Who Is The Secret Footballer ?

The Secret Footballer is a undercover footballer of a current Premier League football team who contributes articles to the Guardian newspaper and has authored the book I am the Secret Footballer. The identity of the secret footballer is debated and a blog has been put together withclues from various columns and tweets in an attempt to uncover the footballer's identity. The Secret footballer is known to be English, married and to have played for at least two Premiership clubs.

Some of his tweets make it sound like their coming to the end of their career and they have played for Manchester United. From that i reckon it could be Michael Owen.

Andy Johnson.

I thought Andy Johnson, however the guys says he was player of the year twice in a row, Andy Johnson hasn't been after a quick search.

The other I thought it may be was Jimmy Bullard but again player of the season thing holds that up.
