| With the likely-hood that Mick Foley either as himself or under one of his guises will be heading to TNA it gives the show a much needed boost and gives more people more of a reason to watch TNA, Foley wasn't much of a commentator for SMACKDOWN but his last act seems to be that promo with Edge and if it did anything then it highlighted just how good and enjoyable he can still be, even if he is not flying off cages or going through tables.
I would like to see TNA copy the WWE in some sense and create an evolution type stable with Foley taking the Flair role, I would like to see Christian Cage as the top guy in this stable with Matt Morgan and possibly Eric Young as the young pretenders to Cages throne.
The name could be something simple like 'Preparation'!
I think Morgan is doing well at the moment but people don't seem to be that interested if viewing figures are to be believed (they seem to drop when he is doing his usual squash) Eric Young is in major need of some kind of serious gimmick or he will eventually fade away completely and Christian Cage for some reason has been kept away from the top end of the show for far to long.
I think the Ric Flair role could suit Foley down to a tee, he would not be expected to wrestle too often and when he did it could be as a tag team and as a singles it could have plenty of outside interference and he could focus on being the manager of this with the Instant Classic taking up the captains role of this stable.
Looking at this I believe that this would be fantastic for TNA, it would give all of the guys I listed an instant boost and give Mick Foley a ready made top angle to be involved in as soon as he has stepped into the iMPACT! zone.
Ric Flair ------------------ Mick Foley/Cactus Jack Triple H ------------------ Christian Cage Batista ------------------ Matt Morgan Randy Orton ----------- Eric Young

| I missed the whole Evolution thing and from what i saw it was gold. The only thing that i could say is that Eric Young MIGHT of been fucked up with his sily gimmicks.
I think having Foley in the manager role similar to flair would be great costing people matches .
In my opinoin im yet to be impressed by morgan especially has they made him look weak 2 weeks running know.
Christian cage we know can play the leadear role down to a tee [christians coalision]
Good article .good read and good idea

| I have lost a lot of interest in TNA over the last 4/5 months but this is something that I could see getting me back into watching it again, even if it is just on here that I bothered to watch it anyway.
I agree about Morgan, that is why I choose him, I think if he was insanely over as either face or heel it would be pointless putting him in such a stable where he would not have a lead role, however in this they could build him up slowly but with enough purpose and the same goes for Young too, he has had his fair share of stupid gimmicks and living in this kind company for me would be extremely beneficial to his career and finally get him over as a serious competitor!

| Young deserves to as well he is one of the most loyal people in the company including roode. And roode is bieng rewarded so why not give Young something instead of this diabolical brothers of justice | |

| I would like to see Roode given the push he deserves, he is a top class heel and I think he will be a top class draw in a couple of years
I would not include him in this kind of stable though as I believe he is better than just a Morgan or a Young although if Cage was not selected as the main event guy then Roode would be a good choice
I also think Young is very talented however he never seems to get over, thats why I choose him. You cant just pick all the guys you like or all the guys that are over, you just need guys who can vastly improve and need the push and working with guys like Foley and Cage on a constant basis would only improve

| Not got a clue, I don't really watch much TNA and even then I was only by that point watching the Christian scenes and watching the whole Angle Karen Styles and Tomko stuff, most of the rest was just passed by, unless it was Jay Lethal | |

| Good idea gaffer, not totally sold on Eric Young, like Jnr said he might be beyond repair. If you wanted to use him in a role similar to that of Bobby Dempsey in RoH, whereby he's the guy the rest of the stable picks on and slaps around etc. then that might work.
As for Elix Skipper, with XXX splitting up due to Christopher Daniels 'firing' and Senshi leaving, there wasn't really a place for Elix. He was capable of pulling off the spectacular at times, but he was sloppy and a danger to himself and others.

| I see this as a last chance salon for Young, I do think he has the ability and he does actually have the look, I think all he needs is a couple of serious promos with Mick Foley to find his inner man, someone who is not affraid and someone who is willing to grow the hell up, something similar to the Foley Edge promo | |

| I didn't pick choices that would be instantly over with everyone either, obviously guys would need tweaked, it would have been unthinkable in 1995/96 to think that the 123 kid or Billy Gunn could be considered cool enough to be included in one of the best factions ever | |

| I always found DX pretty pathetic, so in my mind they fit right in. But I know what you mean, the first stable you mentioned Evolution, managed to make stars out of Orton who had been a bland babyface, and Batista who had been the evangelical D-Von's associate.
Matt Morgan certainly has all the tools needed, the look, a decent array of power moves, and he has pretty good mic skills too. He just needs something to really get him over big, as squashing jobbers can only go so far. As part of a stable he could be utilised well in the enforcer type role.
Eric Young, while a decent wrestler, the current gimmick has killed him, and I feel it would take more than a couple of serious promos to overcome that. I think if they were to do this, the stable would have to be heel, as that's the only way I think you could get fans to take Young seriously is if he turned. Plus face stables are always pretty lame anyway.

| Why did you think of DX as pathetic?
I though the original DX was fantastic and completely fresh, well to the WWF anyway
After Michaels left they where never the same in terms of main event level however some of there promos and there matches with the Nation where fantastic
All about opinions though, being more of a WCW guy I guess you seen it as blatent copy-cat material

Yeah, guess that would be a problem. Maybe if they start by making Foley a heel when he enters TNA, by joining the old timers in their battle with the young up and comers that's building just now, Christian could even be a part of it. After that angle is finished, you could have Foley and Christian deciding to continue working together and recruiting who they consider to be the best young talent in Morgan and Young. - the-gaffer wrote:

Michaels was the only really good performer in the group for the first few years of it's existence as well. X-Pac was ok, HHH was ok but starting to improve a bit, NAO sucked balls.
