| I have just been reading an interview with RVD and in it he is asked what he would do to improve wrestling in the U.S
His reply took me a bit by surprise as it's not something I'd ever considered.
BRING BACK THE JOBBER.
Van Dam claims that people get jaded seeing Superstar v Superstar all the time and it should go back to being a special occasion match such as PPV or even a Saturday Night Main Event type deal.
Do you think that in the day's of ratings being the be all and end all there is a place for the lowly Jobber?
Personally I would welcome it. I would much rather see Shamus destroy a load of nobodys than see someone like Evan Bourne devalued because they need to make Shamus look strong.
Im not talking about all Raw/Smackdown matches switch to this format but it would be nice to see a couple on the show.

| I don't think its conceivable now to be honest, the shows are bad enough without giving jobbers more air time, besides, you do still get jobber matches weekly on ECW | |

| but what would happen to the guys that are currently acting as the jobbers (bourne, wang yang, chavo etc)
theres not enough time on ecw/superstars for all of them

| Bourne Chavo ect.... would also get jobbers to beat, it would help protect them from looking like the jobbers, the only thing is all these matches would only last about 2 minutes | |

| If WWE wanted to use jobbers then they can do it as there FCW development thingy could provide the jobbers for them. | |

| I don't want to bring back the jobber, as for one I don't think it really puts the guy over, and WWE has set the standard too high now, if we were seeing jobber matches every week people would complain and I think it would make the product even worse.
I think you can still lose a match while looking strong, just sometimes WWE don't utilise that and end up squashing real talent.

| I dunno. I remember starting to watch wrestling back in the early 1990's, and all the matches were squashes, with 2 big names colliding in the main event. It all got a bit repetitive, to be honest, the stars would run through virtually the same routine every time, with no offense from the jobber. The one time it was reversed and the 1-2-3 Kid beat razor Ramon, it was a real stunning moment.
At least with WWE the way it is now, the quality of match can be pretty damned good. You don't get that with jobbers. The other crucial thing is back in the day, the fans were massively into a lot of the wrestlers - even mid-carders had some semblance of charisma. I just can't see the likes of Chris Masters or Finlay being able to sustain any kind of crowd interest in pounding a jobber.

| I miss the jobbers as some of them were well known too such as Brooklyn Brawler and TNA's Shark Boy but I agree with invincibleILeak none of the companies really need jobbers at the moment. | |

| I remember Jeff Hardy beating Razor when he was a jobber when Goldust interfered from outside with a picture he was holding or something to that effect anyway | |

| I think they should bring back some belts, or just create new ones, only about 5 superstars go for each title on each roster, I much prefered it when every wreslter tried for the belt, bring back hardcore 24/7! | |

I agree MaryseRKO but if they brought the hardcore title back then they need to drop the whole PG thing or we will see the hardcore title matches being fought using inflatible mallets and them oversized cotton buds from Gladiators which will be as crap as the Celebrity Wrestling we had over here (not the Hulk one the UK one that had Z-List celebs and little wrestling). BTW I think they should bring back the Cruiserweight title too.
