Vince McMahon To Induct Austin At The HOF

The Houston Chronicle ran an article today about Ricky Steamboat being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. The article notes that Steve Austin will “reportedly will be introduced by Vince McMahon” while the Von Erichs will be inducted by Michael Hayes.

Neither of them have been officially confirmed, although it has been expected for a while that Hayes would be doing the honors for the Von Erichs.

Ricky Steamboat is being inducted by Ric Flair, The Funks are being inducted by Dusty Rhodes, and Bill Watts (who has yet to be officially announced) will be inducted by Jim Ross.

Eh?

Thought Austin made a fuss over Flair being the one to induct him....

Could this mean Austin teaming with McMahon against Orton the following night?

Or it makes sense to Austin get the last laugh and screw him one last time!

As for Vinny Mac inducting him, was never in any doubt!

But what was that fuss over Austin demanding Flair did it?

Not got a clue, I know it was Austin who was a main voice in getting Flair his big farewell retirement angle last year though

Steve Austin was a right good old fashioned wrestler when he was younger and being in WCW he probably considers Flair to be something of a hero to him, thats the only thing I can think of anyway

Yeah Austin has always been a big fan of Flair, and was the one who pushed for the Flair retirement angle last year. He wanted Flair to induct him, but WWE said no almost straight away, I guess they already had him planned to induct Steamboat (seriously, who else could have done it?). Plus it makes more sense for Austin to be inducted by somebody who actually was a major part of his career.

Since when were the Von Erichs confirmed for this year's HOF? The only ones that I have seen been confirmed are Ricky Steamboat, The Funk brothers and Austin. And who is Bill Watts lol?
