| Well that's wrestlemania over and done with. We have a new WWE world heavyweight champion in Faniel Bryan, who defeated all the odds in beating HHH to open the show then to defeat Batista and randy orton in the main event. On top of that he had an injured shoulder and had to deal with interfeerence form HHH in theain event. Wrestlmania had its happy moment.
John Cena fought his demands and defeated bray Wyatt and what I thought was quite a good match.
Ceasaro won the Andre the giant battle royal by scoop slamming big show and eliminating him.
The shield defeated outlaws and Kane in a very poor and short match. I thought if should of been given more time.
AJ retained her title.
But without a doubt the shock o f the night / week / month / gear / ever was Brock lesnar defeated undertaker to end the streak.
I couldn't believe it. I actually sat there in silence for the rest of the show. I couldn't get into the main event properly.i also think the decision happened mid match.
Anyway, I'll discuss further when I'm awake properly.
21-1... | |

| Hill hogan opening the show at the "silverdome" was a wrestlemania moment in itself. Oh dear that was hurrendous. Stone cold Steve Austin came and joined him and after a while the rock joined him. 3 Icons on the business and all they done was take the piss out of hogan and laughed all through the segment. | |

| Sorry for the number of posts but things keep coming back to me. I thought the band that sang the wyatts entrance absolutely killed the wyatts persona last night. The wyatts are mysterious and dark but with the band playing it brought them into the real world.
Even though the result wasn't popular I can see why they done it. I think Wyatt is a type of guy that doesn't need wins to be over. Last night did him know harm. When he popped up to do that crab position before the 5 knuckle shuffle was awesome.
I also wonder if the shield has upset someone.baxkstage. It was rediculous the amount of time they got. Undertakers entrance got more time than them.
Randy orton took a hell of a bump doing the RKO with Bryan. I wonder if he'll get Batista fired like he did with Kennedy for not clearing te table properly

| I'm with you Mack, I was in shock for the rest of the event, I couldn't believe what happened and I couldn't get into the main event as good as it was.
John Cena v Bray Wyatt was a decent match. Shield v Kane/NAO was horrible, was over before it had even started. HHH v Bryan at the beginning was good, Stephanie looked great, what I'd do to give her a portion.
Battle royal was better than I had expected, couldn't believe Cesaro slammed Big Show, that has to be a WM moment for years to come.
Not really bothered about the diva's match, thought it was great how AJ won, grabbing Naomis? hand and making her tap, excellent work and I don't think it's ever been done before.
Well, 21-1, I still can't believe it, will take a few days for it to set-in just like when united won champions league in 2008, i couldn't believe it for a good few days. Apparently on a few wrestling sites, that after the Taker v Lesnar match, Taker, Lesnar and Vince went to hospital with Taker, not sure what happened to Undertaker during the match, maybe an old injury popped up again like his neck or knee. I think you maybe right Mack, that the decision was changed half way through the match. When the bell rang and there was that minute of silence, I thought the ref had made a mistake and counted too quickly or Taker wasn't able to get his arm up to break out of the pin.
For the main event, it was a good match, I thought HHH/Steph would have had more of an interference but I guess it was enough, was a nice touch introducing Scott Armstrong who I don't think has been since screwing Bryan over a few months back. That announce table spot was good, I thought Orton had cleared the table cos i didn't see anything on it, I guess he didn't move the monitor out of the way properly, when he landed on the monitor, damn that must of hurt, he was cut open to by the corners of the monitor. For me it proves Orton is a tough guy cos that must of hurt. When the stretcher came out I thought whoever gets on it is coming back out a couple minutes later, it didn't even get up the ramp lol.
A deserved win for Bryan, but all I will remember WM30 is Undertaker losing the streak and I'm sure that's the same for everyone.
Overall I'd give it a 9 out of 10. A good WM. Oh I also think Undertaker will retire now because there's no streak to come back for to defend. I wonder if Lesnar will have more of a role now and now just a part timer.

I don't think Lesnar beating taker was the plan, it looked like Leasnar won by mistake.

| Jack, it looked like Steph done her ankle on when Bryan dove on them. Possibly that's why they didnt get much involved.
I'm still hoping for one more match with undertaker. I hope sting turns up on raw tonight!

| I was completely shocked with the streak ending and Lesnar being the guy to end the streak, I do think however it was done to set up sting vs taker so no body nos whos going to win as the streak is gone and takes the focus off that.
I wished the shield got more time on there match and cut down the divas match instead.
Wyatt is one creepy fucker the way he popped up like a spider when cena was gonna hit the 5 knuckle shuffle was class and I wish they would have let cena put him over.
Glad cesaro won the battle royal hopefully hes going to get a mid card push now and get away from this stupid real Americans shit.
the triple treat was class and very enjoyable and the batista bomb into a rko musta hurt orton landing square on that monitor was another class match though.
All in all I think it was one hell of a wrestlemania and I really enjoyed it had the best shock of the night with taker losing and matches were top quality.

| Think Brock beating Taker was always the plan, in the past apparently Taker has offered Brock the streak as they have good respect for each other. Also the 21-1 image was up pretty quickly, they probably just didn't start Brock's music straight away as the stunned silence was better than having Brock's music playing. I think that could be Taker done now which is also why the streak went, apparently Taker went to hospital with neck injuries and a suspected concussion, the neck injury apparently happened early in the match.
For me though the best 2 matches were the opener with Bryan and Triple H and then the main event, that Batista Bomb into an RKO was brutal especially for Orton. I did love however the Orton/Batista team up in the main event.
Was anyone following Paddy Power's twitter page? Whoever was doing that was an absolute hero

| I'm 33 years old, going to be 34 in a few weeks. Wrestlemania 9 was the first Mania I saw, only because my grandparents got Sky TV and recorded it for me. Over the years I've seen Undertaker win, have the best matches not only on the Mania card, but of the WWE year. Then today happened. It genuinely feels like a part of my childhood has ended.
As for the rumours that Brock switched the ending, total rubbish. He only hooks one leg, Taker doesn't even try to kick out. It was all planned.
As for the rest of the card, loved it. One of the best Mania's I've seen in the past few years, and it does feel like WWE actually started to position the next cycle. Cesaro looked an absolute beast, him picking up Show was stunning enough, let alone when he started to walk with him towards the ropes. Shield got to squash 3 veterans, Bryan went over Trips, Orton and Batista in one night...
Annoyed Wyatt didn't win, but the way the match was laid out, I don't think the loss is that damaging to him.
I'm really looking forward to Raw tonight to see what happens next. Heyman is going to be awesome.

| I agree Grec. I'm 30. Wrestlemania 9 was my first mania I remember fondly. Taker has always been there winning. I was in total shock last night. I haven't heard any rumours about Brock switching the finish but do suspect a decision was made during the match. I believe that it was always meant to have Brock end the streak bit the finish seemed sudden - even though it was his 3rd F5.
Like you I don't think wyatts loss did any real damage. As said before, can see why Cena won. Was it the end of their fued? Possibly but I hope not.

I hope not. If Sting really is going to compete at WM31 then let it be against someone other than the Undertaker. Let the Undertaker go out now. Really, last night's match was pretty poor and the crowd were dead for most of it. I really think Taker's past his best now and with the Streak broken, it feels like a natural end for him. If he came back again next year it would feel like an anti-climax. I really enjoyed the rest of the event too. The right people won in pretty much all the matches and they definitely look to be building for the future. Let's hope they stick with it. Even Batista was tolerable!

Agreed although I think they kept it a closely guarded secret that Lesnar was going to win. I suspect most of the guys in the locker room didn't have a clue.

| I've not seen any wrestling in ages, What was the build up to Lesner vs Taker. Was it a decent storyline worthy of the streak going? I was shocked when I read the results this morning I didn't think the streak was ever getting ended. Is Brock back full time now if not it seems a bit weird letting a part timer go over Taker.

The build-up was basically making Lesnar look as weak as possible, which looking back now, was just to make it all the more shocking. Plan worked a treat! As for Lesnar being the guy to end it, that makes sense too. If WWE had gone with someone like Roman Reigns, whoever ends it is immediately a heel. In terms of realism, it's completely understandable that he's lost to a former UFC champ; I've read online that Lesnar has signed a new contract which includes more appearances, which if true could put him in the WWE title picture - he was starting to demand a title shot at Elimination Chamber. Long-term, I think this makes sense - as stunned as I was when it happened.

| loved Hulk, austin and the rock, they show how confidence in promo's mean you can recover from fuck ups and make it better. the rest of WM? Slow and predictable. Taker looked garbage, sorry to all the nostalgia but he was done from the opening bell. JBL comment "he's wrestling on his back" no way he could have won seeing that. Brock was struggling to keep up to the slow pace ironically, as he didn't know how to not just stand there waiting. Both looked terrible from that point, because you wouldn't just stand there waiting. I'm annoyed they didn't try to make it look morecontroversial with a submission win with no tap out but ref stopping it for safety.
I think I just hate wrestlemania, it's always slow but not methodical like the old days, just slow. As soon as taker lost Bryan was going to win, which ruined the main event for me anyway.
I'll add more on the streak though, as I said before Brock is young enough to run with it. He'll be 5-0 at WM in no time. And that's the beauty of streaks, they START on every win, even if he's lost at WM he can go on a mini streak. I look forward to Brock vs Punk 31. (Cena otherwise) #UNDERwhelmer (sorry again but Taker ruined WM) [for me]
'there's also the concern maybe taker is on his way out, if they kept him away from any moves until Raw. They must have been worried and can't afford him missing it. In that case Brock is 36 so young enough to beat Taker and stick around for 10 years..' I think it was obvious at Mania Taker was on his last legs
and DBry well done, good end but I still feel lacking of goosebumps

| I don't think Bryan will be a long reigning champion. I think he'll be booked mpre like The Rock or Austin where they'd hold the title for a few months, lose it, chase it, win it again, and so on. I find lengthy title reigns in this day and age can make the champs look a bit dull and stale after a while. Mixing things up a bit and having, say, Batista winning it a couple of months down the road would, I think, keep Bryan's character both interesting and believable. | |

| or set Brock on him tonight. From HHH character point of view, who is now the most capable of beating him? Beating the streak must get you free Reign on any champion. Also, when it sinks in, brock can be built as a huge heel, fans will be lively as fuck tonight. (it would probably be wrong to make Bryan lose so quickly, and pointless, from a purists stand point, but fuck being a purist, shake things up and go a little mad) in a way there's nowhere for Brock to go other than the title, but also there's no point in Bryan winning to lose it so soon. apart from making REAL heels that the live crowd actually hate, because they take booking in to account for reasons to boo people. | |
