Was a great episode of Impact.
Didn't like the closing segment much, anything with EV2.0 loses my attention seeing as their most over guy RVD ( I am not a great fan of ) add to that Dreamer, Team 3D, Rhyno, Dr Stevie are wrestlers I have never liked. ( Cant comment on the old school ECW guys but they don't seem to impress me much either including Sandman and Sabu)
It took me ages to realise who the guy who turned out to be Doug Williams was. I suppose he may be another member of fortune which is great for him along with Morgan who played the arrogant heel well in the anderson/pope match.
Beer MOney/MCMG - what can you say? Simply amazing, the Guns should be the future of TNA and BMI should be involved greater in the present title scene ( especially Roode although Storm has been brilliant recently )
Angle/Styles - Another one that always delivers
Didn't like the Abyss match. I have never been a great fan of Abyss and it seems to me he relies on weapons for his matches which gets tedious after a while.

That segment was great entertainment. James Storm is a god, no idea what he was using but like you said he was carving people up like they were christmas turkey. Glad it wasnt heavily edited, one of the best and most intense segments on a wrestling show that I've recently seen.
The whole RVD thing was pretty cool too. Puts Abyss over as the man who took out the Champ although the blood did look rather fake.
Made me really excited for next weeks iMPACT! could be an awesome story brewing.
As for the rest of the show, the MCMG vs Beer Money series has been amazing, theses guys really put on five incredible matches.
Morgan bores me and the triple threat featuring him, Pope and Anderson was a let down.
AJ vs Angle was a good match to open the show with and even the knockouts match (Rayne looked HOT) was watchable.
Best iMPACT! ive seen.

next week lots of promo to explain too, so i'm looking forward to it, esp as flair is heavilly involved. I was thinking the ending might have been eric turning on rvd, but the bloodbath was so unexpected. Rvd looked like they plan to have him out for a while, looked like it was meant to have ripped his side open but you never know might just be a bandage job and some funny hobble. But it looked like a horror film, possibley a bit too graphic for wrestling, with the rvd corpse lol.

Fantastic episode of Impact, they weren't lying when they said PPV quality matches as Kurt vs AJ was great, MCMG vs Beer Money is probably the best free tv match of the year and the RVD vs Abyss match was surprisingly really good. The show ending angle was done very well (apart from possibly The Sandman posing when he's supposed to be attempting to make the save, but it's Sandman so you gotta let shit like that go) nice to see the guys from Fortune actually look dominating for once, they'd been booked pretty much like jobbers for a while now. the shot of RVD all bloody backstage was great, usually something like that looks pretty fake but they did a good job with it here. I even enjoyed the first half of ReAction as well when they were dealing with the angle and the backstage clip of AJ and Kaz talking about how pissed off they were with Dixie about the constant stream of WWE, WCW and now ECW guys being brought in, and how TNA didn't need them when guys like AJ had been tearing the house down since day one. Fingers crossed they don't fuck this angle up like they usually do.

Very good episode indeed. Match of the night having to be MCMG v Beer Money, by far match of the year by a very long way. The whole series was epic.
The ending was a bit iffy. Did Hulk say what the surprise was this time? It seems every time there is a "surprise" that it is never mentioned.
As said good to see Fortune dominate, although confusing to see Raven now apparently on the side of EV2.0. With the ending it also indicates that they are in TNA to stay for a while.

I loved impact last night,It was a good solid show through out. The mcmg and beer money have proved over the last few weeks there is still room for a really good tag team diversion.James storm impresses me more and more every week. Hardy and moore put on a nice little match with a few good spot's. I liked the way matt morgan ended the match jumping in the ring and stealing the win from anderson.
I can't wait to see what rvd's band of gypsies do to get some revange next week.

I enjoyed this Impact especially that chaos at the end although considering Ric Flairs harsh words against ECW back in the day and his problems with people like Terry Funk, Mick Foley and Shane Douglas as a result, it does seem weird that TNA after trying to bring in the old school ECW fans are having Ric Flairs group get one over on them.
The only snag about the show was Hulks promo as he didn't look like he ment a single word of it (maybe part of the act) and he didn't half talk some bollocks, I mean seriously Hulk, RVD is the hood ornament of TNA? is that why after he won the title within a month in the company and not losing a single match that he is refusing to drop the title and is taking a break for a while... SOME HOOD ORNAMENT!!

splutter, raven realised ecw were in shit so obv he helped. his problem was with tommy and tommy alone, due to personal shit which he put higher than the family of ecw, but tna beating on ecw is differant.
AJ and Kaz talking about how pissed off they were with Dixie about the constant stream of WWE, WCW and now ECW guys being brought in, and how TNA didn't need them when guys like AJ had been tearing the house down since day one
so flair doesnt count in their eyes hope there are not massive plot flaws in this

I think an exception can be made for Flair as he hasn't come in as a wrestler and the guys he has been associating with and aiding are TNA guys except for Morgan, but his time in WWE was largely forgettable so I think it's reasonable to include him.

I'm a bit worried about this storyline to be honest.
I kind of like the idea of it but I'm just not sure the ECW guys are gonna be able to cut it at main event level. Many are out of shape and old plus there is a reason many of them have been out of work for a while.

I'm guessing all the EV 2.0 people that got attacked are contracted to TNA now as there was no New Jack or 2 Cold Scorpio?

I've got the feeling that this angle will see them go up against more than just the ECW guys, they'll likely go after the ex-WCW and WWE guys as well, so there would still be the potential for some good matches in there.

I hope so, cos there's very few within the "ECW" bracket that can perform well anymore, particularly after Hardcore Justice where they basically showed what they are good at.

i kept thinking the announcement would be that ecw guys opened hulks eyes to hardcore so he wanted to bring in a new hardcore division
but looked more like a trap as he just bigged them up then vanished
show was edited a bit for uk i think too, as some things were just learnt off of the commentary i.e show in new york? magnus and wolfe tag team etc.
they need a better play by play guy too for selling big shit. tenay puts me right off with his "and someone just broke their arm, also im wearing red socks today taz" shite

they really need it, i'm sure not many are happy with the lack of selling, its so obvious when something big happens the feeling is dampened by him.

The announcers seem to keep going for this silence thing, pretty sure it's deliberate. Happened again at the end of this show but it keeps happening during matches too.

atleast taz kind of tried to sell, he must notice his partner doesnt too.
i remember when lacey was face down on the floor and velvet was almost crying, then it cut to tenay and taz, taz started to mention it then tenay just went on with the script like he isnt even watching live action

I don't actually mind Tenay too much, he was absolutely essential back in WCW when the horrid combination of Schiavone and Heenan just talked shite throughout each match, Tenay actually called the match, saving the commentary from being totally abysmal. He's not the greatest at selling big moments like you say though, but there's very few these days who can.
As for Joey Styles, he's in charge of wwe.com now. Not sure if he's even interested in doing commentary anymore.
