Same Mackem. It was always coming, but WWE milked it because Jericho was so over. It made the turn matter more and instantly made KO the man he was before though.
The only problem with the friendship was that Jericho is so much more charismatic than KO (KO did have some great moments) and without KO being able to beat people up on his own his own character got weak. I'd not be surprised if he Powerbombs Goldberg on the apron and gets a really cheap win or double count out/dq retain. It won't hurt Goldberg and it will keep KO as a legit prizefighter, only interested in the money, title etc. The Universal title won't get it's instant legit boost, but retaining vs Goldberg would start KO on his own path to add some meaning to the belt. Then Jericho or Balor can boost it up a bit more.
It would be easy to have Lesnar v Goldberg for the title, but that would make the entire card look pretty pointless under them lol. Whereas a big heated rivalry for no title can still be a key Mania moment, but maybe part timers have to accept their part time spot (even if they are cash cow's) the money will still be made regardless of when the match is or what it's for.
