Ruiz is a pretty defensive fighter, and doesn't have a whole lot of power.
Haye by KO for me. The only danger Haye has is if he's looking past Ruiz and assuming he'll win.

| I'm going Haye is still unproven as a heavyweight in my opinion. Ruiz is a tough fighter and will make him work hard, but I think Haye will win on points. | |

| Typical British mentality, build someone up so you can knock him the fuck down!
The British Public in general can't stand anyone who might actually have a chance of being a winner, we're a nation of losers

| Should win this pretty easily, decent warm up fight before the Klitschko's. Valuev won't have taught him much, the man's a stupid size, has no speed and is technically inept.
He'll probably look for the KO this time round mind.
There's no rush for him to win over the division mind, I would say one or two more fights before he's ready for Wlad (who hammered Fast Eddie the other night!). The only thing he has to do is beat them two really and cocky as he is he probably knows he's not ready for it yet.

No massive domestic rivalry like Benn vs Eubank, the decent fighters that are around at the minute all get linked up with Frank Warren and he just feeds them hand-picked shite, Amir Khan is just really unlikeable with a glass chin, there's no-one for the public to either really hate and want to see get knocked out (Naseem Hamed, Eubank), no-one for the public to really connect with and like (Hatton, Bruno), no-one who has been robbed of a definite win by a crooked judge (Lewis vs Tyson)...

Lewis caned Tyson though I blame the shite media coverage as much as anything. Considering we have to pay £15 to watch the likes of Khan (who wasn't even a champ when the deal started!) simply because he's British is pathetic. Plus the media in general are hugely ignorant of boxing overseas anyway.

I meant Holyfield. It was early!
Khan's got one hell of an inflated ego, which his talent doesn't back up. He's been fed shite by Warren, been knocked down by guys who should not be knocking down world champions, beat Barrera when Barrera got cut by a clash of heads early on (and the fight should have been stopped earlier, in the first 4 rounds and counted as a no-contest), then gets banged out by an unknown Colombian, who then goit his arse handed to him by a fairly unknown Brit (I want to say Kevin Mitchell, but can't remember for definite). I honestly think Malignaggi is going to show everyone how over-rated Khan is.

| Yep, was Kevin Mitchell, proper schooled Prescott. He's a good prospect actually, easily as talented as Khan but he doesn't have the Warren media machine behind him.
Be interesting to see how Khan fares under Golden Boy, they certainly won't be protecting him as much. He's done fine to be fair, but like you say Barrera was the best he's faced but that was basically a void fight. Glad he's fighting Malignaggi, that's the standard he should be facing, not random "champions" like Salita.

| thats what ive been saying about haye trying to liven up boxing again, no one hates or loves people enough, no rivalries etc. the more haye churps on about the klits the better, but still british media is wank for boxing. Haye is trying his best to get people to care again, but its not really worked yet. apparently americans don't like him though, which is a good thing, because if he goes to america he can wind the shit out of them. oh and roode, i am going also | |

| Haye is superb pre-fight. Proper builds shit up really well. The Klitschko's are amazing but they have the personality of cardboard boxes. With all of Haye's crack their now threatening to tear his head off and all sorts Exactly what we need! None of this humble bollocks. Ali called Frasier and Liston worse than shit, Tyson threatened to eat Lewis' children! It's the sort of banter that makes fights. | |

| its brilliant too, i trully think haye wouldnt care if he lost aslong as it was massively hyped and managed to get a big win the next time.
just wish there were a few brit heavyweights of the same mould, that would really spice it up and i wouldnt care who came out on top aslong as it was exciting

| The top heavyweights these days are mostly Russian, and they just get taught to win. Whereas the US fighters are more about the showmanship and selling fights. Chuck in that the 2 top heavyweights have always said they'd never fight each, and there is no interest whatsoever in any of the other heavyweights.
David Haye could be the guy to kickstart the heavyweight scene, but without someone else having enough personality to bounce off him, it's a bit like The Miz cutting a promo on Charlie Haas. Plus it needs a good American to get the US interested, and seeing as one of the Klitchko's whupped possibly the best of the Yanks last weekend, they just don't care.
When Mayweather faces Pacquaio, that's the fight boxing needs.

He's got a cracking next fight lined up,Katsidis at Upton Park.Should be a great tear up,Especially after that fight Katsidis had with Graham Earl a few years back, fight of the year. Can't see past Haye in this one,I don't mind his arrogance,it's what's needed in boxing at the moment, someone with a bit of charachter who takes risks.

| Aye, he's with Warren, but he's used in a very different way.
Warren doesn't particularly care if he gets battered, he isn't (or wasn't...) a Golden Goose like Khan was.

Can't stand Khan or Warren.I know Warren does what's good for the fighter by protecting him but I would have loved to have seen him put Calzaghe in with Hopkins and Jones when they were in their prime...not 8 years on. And Khan is so over-hyped and over-rated it's boring!
