Possible huge Tag Team on way to WWE!

Mark and Jay Briscoe had an informal tryout at last night's WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings in Philadelphia.

Am very surprised by this, the tag division in WWE is dead and buried at present with only two 'proper' tag teams about. An injection of a team like the Briscoes could revitalise it and possibly pave the way for more (MCMG I hope!)

In my opinion, they are THE best tag team in wrestling today. Could be great in WWE, provided they are willing to back them and the division as a whole. They've kinda booked themselves into a hole they can't get out of with puting the titles on Jericho and Big Show, as no tag team on the roster other than DX could be realistically seen as a threat to the titles. Hopefully this works out for The Briscoes, although I have no faith in WWE booking tag team wrestling anymore, and they've likely already earmarked one of The Briscoes as a singles performer (most likely Jay) and the other a dud to be released once they split the team a few months from now.

The only reason Jericho is a tag champ just now is to keep him on RAW and SD

I would love to see these two in the WWE, they are two guys who could realistically reinvigorate the tag division

I dream of the day that WWE take the tag division seriously again. It amazes me that a company who's brought through stars like Bret Hart, HBK, Jeff Hardy, Edge etc all from a long build up in tag teams that they fail to push the next gen of tag teams.
With the Hart Dynasty and hopefully the Briscoes then it's a start.

They'll get offered a contract, WWE will drag their feet and they'll end up on TNA.

Hope they are smart and go to TNA (not cause i think TNA is better) but they are to good of a tag team to go to WWE were the tag team division is dead atm at least in TNA they have some competition

Would be good for them for the pay but the tag division needs to improve greatly for them to have a good run if they do sign. It is a bit depressing to see how the tag division used to be and what it is today.

Or worse, they'll sign them and then send them to developmental to 'learn how to wrestle the WWE way'.

As reported earlier, former Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers received tryouts with WWE prior to last Tuesday's SmackDown/ECW taping in Philadelphia. The brothers Briscoe are currently under contract to ROH and were granted permission to tryout. In an update on the situation, WWE officials were impressed with their tryout and they have been called back to tryout again for further evaluation.

After impressing WWE management at a tryout before the last set of ECW and Smackdown tapings in Philadelphia, the Briscoe Brothers (Mark and Jay) were invited to a week long tryout in Florida. The Briscoes have completed the tryout, which ROH knew about, and now they wait to see if they are offered a deal.

Jeezo, just take a look at their massive catalogue of matches, if they need a try out then fair enough, but another one? they are the best team in America, have been for a long time, I doubt Vince asked the Road Warriors to 'try out'

These days though, it doesn't matter what you've done elsewhere, unless you've previously been in the WWE then you need to prove yourself all over again.

Agree, but what I'm saying is that their is footage a plenty out their about what they have done, its not like they are a mystery

I hope (if they get signed) that they are used properly. As in I hope they have a good run together in WWE and not split up to have a feud together like the do with so many tag teams

True, but I don't think that would be considered enough evidence for WWE to hire them. In their mind they might just look good in the indy setting, and need to see if they could work a style more akin to the WWE product. Not saying I agree with that, far from it, but I reckon that's most likely the way they think.
