| I'm a big fan of tag team wrestling. So to say that I'm disappointed by the current state of the so-called tag team 'division' in the WWE is an understatement.
Back in the late 80s and early 90s you could hardly move for tag teams in the WWF. The Hart Foundation, The Buldogs, the Killer Bees, the Rougeaus and so on and so on. At the 1987 Survivor Series they had a 20-man Survivors Series elimination match with 5 teams on each side. That's 10 teams. And they were proper tag teams too - teams that had been together for years in most cases, teams with matching outfits, teams that worked together as teams not as two single guys thrown together.
At the 2010 Survivor Series they have Nexus vs Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov. That these two comedy wrestlers are the number one contenders says it all really. Is there no one better? Oh, wait. No there isn't. Because WWE for some reason think that we need more jobbers for Superstars rather than a tag team division. Why else would they split up The Hart Dynasty?
The tag team scene in WWE hasn't been this bad since the mid-90s but even the likes of The Smoking Gunns or the BodyDonnas would be preferable to what we currently have.
I'd like to think that things will improve. They did in the late 90s after all when Edge & Christian, the Hardys and the Dudleys arrived on the scene. But back then I got the feeling that the WWF really wanted a competative tag team division. Now I'm not so sure.

| I actually think WWE are ready to just scrap the division. | |

| I'm inclined to agree but then why waste money on new belts only to scrap them a few months later? | |

| Also it means that they can sell a load more replica belts before they get rid of the division. | |

| Yeah i'm a big fan of tag-team matches too. Just another reason why WWF will always be better than WWE. | |

| I reckon WWE should stop throwing random wrestlers together (ie, Santino and Koslov) and have atcual tag teams because now that Hart Dynasty have split up I can't think of any proper tag teams except the Uso's.
TNA on the other hand have a brilliant Tag Team division (i'm talking about the mens tag team division her and not that joke knockout tag team division).

| I watched Raw for the first time the other day and couldn't believe they have turned Kozlov into a comedy face. Thats the type of thing that keeps me away from WWE | |

To be fair Santine and Koslov's partnership was built up somewhat and Beer Money was originally two guys just thrown together The New Age Outlaws was originally a thrown together team too and they made it work. I think Worthy's point is that most tag teams in WWE now do just look like guys being forced to work together. Teams like Beer Money and the Outlaws worked because, although they were thrown together initially they actually establised themselves as bona fide tag teams with team names, proper double team moves, even matching outfits etc. Little things that showed them to be a team rather than just two singles guys working together But I am inclined to think that we aren't likely to see 'proper' tag teams in WWE for some time. When the break up one of the few teams that they do have for no good reason you can tell they couldn't care less about the tag team title.
