That's just bollocks. Yeah, he moaned about it but who wouldn't? At the same time, he also got on with life in WCW not sit around feeling sorry for himself. Plus, some of the public moaning he did was part of the WCW angles he was involved with. How can you say he should be in here after all he did for the sport. He carried WWF through some really rough spots and was probably one of the best wrestlers we have ever seen. If the Montreal Screw job happened to Michaels would you really expect him to just accept it and never mention it again? I think not. As for changing the business, Hart was doing plenty to help that. Look at his WM13 match if you don't believe me.

Yes Bret was one of the ALL TIME greats. Don't get me wrong on that matter. I am not questioning Bret's ability in the ring at all.
What I am questioning though is him since Montreal.
That event changed wrestling forever.
Some like HBK & HHH moved onwards and upwards.
Some like Vince even created a persona, probably the greatest heel persona in wrestling from that night.
But Bret?
No he just sulked about it for nearly 10 years.
Everyone in wrestling knows that matches are pre determined.
Bret refused to lose that match under instruction.
Vince had already seen the former women's champion turn up on WCW with the WWF belt and dump it in a bin.
He knew he couldnt see the same again with Bret.
If Bret had done the job he was paid for and accepted the loss he wouldnt have been screwed.

As the saying goes

Bret screwed Bret

That's why he should go in the Hall of Shame.

I still don't blame him. He worked his testicles off for that company and couldn't stand HBK. Why should he, after all them years, have to drop the belt to a cocky, disrespectful idiot like Michaels in front of his home fans? That was just too much. He was prepared to drop it to anyone but Michaels yet Vince chose not to let that happen. I truly believe he wouldn't have done a Medusa but that isn't the issue and it's impossible to contest that. Vince knew long before Survivor Series he was going yet he had to propose such ridiculous terms which were almost impossible for Bret to agree with. He's been the bigger man now anyway and accepted what happened so there's no reason why he should be in the HOS. The positives of his legacy far outweigh the negative aspects.

after reading Bret Harts autobiography and seeing the wrestling with shadows documentary. There is no way that Bret hart should be in the HOS. Bret hart was one of the best if not the best technical wrestlers on the WWF. He also had creative control over the last 30 days of his contract (i think it was 30 not sure tho) which is why he had a right to moan about the screwjob. He was loyal to wwf/e and didn't want to leave so he shouldnt be in the hall of shame

Christ, I'm such a mark when it comes to Bret Hart (so rememer who can edit posts when voting lol).

I voted no. If there is still talk going around that Benoit was great despite him murdering and all I don't see why Bret Hart can not be great.

Not the best of arguments, I know, but it has been a rather long day.

Anyway, Benoit is still adored because he was a great technical wrestler. So was Bret, and all Bret did was being a sourpuss, and for understandable reasons.

Plus: I thought that even though Bret shouldn't have been pissed off for that long it still is an immense display of his integrity. Think about how many times Hulk Hogan was mad at McMahon and vowed by the life of his children that he'd never, ever work for the WWE again, and look how many times he came crawling back to Vince.

I think bret hart deserves alot of credit a very good entertainer and a very good wrestler. He never ever hurt anybody and always did what was asked of him. Was a very loyal servent to WWF and WCW and got major story lines since 1994. He dedicated his time also training other wrestlers and was the master of technical wrestling. Would love to see him come back hes a legend for real.
