The WWE Network launches in the UK on Monday. First month is free, then $9.99 per month from December. So we're getting the Survivor Series for free.

The USA deal always had *with a 6 month subscription

Is there a way to trial how well it works here without a subscription? No one wants 6 months of buffering shows, even if one of them is free!

So how do you watch it then? On the inter web or is there a TV channel on sky?

They had their quarterly financial results thingy yesterday, and Vince has announced they'll be doing a Netflix-type thing, $9.99 a month, with no financial commitment to subscribe.

Macks, it's an interweb thing. You can get an app and watch on an iPad or other type of thing, there's a link on their website if you have a laptop or PC, Xbox 360 or One, but no idea about a PS3/4.

I'm on the WWE emailing list, this is what I got sent:

Directly from WWE, WWE Network will be available for FREE starting Monday, November 3 through the end of the month, including Survivor Series, on Web, iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Go to wwe.com on Monday, November 3 at 8 pm GMT to sign up. WWE Network will be available to you on other platforms, including Xbox One and Xbox 360, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku streaming devices, and select Smart TVs on Tuesday, November 18 in time for Survivor Series so you can watch on your big screen TV.

Beginning in December, WWE Network will be available for US$9.99 per month with no commitment.

Not a fan of watching it on the net but at £6.25 per month. It's cheaper than paying £15 on the PPV's so I may give it a go for a few months.

If the web version of the network doesn't work on a ps3/4 or there's no app then I won't subscribe. I don't really want to watch wrestling on a laptop with a small screen and useless sound.

What's your set up going to be like Grec? I can see it being a good deal for PPV's if it's good quality on a TV through a console or smart TV box. You'll have to let us know how good it really is as a TV service

Plan is to get it on my laptop, and then string up to my big screen TV using an HDMI cable. The connection to the web could be my biggest problem, but mostly because I live in a small village that has a shite web connection anyway.

it's a good excuse/reason to watch live when possible. Off peak internet might be faster!

Watching Mania live at the same time as the rest of the planet could be the tricky bit. Still, it has replays up from the moment it finishes broadcasting, so I'll be able to catch that instead.

I'd imagine it was something to do with the sky TV deal.

Sky will loose a shit loads of PPV buys.

It's crossed my mind if WWE are trying to get Sky to have a WWE only paid channel in the UK, bung Raw, Smackdown and all the PPV's on it, and either add it to the Sports package or have it like Man Utd TV and have it as a standalone subscription channel. They've got something similar in Canada.

That would be better all round. I remember watching the wrestling channel years ago. I didn't know half the people on it but it was wrestling and it was available when ever I wanted to watch it.

Sky are reporting that the network being pulled has nothing to do with them.

Aye, that channel was great. Had loads of Punk era RoH, early TNA, Japanese stuff. Loved it.

Would of been better online

Where I think it will be better on a sky channel, I can see why people would prefer it online ( those people are weirdos. I prefer to watch stuf on a TV).

If it is on a sky shamble, I'd hope it can have an interactive red button option so you can watch other stuff.

I personally want to watch all the wcw stuff. I'm currently reading a book about the ratings war and it gives an inside to the booking side of things in wcw.

I've managed to get onto it, using a thing that hides my IP.


First impressions are that it's fucking amazing. I've already explained to the wife that this could be the end of our marriage, and to talk about me nicely to the children.

I have no idea where to start looking. I'm not the most technically gifted guy out there not do I have upto date gadgets. My Xbox isn't wired up to interweb so I'd have to go through lap top / which is riddled with crap and I only use it for word n excel (old school I no).

I have heard good things about it though.

I mentioned it to the IT guys at work. He told me to google something called 'unblock-us', which is this awesome programme which hides your IP address. He uses it and has an American Netflix subscription. I did it, it gives you a step-by-step idiots guide on how to set it up. Nothing to download, and a weeks free trial to make sure it works. I managed to do it and watched this years Rumble match and a Benoit match for old times sake.

After the trial it'll cost $4.99 a month for the unblock, plus $9.99 for the network. Bargain.

Should also add it has every WWE PPV ever, Nitro from the mid 90s and all PPVs, ECW, all the news shows like Countdown, Raw 4 weeks later (most recent one is 20 October, when Rollins neatly impaled himself on the cell), and I can see I'll be spending a lot of time on there.

It would be nice to know if Sky will be offering some sort of deal where the online content is a package on NOW TV. But I reckon it will be £14.99 p/m

Grec, the WWE will take your UK credit card payments but won't let you watch the videos unless you pretend you are in the USA? It's probably going to be the best deal, but will Sky let it continue if it costs them PPV buys?

I had to be a big sneaky and add my PayPal account, rather than a credit card. I just put my postcode as 90210 and it seemed to work.

Now been announced that we will finally get the Network on 19 January, for £9.99 a month, not dollars. So we've been made to wait longer, now have to pay more for it.

I'll believe it when I see it.
