Visas expired on two top stars

Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett have been pulled from WWE television as their current work visas have expired and they are no longer eligible to work within the United States. In the case of Barrett, he has returned to Great Britain while he awaits a new visa to be cleared. Meanwhile, McIntyre is still believed to be in United States.

According to company sources, no timetable has been set regarding their respective returns.

This is pretty shocking to say the least, after the fiasco of Danielson it's followed up by the group's leader now possibly not returning to TV.

I thought the Drew Mcintyre no-visa thing was part of a storyline when I saw it on Smackdown.

So McIntyre's in the US as an illegal immigrant then?

That'll look good on Linda's Senate campaign, the company she's part of employing illegals with all the unemployed US wrestlers there are...

Anyone reckon WWE may look to bring Danielson back to lead the Nexus if Barrett will be off TV for a prolonged period of time?

Mean time it looks as though Slater has taken lead role of the group and in weeks to come if Barrett is off TV Otunga will be the speaker for the group.

I would expect Bryan to be kept off TV for a while until it has died down, I do think he'll be back though.

i suppose, i just think if Barrett is off TV for a while something needs to be done to keep the momentum, i suppose this could be achieved through introducing a mystery pro leader of The Nexus

I wouldn't have thought he would be off tv for a while, if he got a visa easily enough before, there shouldn't be any problems getting one now surely?

you would think not but you never know, complications do occur from time to time

how long does it take for a visa apllication to be sent revieced acepted though?

recomendations say that you should apply at least 45 days befoe your visa is due to expire, so it could be any time up to 45 days potentially, we don't know when Barrett re-applied for his Visa (if he has). He could have applied with 30 days to go and its overan and he only needs 12 days or so, but in the mean time he has to return to the UK.

Maybe its not straightforward. Didn't someone post the mug-shot recently of barrett. that could slow things up somewhat. Depending on when that was and how long his visa was for. i am just speculating.

It's pretty bad timing for this to happen especially on Wade's account. The Nexus storyline has been pretty awesome and he has definately shone through it. Hopefully then can get this issue resolved as soon as possible. And like said, without any problems.

I hope so. i suspect the WWE would be able to pull a few strings.

To follow up on our earlier report regarding the work visa issues with Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre, we're told at this point that WWE has no idea when McIntyre will be back and the hope was that Barrett would be able to return by next week but nobody knows for sure.

According to a source, WWE creative was told on Tuesday afternoon at the SD! tapings to presume both wouldn't be back until after SummerSlam in August, making things extremely tough more so for Barrett given the way he was booked as the "leader" of the NXT/Nexus group on RAW. It is possible they could both be back sooner, but that was the initial word as of today.

It should be noted that current WWE Champion Sheamus was signed by WWE around the same time as Barrett and McIntyre. The belief as of right now is that he is okay in regards to his work visa, but given the fact how things were handled with Barrett and McIntyre he could possibly be next. This is definitely causing major issues for WWE creative.

Not sure he will be seen as an illegal immigrant, he recently married Tiffany so he is married to a US Citizen, the problem is with his working visa

That is an interesting article. It surprises me that both wrestlers failed to reapply in sufficient time.

It amazes me in fact. ANyone I know working on a visa in the states knows EXACTLY when they have to get a new one.

According to a news source, can't remember where I read it now, Wade Barret has known about it expiring for a long time now, and has been talking about it for weeks, so he could be on tv within the next few weeks.
