Shad Gaspard

I know this guy is seriously limited in the ring.
I also know that he has been carried by JTG for a large part of this run.

There has to be a point to the split of Crime Time, as evidenced by the furtherance of the split on this weeks WWE programming. If they weren't going to bother, then the two of them would have disappeared.

I don't like Shad as a wrestler, but I do think there is something there. What, I don't know. I would guess we were all surprised by how well JBL did in reinventing himself. Can Shad do something similar?

Its not high up on the wwe priority list, but its worth keeping an eye on.

I agree with you, he has something, not sure what it is but I've felt something has been in the offing for him since he shaved his head, it would have been nice and a good twist if Punk shaved it though

I'm hoping that the split actually gets some air-time, and WWE build Shad and JTG into a feud to launch both of them. JTG is a guy I think is quite under-rated, I'd like to see him move to Raw and face the likes of Evan Bourne, Chavo and co, before having a run at the US title.

Shad, needs to stay on Smackdown. He has improved as a performer, but whether he can be a success as a singles guy or this years Khali / Kozlov really depends on getting him over as a heel with some talent. A run with JTG would, in my opinion, help him a hell of a lot.

Its not looking good for JTG beyond that though. Which is a shame.

They have been called the sanitised version of LAX. I think the gimmick could have been a huge hit in the attitude era, but now in PG land, it was always going to be a bit lame.

I like the idea of punk having shaved his head. That would have been a very good break from what we expect from a heel turn of this nature. Which I guess is for the heel to go badass.

I can't believe I am talking about this as 12 months ago, I was sure these guys would be future endeavoured (again).

i've always thought JTG could do better, just needs to be repacked imo, good moveset and good on the mic. Could easily hold the US or IC title i reckon.

I wouldn't blame the "PG era" for the failure of Cryme Tyme, they have been on the scene since 2006 and have constantly failed to deliver

Their first promos were pretty intimidating but were quickly changed to comedy type skits. I think the attitude era would have seen them go on with the street thug type gimmick which could have been gold.

Things were toning down by 2006.

Not that much, things where still pretty intense in 2006 and 2007, McMahon was 'blown up and killed' on live TV thats hardly toning it down, it was only after Chris Benoit's double murder suicide did the WWE start toning it down

Do you not remember how edgy and bloody Orton was at New Years Revolution in 2007 or the mess Cena and Umaga where at the Royal Rumble that year

Fair point. I just didn't get why they didn't go ahead with the original plans for them.

I remember when the first time I saw them I thought it was borderline racist so perhaps that was it. But that said, its not like the McMahons to pull back from something like that.

As for why they were brought back, I don't know. They didn't particularly do anythiing with them when they did, except for their pointless urban dictionary and messing about with eve and jesse

When they came back after WM24 they did very little then entered into a nice little feud with Pricele$$ which looked like it could go somewhere, they stole the Tag Titles but gave them back that night which was a bit pointless, then it looked like they were going to form some kind of stable with Cena but that too was dropped, I've just never been into them, JTG is supposed to be the class of the two but I think Shad has a better look
