Report: Orton Offered New 10 Year WWE Contract?

Randy Orton has been telling friends that WWE offered him a 10-year contract. Although there is still no word on whether Orton will agree to the deal, it says a lot about their faith in the young superstar. As noted over the weekend, WWE is also trying to sign Rey Mysterio to a five-year deal.

10 year deal?! Never heard of a contract like that before but I think Orton will agree to it. Why would he move anywhere else and I can't see him leaving the WWE unless he has a big bust up with HHH or Vince.

I wouldn't sign Mysterio to a 5 year deal, he is injury prone but I suppose WWE are thinking about the amount of merchandise he shifts.

Its a clear indication of how much Vince rates the guy and how he sees the future of the WWE

Reminds me of Vince giving Bret Hart a 20 year contract in 1995 because he was scared Bret would be the next big name to jump ship to Ted Turner

Yeah I can see him being a huge part of the company in te near future...hes a terrific talent and he should stay for 10 years

Its not hard to see why though, his aura is similar to that of Stone Cold

maybe they need to get him signed up so this storyline that is brewing can be one that comes back when some of the next gen guys are THE big names in wwe.

in many a year time orton ted cody etc could dominate the wwe talent wise and its always best to have the key to it all around still.

I think Vince is in a position now where he has built some pretty big stars like he did 10-12 years ago, and doesn't want to run the risk of losing these stars, maybe not to rival companies but definitely to Hollywood

Plus Orton is one of the few solely WWE-bred superstars, if I remember correctly. Even though Vince has built up many great wrestlers in his time, it is rare that they, in every aspect of their popularity, are a product of WWE.

Christian Cage, por ejemplo, would be a counter-example, or CM Punk.

Orton's been around WWE, since he was a kid following his old man. I think Vince kinda sees him as a surrogate son.

Randy has the look, the talent and has been doing something the last few months that not many others have done - he's got himself more over by not wrestling. If he has got himself a ten year deal, then fair play to him - he's one of the guys who I do genuinely see main-eventing for most of that time, if he stays fit and 'Wellness-Test clean'...
