| REY MYSTERIO has publicly criticised WWE's decision to suspend him for 30 days after he tested positive for a banned substance in accordance with their Wellness Program.
The pint-sized grappler told press during an unauthorised interview in Mexico that WWE handled his suspension "very badly" and claimed to have a prescription for the drug in question, believed to be a painkiller for a nagging knee injury.
Mysterio explained that due to him going on a vacation and then going to Europe for a promotional trip meant that he didn't have enough time to produce his prescription.
He blasted: "They didn't give me the opportunity to clarify what happened or to give my version. I find it very unfair the way the company handles the anti doping system."
"My only concern is the negative side, but the good thing is that I can clarify what happened and avoid rumors.
''I worry about my job, my position and what will happen, but more important is the image and what the public will think, because it read like I did something illegal, and it was not."
The WWE Intercontinental Champion added: "I have passed all the drug tests except this one.
''Maybe if I had failed four straight times (the suspension) would be understandable. I'll put it this way, I do not think I deserve this kind of treatment."
Mysterio is expected to drop his championship at the Smackdown TV taping on Tuesday in Cleveland, Ohio.
His suspension will take effect on Wednesday.

Following the reported issues with Rey's contract a while back, I get the feelinghe's not too happy in WWE at the moment...

| He can have some great matchs once in a while but i find him so annoying, a heel Rey would be fun to see, spitting in the kids faces instead of hugging them lol | |

| Rey has been the performer of the year so far in my opinion along with Jeff Hardy (yes I just did say that)
Rey is pissed off with the WWE just now, he still thinks he can get his suspension over turned due to the timelines he was given at this weeks SD taping, hopefully he does because SD needs him

| Rey's been outstanding for much of the year. certainly the in-ring performer of the year, and I've said that for some time.
Dunno if he can get it over-turned though - it'd look a bit crap on WWE if they publically announce his suspension, then don't give him a chance to defend himself. And the allegations of him being a big star and being 'excused' the suspension would kick in too...
Personally, I hope he gets it over-turned, but I just can't see it. I'm also curious to know if they acknowledge it on TV - send him out to lose the IC, then apologise to the fans for letting them down, that kind of thing.

| It seems pretty unfair/harsh to stab a loyal employee in the back like that, I would be willing to give Rey a chance to explain just out of respect. If they make him publically apologise for being on med's when the WWE is the reason he is on them in the first place doing his job just seems totally wrong. He is a great talent no doubt just a gimmick i find annoying and is often paired against some unrealistic opponents who neither match nor compliment Rey's style, with Dolph he creates some magic matches and likewise with Jericho that was just magic... | |

| Well the terms of the Wellness testing system insist that if you fail you have 72 hours to provide the necessary prescriptions from your Doctor that will prove you have an honest reason for taking substances that the Wellness Test forbids, Rey says he was only given 24 hours and couldn't provide the needed documents on time, he didn't get word he had failed until he got home on Wednesday morning due to being on a 3 week vacation as well as promoting SummerSlam the traveling to SmackDown for the Tuesday taping, he also said no one even mentioned it to him at the SD taping so he was completely oblivious to it until he finally got home Wednesday which by that time left him short of time to get the documents to the WWE which resulted in his suspension | |

| Why do you think I said it? heres a clue, because I think he has been ALONG with Rey!
I think Jeff has been brilliant this year and almost all of his PPV matches I have found myself really enjoying mainly because they have a very unpredictable ending to them, his 'Crucifixion' of Edge when he won the WHC was excellent in the ladder match and I thought his last three matches with CM Punk where top notch stuff in three very different matches, I've enjoyed his feud with Matt as well and thought the WWE messed up big time when they drafted Matt to RAW
