Under-Rated and Over-Rated Players

I want to know which footballers do you think are over-rated and under-rated in your opinion.

For me, I think Kevin Davies is very under-rated. he holds the ball up well and scores a fair few goals. Yes I agree he gives a few fouls away. Maybe is he was a few years younger he could of been an England International. He plays similar player to Emile Heskey but a better player. I'm suprised he is still a Bolton player. I thought he would of signed for a club playing in Europe.

for an over-rated player, I think Kenwyne Jones is over-rated (yes a Sunderland fan saying that!) In his first season with Sunderland he was good playing up front on his own. the past few years when he plays up front with someone he becomes very lazy in my opinion. Hopefully next season he will prove me wrong.

I think davies was one of those under rated players who then got over rated by anyone on motd or in the media because everyone started saying he was under rated and hes so good then it got carried away.

he's still at bolton because he is good, but suits their football and would be a risk I think at a bigger club, as he may end up flopping massively by being the worst 1st teamer at a bigger club

something like that anyway lol.

I take it though you would prefer bent and davies, to jones?

over rated player 1: Jason bloody scotland! he is league one not premiership, just like the wigan manager himself. (okay championship/lg1)

John Terry! i wont even go into the fact he NEEDS a world class defender next to him to even look okay-good

I would say yes I think.

most underated (championship anyway) Lee Johnson, most City fans couldn't see past his selection in the team being because of his dad, when in reality he passed the ball very well and had very good movement on the pitch never giving up. But one mistake and he was the worst player in our team again.

hence overatted you can pull stats all day but he isnt conssitent and never plays as well people say he does

Over-rated:

Agbonlahor - all pace, no control, no finishing.
Ashley Young - defences have worked out how to play him,, and he was pretty ineffective last season.
Terry - Over-rated as a player, and as a captain.

Underrated

Dirk Kuyt- hes a player the opposition always like to slate, but he puts a shift in every game, and pops up with a decent amount of goals even though hes out on the wing most of the time

Over-Rated - Aiden McGeady

Think plenty of people would stick Joe Cole in either category, hardly anyone seems to think he's just OK.

Over-rated:

Tim Cahill (only gets recognised for his heading ability, he is actually quite good on the floor)
Danny Murphy (hate the bastard but he is under-rated)

Craig Bellamy (same as Murphy, hes a bastard but he is a good player and most people dont see this)

Decent player but not as good as player as he is made out to be.He scored something like 7 goals in the league,which for a striker is shit!

And maybe a tad controversial but for me Bobby Zamora,One good season in the premiership suddenly out weights all the other shit ones that he had and he should be playing for England????

Jermaine Jenas is also Over-Rated.

Always thought that both Gary and phil Neville were very underrated, especially Gary.

and also Rio, I understand why people don't like him and think the exact opposite to me, but when you watch us week in week out and he is not playing, you can really tell. Vidic is half the player when Rio is not their(Terry/Carvalho anyone).

I think hes pritty shite. Hes a poor mans Ronaldo in my opinion

Nani is growing on me, the last half of last season he was def showing signs of improvement and most importantly consistancy.

Yer I guess you have a point, but he was brought in to be the next Ronaldo and is no where near as good and he probably contributed to Utd not winning the title last year cos he couldnt come up with the goals that Ronaldo did
