I've read that Pompey stioll owe Liverpool £7 million for Peter Crouch - I'd imagine the fee is closer to £10 million, with the remaining Crouch money gettng written off.

Still, huge amount for an average full-back. Especially as Liverpool are supposed to have money problems.

honestly i could still see prices for english players still rising, the man city factor doesnt help either, before city were interested the prices being rumoured for johnson were in the region of 12m

Totally agreed. Prices are ridiculous. He's worth no more than 5m if you ask me & as for Ronaldo. He's worth no more than £20m - £25m. Look how good Bergkamp was & he only went for £12m.

older big transfers like ferdinand, were massive but he really is the type of player you can build a team around (did utd do that, think they did)
