| Watching Sky Sports News at the mo, and they're reporting Liverpool's board have opened discussions with Rafa with a view to paying him off and sacking him.
Nothing official yet, though.

| Makes sense, Fergie's mind games got to him when they were out in front 2 years ago and it's been all downhill since then. Pretty dreadful season this year when they would have been expected to be pushing for the title. Not a bad manager, but definitely needs to go somewhere else I reckon, for the benefit of both himself and the club. | |

| The Premiership just wasn't the league for him, good manager but was rotten for Liverpool, was living off Istanbul for the last five years | |

| Did Liverpool win the Champions League? Shame really, good manager but there is little life left in the team he's built, with the rise of Spurs, Man City and even Villa it'll take a lot to get that squad in a position to be league challengers again, particularly on a budget. | |

| I like him but feel that his time at Liverpool should come to an end. He has done all he can and bless him he brought the club back to the glory days of old with the CL win in 2005 and the close run premiership the other year. I for one hope we see him with another big club.
I can see him with Spain in the future or one day.

| I think he will go to Italy with Inter Milan and probably win the league first time of asking, he will probably win La Liga and maybe even the Bundesliga if he ever fancies Germany, but he just didn't have it in him to win the Premiership, managers need to not only have bottle in Britian, they need to be able to show it when the pressure is on, he crumbled like a little girl stuck on a ghost train when he needed to show his 2 years ago, his team crumbled with him | |

| I think he'd do well with Inter Milan.
He's never reallly been very good in the Premiership.
I think if Liverpool are to challenge for the league again, there needs to be a big overhall, new owners, new manager, and new players.

| I must say I was hoping and praying Liverpool would win the league that year. I mean throughout the year - Awesome. Just towards the end of the season Ferguson and his mind games came into play, I dont like Utd but hats of to Fergie he is good at the mind games, and unfortunately Rafa couldnt cope and with injuries to Gerrard and especially Torres they lost steam at exactly the wrong time. | |

| The squad on a whole is shite at the moment, descending incredibly fast into average territory.
As a Sunderland fan (who I feel are the ultimate middle of the road prem club) there really isn't too many players from Liverpool I would fancy bar the obvious two.

| I dunno Disco, I still rate Reina as a high class goalkeeper and Benayoun also puts in a good shift. Carragher is hit and miss. | |

| Not many I said. If they consider themselves a top 4 bunch then (theoretically of course ) I'd take way more Chelsea, United and Arsenal players). I'd probably also take more City, Villa and Spurs players too, that squad is poor. | |

| Ah fair enough. To be honest I dont think that Liverpool or Arsenal will make the top 4. I think they could be split by Spurs and City. Those teams have the players to do so and if they spend wisely I tip them to do so. | |

| Spurs will struggle to repeat last season, I can see City making the top 4 easy within the next two seasons but I personally can't see Arsenal dropping out because Villa appear harmless. | |

| I think Spurs will struggle to cope with the Champions League and Premiership, so unless they get knocked out early in the CL, I can see them failing to get 4th place. | |

| Spurs is a tough one, with Redknapp in charge they are capable of doing so, he can make the players believe they can, it is just a case of whether they can sell and buy in some talent. I think Spurs can do it but Arsenal will take them all the way.
Villa are defiantely a top 6 team but lack the killer punch that the teams above them have. They can beat the lower teams and pick up results against the bigger teams regularly, it is just consistancy that is their problem.

| With the World Cup on this Summer, fully expect to see more transfers into the PL as players will get "discovered" and bought for the big bucks when beforehand they wouldnt be. | |

| I think that is good though, in the next 5 years the PL will be contended by at least 5 teams, possibly with another 2 outsiders. Mark my words, the PL will be the most competitive league in the next few years.
I would say it is now but it is rivaled with Spain (Barca,Real) and Italy (Roma, Juve, Ac, Inter) granted Inter ran away with it, but you get what I mean.
