Booked #2 - The expansion of Nexus

Lately I've been toying with the idea of booking my own opinion on how I'd like to see certain angles go, the last time I did it I wrote about The Undertaker, so this time after having a look at it and thinking Nexus is one of the most interesting possibilities going in the WWE at the moment although I've still to really work out which way they are going with it, so here goes, my take on what they could possibly do with Nexus.

As always you can all add your thoughts and opinions, good or bad to it and even add your own ideas on how you'd like to see it played out

Wade Barrett returns to RAW and calls a ceasefire with the WWE locker room for the time being, at Titan Towers last week he on behalf of Nexus and WWE officials came to an agreement that would see no more beatings placed on WWE talent without justification, Nexus are allowed to compete on RAW and are allowed to retaliate to any force or intimidation they feel but only if they are not the instigators, if they are perceived to be the instigators then everyone of their contracts will be terminated as per the agreement last week with Wade Barrett.

The Anonymous GM sends an e-mail announcing that due to him not wanting the WWE title match to be in jeopardy at MitB Cena and Sheamus will not be involved in tonight's main event

Later on in the night during an 8 man tag main event, Barrett, Gabrielle, Slater and Otunga vs Edge, Orton, Evan Bourne and Ted DiBiase Jr near the end of the match Tarver, Sheffield and Young jump on the apron, immediately Cena & Sheamus (who are out doing commentary) jump up to back up the WWE guys, thats 'justified retaliation' to Nexus and all seven of them eventually all end up in the ring beating up the four WWE guys, Barrett brings out handcuffs and slaps them on Cena who has been detained by a couple of Nexus guys and Sheamus jumps the barrier and watches from afar, RAW goes off air with Cena helplessly watching Nexus destroy Bourne, Edge and Orton while Ted manages to escape.

The following week, RAW starts with Michael Cole reading out an e-mail from the GM stating that he takes responsibility for last week as he made the main event so he put people in a position to get hurt, on that note, Nexus will be in action again tonight, but only in singles action and at no time will other members of Nexus be at ringside

Bourne gets some revenge on David Otunga while Wade Barrett gets a win over R-Truth, Justin Gabrielle beats Zack Ryder and Heath Slater gets a win over Santino, the Main Event of the night is the contract signing for MitB between Cena/Sheamus, Nexus appear on the Tron and talk about how both should be fresh since neither got their hands dirty last week, both had great views from very different parts of the arena, Cena from the ring ropes handcuffed and Sheamus from row Z since he ran away, this makes Cena angry and calls Sheamus a chicken for running, Sheamus tells him "Fella, if you're the Doubleya Doulbeya E champion, you need to put yourself first" and Cena tries to attack him, the security that the GM has ordered though manages to just about keep them apart as RAW goes off air

At MitB the World Title match is going without a hitch until Nexus interrupt, Wade Barrett announces that as he has been reinstated he wants his World Title stipulation to be reinstated too, he also wants to be involved with the match, Cena attacks just as Michael Cole informs us the GM sends an e-mail stating Barrett will not be involved in the title match, as Barrett is basically being attacked, Nexus run out and as Sheamus and Cena stand side by side more WWE guys come out to help them, Sheamus noticing an opportunity sneaks back inside the ring and is standing alone as Cena gets counted out, Sheamus retains.

RAW starts with Cena, not the all smiling Cena, an angry man possessed who wants to know who the GM is, he wants Nexus and he wants Sheamus, Cole tells us that the GM said that as of last night, John Cena is no longer in contention for the WWE title and its time to give someone else an opportunity, Cena feels robbed, he also tells Cena that maybe he should sort out his problems with Nexus first before trying to recapture the WWE title.

By the time SummerSlam time comes along Randy Orton is the #1 contender to the WWE Title, the beatings handed out by Nexus have calmed down slightly but the intimidating group are still very vocal and still very dominating, Wade Barrett has a match with Cena at SummerSlam and thanks to a distraction by the returning Bryan Danielson, Barrett manages to get the win, Danielson was out to help Cena but Cena didn't trust him, Danielson is trying to explain when Cena gives him an Attitude Adjustment, Randy Orton wins the WWE title at SummerSlam.

The following night on RAW, Randy Orton opens up the show with his new World Title, Michael Cole cuts him off with an e-mail from the GM telling him that at Night of Champions he will be facing Wade Barrett who by the original terms of his WWE contract has a WWE title match contract and he is cashing it in at Night of Champions

At Night of Champions Nexus are at ringside, John Cena runs down to the ring alongside Bryan Danielson, Triple H makes his return and comes out and after making an agreement with Cena & Danielson, turns on Cena and takes him out, Danielson looks bemused, Orton looks confused as does Barrett and the rest of Nexus, Orton catches Barrett with an RKO for the win

HHH opens up RAW, he tells the crowd that all is not what it seems, through Michael Cole the GM asks him to explain his actions, Triple H tells us that something isn't quite right, while Nexus are clearly responsible for their actions, he knows that someone else is behind it, and after plenty of consideration he believes that its John Cena, Cena comes out, looking shocked and stunned but denies all involvement, he asks the 'Universe' to stay with him and to keep believing in him and he challenges HHH to justify his accusation.
After the main event of the night Nexus come out and Wade Barrett reveals that they aren't working alone, he admits that their is someone behind them, someone big but refuses to reveal who it is, Cena comes out and demands they tell the World who it is, Triple H follows him out to the stage and tells Cena to just confess, Cena tells him not to accuse him again, maybe since he knows so much he might have something to tell everyone, and Cena and Triple H brawl it out on top of the stage as RAW goes off air.

Following week Randy Orton comes out, he calls out Triple H and Cena, he demands to know the truth, this brings out Edge, Sheamus and Chris Jericho, they also want to know whats going on, they believe as former World Champions in the business they deserve to know who the traitor is, just as they say that, Nexus appear on the Tron, Barrett tells them to relax, there are more big name players in the WWE than the 6 guys in the ring, this leaves all 6 staring each other down.
Later on in the night in the RAW main event its Randy Orton & Bryan Danielson vs Wade Barrett & Justin Gabrielle, just as Nexus jump the barriers and surround the ring, John Cena comes running out and starts to clean house until he gets overpowered and then Triple H's music kicks in, he comes out and makes the save and as RAW is about to go off air with Orton/HHH/Cena/Danielson are standing back to back after clearing house, Michael Cole tells us that the RAW GM has made the RAW Hell in a Cell main event an 8 man tag and if RAW guys win, Nexus have to reveal who their secret leader is

At Hell in the Cell John Cena is taken out just before the start of the match backstage, so the match itself is 4-3, near the end of the match Cena manages to make it down to ringside, he breaks the Cell door open just as Triple H manages to get on top, HHH has Barrett set up for the Pedigree when he sees Cena, he throws Barrett to the mat and goes over and offers his hand to Cena, Cena gives him it then Triple H turns his back on Cena, he picks up Barrett again, then throws him straight into spearing Cena, he then hits Orton and Danielson with a pedigree as they lay broken on the floor and Barrett hits Cena with the 'Wasteland' and Gabriel goes to the top rope and hits his 450 splash, Barrett covers Cena with his foot for the 123 and Nexus come out to celebrate with Triple H at the centre of the group.

Triple H flanked by Nexus open up RAW, smugly swaggering down the ramp they are in celebration mode for most of the promo, Wade Barrett tells us "As an act of good faith, even though we won the 8 man tag team man last night fair and square we have decided to reveal who is the mastermind behind Nexus, the only man who came to NXT and treated us with respect, ladies and gentleman I give you Hunter Hurst Helmsley" and Triple H then tells the fans why he helped Nexus dismantle RAW, he said its because he felt he was becoming weak, he needed to show that he was still capable of out and out carnage and with that John Cena's music kicks in, Cena lips to the stage clutching his ribs, He tells them that they will not get away with this, After telling the World it was him that had been the traitor, Triple H will pay for lying to the 'Universe' Trips laughs it off and tells him to go and find some babies to kiss and for some mothers to hug, Ortons music plays out, the WWE Champ doesn't show though, a camera eventually cuts to him backstage lying unconscious, Nexus start heading up the ramp, Cena has no option but to retreat clutching his ribs.

At Bragging Rights Randy Orton retains the WWE title against Chris Jericho while John Cena manages to win a #1 contenders match with Triple H when he catches him with a small package

On RAW Triple H tells John Cena that no matter how many times he manages to get a fluke victory over him, he is still better than him, he is still the Game and its still his to play, Hunter tells Cena that he will never be the World Champion because he simply wont allow it, Randy Orton cuts him off, he tells Triple H that he is right, Cena wont be Champion anytime soon but that's nothing to do with Triple H and his little harem, that's because Orton says he can beat John Cena on his own in the middle of the ring, Michael Cole interrupts both of them and tells them to save it as the GM has just informed him that later on tonight, the main event for the night is Randy Orton vs John Cena.
During the main event John Cena comes out of the crowd and attacks Triple H, he manages to lay a few punches into him until he is out the ring, when Cena turns around he turns right into an RKO, Nexus come out to get Triple H but just all stare at Orton and a prone Cena in the ring as RAW closes.

RAW the following week sees Triple H tell John Cena that his act of idiocy last week will cost him dear, he tells Cena that he will do everything in his power to make sure that baby kissing embarassment does NOT regain the WWE Title......EVER

On RAW next week Michael Cole informs us that Orton/Cena for the WWE Title will have a special guest ring enforcer and that any member of Nexus who comes to ringside during this match will be suspended without pay.

At the Survivor Series the guest ring enforcer is nowhere to be found and referee Mike Chioda takes a crazy bump and is flattended outside the ring, Triple H comes down to ringside with a Sledgehammer just as Randy Orton is on John Cena's shoulders waiting to be given an Attitude Adjustment, Cena spots Triple H out of the corner of his eye and puts Orton down, Cena and Triple H have a stare down and then out of nowhere WHACK, Triple H nails Randy Orton with the Sledgehammer, Orton is lying totally unconcious and then Michael Cole drops his headset and jumps in the ring, Cena Triple H and Cole all look at each other, Triple H grabs Cole's shirt and rips it open to reveal a referees shirt and then Cena drops to the mat, hooks Ortons leg and Michael Cole counts 123 for the pin and for the new WWE Champion John Cena, Survivor Series goes off air with Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker going mental on commentary as John Cena/Triple H and Michael Cole stand celebrating victory in the middle of the ring.

Next night on RAW the show opens with John Cena, Triple H and Michael Cole flanked by Nexus, they tell everybody that they have been duped, they have been played for the fools they are, Cena Cole and Triple H have been the brains behind Nexus all along and now they are big and strong enough to take over the complete running of Monday Night RAW, Cole reveals that he is the General Manager of RAW and he used an e-mail account as a rous to fool all of the fans and guys in the back and it couldn't have worked out any better, complete perfection Cole calls it, he also tells us why he is above the laws of WWE Management "With a Golden handcuffs contract that prevents Vince McMahon from firing me its high time I told some damn truths about 'this company' and This entire Industry and its high time Michael Cole made a statement to the WWE Universe about who is running this show and who has been the brains behind the burtality" Cole also tells us that since the fans never accepted him, they can have JR back behind the desk, JR returns to RAW.

RAW is in complete shock for the rest of the show as Nexus take complete control, Orton is banned from the arena while Edge & Jericho try to take a stand against the group, Sheamus is pondering if he should man up or not, he decides its best to let others deal with this fight.

Vince McMahon makes his return to RAW the following week surrounded with bodygaurds, its the first time he has been back since the brutal beating by Nexus in June, He demands answers from Cole, he tells him that he gave him the opportunity of a lifetime and he stabbed him in the back, Cole comes out and reminds Vince that it was he who hung himself when he fired Bret Hart from his duties, "Better the Devil you know Vince" said Cole.

Cena beats Randy Orton in the World Title re-match at TLC, and RAW opens up with Nexus and we here Cena telling Orton "You know it and I know it Randy, you just can't beat me, I've heard you scream "I Quit" and I've beaten you in an Iron Man Match, that was on my own, Now with the power of Nexus behind me, the agression of Triple H and the brains of Michael Cole, I'm simply unbeatable, you know it, I know it and every single damn person in this arena and watching at home knows it"

Vince McMahon interrupts, he tells them that they have all just made the biggest mistake of their lives, they are forcing him to do something he promised he would never do, if this Hell in Earth does not stop soon McMahon cannot be held responsible for what in his words say "NEED TO BE DONE"

Michael starts the show, he tells the guys in the back that they have a chance to stop him from doing what he deems unthinkable, they need to step up to the plate, they need to show they can save RAW from Nexus, Jericho comes out to his old countdown before acting very Y2J-ish he tells Vince that he doesn't like him and never has but he does like the WWE title and he does like to put a nose of proportinate size (HHH reference) out of joint so Vince doesn't need to ask him to step up to the plate, he is on top of the plate right now, Edge comes out and does the same, he is sick and tired of Nexus being the only thing RAW talks about, he is the Rated R Superstar and wants the attention back on him, Sheamus comes out and tells Vince he can count on him, but only on his terms, Orton comes out and puts the entire RAW roster on notice

At the Royal Rumble Nexus have vowed to win the Rumble to protect John Cena's WWE Title, near the end of the Rumble its CM Punk, Edge Christian, Triple H, Wade Barrett and Skip Sheffield, Punk manages to backstab Christian and throw him over the top, Edge and Punk get into it because they where meant to be sticking up for one another, Punk gets thrown out, then Triple H, Sheffield and Barrett all stock Edge, slowly they are letting the fans take in whats happening, then out of nowhere the RAW locker room bursts out, Nexus soon follow and you have a big brawl in the middle of the ring involving near on 20 guys, Randy Orton is RKO-ing everyone in sight, Jerichio is attacking Gabriel and manages to eliminate him but Nexus do take control and beat the life out of guys like Bourne, Mark Henry, R-Truth, Santino, William Regal, The Miz and John Morrison, they also pound Edge until he is a battered pulp in the middle of the ring, then the lights go out, the beat of the music is rather familiar but no one wants to say it until the first sounds of his name air through the speakers......GOLDBERG....GOLDBERG.......GOLDBERG........
Bill Goldberg returns to the WWE and with carnage all over the ring he just comes in as the lights come up and starts destroying absolutely everyone of Nexus who are left in the ring, Slater, Tarver, Otunga and Sheffield, then he looks at Triple H, who is standing over a dead looking Edge, Triple H shows fear for the first time since he was revealed as one of the brains behind Nexus, he puts his hands up and pleads, Goldberg just spears him out of his boots, picks him up, bang JACKHAMMER and then he proceeds to throw him over the top rope and Edge for the second year in a row is the winner of the Royal Rumble.

Vince McMahon opens up RAW, he tells everyone that Goldberg is the guy he didn't want to bring back, when Goldberg is around anything and everything can happen, despite what Nexus had did to him and numerous WWE employees over the last 7 months he didn't want to put them through the Goldberg experiance, but he had to do it, he couldn't risk the WrestleMania WWE Title match being taken over by Nexus, he had to make a stand.

Edge cuts him off, the cheers are deafening for Edge, for the 2nd year running he makes a triumphant swagger down to the ring, he tells Vince that while he knows the dangers of Goldberg that he did the right thing and now he is once again in the main event at WrestleMania, Vince congratulates him and wishes him luck for the Title match and tells him he needs to win this for Monday Night RAW, As Vince walks away Randy cuts him off, he tells him that while he'll be enternally grateful to Vince and Goldberg, he thinks he'll pass on John Cena and Nexus, "You see Vince, those odds aren't to great and I don't plan on leaving another WrestleMania without being the World Champion, in the last three years I've left without the title and facing Nexus wont improve that record, so thanks but no thanks Vince, I'll be facing the World Heavyweight Champion from SmackDown!" Vince is left speachless and stunned as Edge walks by him!

Michael Cole appears with a smug look on his face and tells the us that since RAW no one for John Cena at WrestleMania, Triple H will get that opportunity and the WWE Title will be safely kept within Nexus, Vince appears on the Tron and tells Cole nice try, but as the Chairman of the WWE he can overrule him even if he can't fire him, the #1 contender for the WWE Title will be determined inside the Eilination Chamber, Cole as GM has power to nominate three guys and Vince will choose the other three, Cole Cena and Triple H all go nuts at the announcement, Cole however names Wade Barrett and Triple H as his first two picks and opens one up to anyone who can sell themselves to him and the group, Orton Bourne and Jericho are McMahons picks.

Randy Orton opens up the show and asks Michael Cole for his release from Monday Night RAW, the fans look confused, he isn't though, while Cole rushes to grant him his RAW release, Orton tells Cole that he is only biding his time, Nexus will get whats coming to them, but first, he wants Edge, and the only way to do that is to sign terms with SmackDown! and win the World Title in their Elimination Chamber so he can finally get his hands on Edge who he has got plenty of unfinished business with since he was drafted to RAW all those months ago.
Cole also determines that the best guy for the job for his 3rd choice and the one who has been most impressive in his CV and in the respect he showed Nexus was none other than Sheamus, while McMahon decided that he needs more than just a one off favour from Goldberg, now that Orton has left him high and dry he has decided to put Bill Goldberg back in a WWE ring, Goldberg is the 6th and last contestant to be named for the Elimination Chamber.

The next week on RAW Goldberg makes his official return to RAW as he beats Skip Sheffield fairly convincingly then spears Otunga out of his boots and benchpresses Gabriel onto Tarver and Slater who are outside of the ring

At the Elimination Chamber, Goldberg the 4TH out his pod, he manages to destroy Sheamus and Jericho, Bourne is already Eliminated as is Barrett, the finally reaches Triple H who has been in the match since the start, the fresh Goldberg just dismantles Triple H, stands him up and hits him with 3 spears then lays him out with a Jackhammer on the steel, Goldberg drags him into the center of the ring and just puts his foot on his chest for the 123, Goldberg is the new #1 contender for John Cena's WWE Title at WrestleMania.

Over the next few weeks Goldberg and Nexus manage to one up each other, two weeks before WrestleMania Michael Cole in a bid to try and ruin the WrestleMania main event books Goldberg into a handicap Steel Cage match with Triple H and John Cena, Goldberg puts up a good fight but the two super heavyweights of Nexus get he better hand and destroy him, help arrives in the form of Jericho and Evan Bourne but the feel the wrath of the rest of Nexus and Wade Barrett in particular

On the RAW before WrestleMania its the big contract signing, Vince McMahon and Michael Cole are at ringside, there is a no contact ruling placed on both men by WWE management as to not put the Main Event in any danger although if one attacks the other the other guy can retaliate without fear of fine or suspension, after the contract signing and some smack talking, Goldberg just absolutely demolishes Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel right in front of John Cena's eyes, Cena can't do anything about it, Triple H is banned from ringside as is Chris Jericho who by this stage is backing up Goldberg and is feuding with Triple H, John Cena returns the favour to Goldberg by giving Evan Bourne an Attitude Adjustment through the table then putting the STF on him all the while focusing on Bill Goldberg, Jericho has seen enough, he races to ringside to break the STF and Triple H isn't far behind him, Triple H lays out Goldberg from behind with a Sledgehammer and as he falls he stumbles onto Cena, as Cena classes this as an attack on him he is within his contractual rights to attack Goldberg, RAW goes off air with a crazy looking Cena having Goldberg locked in the STF.

At WrestleMania, after the culmination of near on six months with John Cena on top of the WWE with Nexus, Triple H and Michael Cole to hide behind, he finally meets his match as Goldberg after a gruelling fast paced 15 minutes manages to beat him after hitting him with three Jackhammers and Goldberg wins his first ever WWE Title, the fans in WCW land go absolutely crazy as they see 'their' guy finally end the dominance of John Cena!

great idea mate,so much of it make's sense especially the ending with goldberg winning in atlanta.

loved the idea of turning the two biggest face's in the buisness heal too that woud certinly add a whole lot of shock factor to the story.infact it would be as big as hogan turning all them years ago

My views: I like the idea of the way Cena wins the title, the only problem with it seems due to HHH reputation i wouldnt see him being too happy with playing the protector up until Wrestlemania.

I feel if you gave HHH a title shot at the Chamber leading to a Cena possibly cheating to win, then tensions could grow in Nexus and lead to possibly HHH costing Cena the title at Mania to Goldberg similar to X-7. It would also allow HHH to possibly play a tweener role and lead to a triple threat at Backlash for the title.

All in all though a great read

I didn't want Goldberg winning dirty at WrestleMania though, I wanted him to finally end John Cena's reign on his own, I wanted him to be the loner badass who doesn't need anyone else, Cena is the guy who has been protected, I definitely wouldn't have Cena/Triple H in the lead up to WrestleMania either, I would want Nexus to look as strong as possible to get he maxiumum effect the defeat would create.

Anyway, the way I'd book Cena winning the title from Orton would be remincint of WrestleMania XVII with Triple H coming down to the ring to nail Cena with the Sledgehammer only for him to use it on Orton instead

Cena/Triple H faction wouldn't end at WrestleMania, as time went on and Goldberg finished up his program with Cena he would eventually go into a main event feud with Triple H and Cena would play the supporting role, its the way two big stars should interact with one another, two guys determined to keep their spot and willign to support one another as the other tries to do just that
