I'm hoping its not true, since Paul Hartley and Evander Sno are with them I've been looking out for their results this season, Maynard has been playing well

it would probably be better if he could get them up with his goals and finish top scorer

ideally he stays in jan ends up top scorer and commands a big fee after they just miss out on promotion.

I cant help but think though, Jason scotland and nicky maynard might be quite a good partnership, always thought scotland was a risk for the prem but i dont think he has done too badly so far. not seen enough though.

Scotland does look a player, he was up here in the SPL and couldn't get a game for Dundee Utd, by the time it came to giving him a new contract United couldn't get a work permit for him but they would give him one if he dropped down a league to St Johnstone, as soon as he done that his career really kicked off, scored a few goals in two years with St Johnstone then another two years at Swansea, I was hoping we might have went in for him in the Summer, the boys a player

I think Maynard's like a lot of strikers - looks good at Championship level, playing a for a good side that are creating a lot of chances, but if he went up to the Premiership, I think he'd struggle.

I think the problem for guys who do well in the Championship is that they play for teams who score goals and make chances, when they sign for a Premiership club its usually one that is struggling to do both

Will all depend on the clubs interested.

there is still a chance that a bigger club wants to invest in england youth, I know its a long shot but manchester utd could want an owen understudy who has league experiance.

Doubt it to be honest, look at the strikers Man Utd have signed, they will see Machida and Wellbeck as better than Maynard already, Campbell couldn't even get a sniff at Old Trafford, his best chance would be to go to Aston Villa or maybe an Everton in my opinion

grecian you think city get a lot of chances? think again. sexton your right he can score from nothing this season (he couldn't last season.) he's actually taking chances and taking people on this season, really dont think we can afford to lose him.

get varney in and he will stay, they are just about the best partnership in league football, would eat up the championship.

I know varney has done no where near as well as he could have since moving from crewe, but him and maynard together were epic.

Would have loved to have seen it in the championship and we would have done if crewe could have defended because between them they scored enough for an average team to get promoted to the championship lol

hands off is all i can say Gary Johnson is aiming for the prem and with that you need settled strikers is what we have found hard to find, Maynard also has youth on his side, for someone his age he has alot of composure on the ball but still all the finishing capabilities, we cannot afford to lose him, read is scouts review (Mail) that he would be valued at 3.5m i hope for Bristol City's sake 3.5m we could laugh at as Maynard is crucial to City, hopefully Nicky can see how far City have come on and that we are 5th in the championship is a sign that we can push for promotion soon and that he will get his chance in the prem as a leading striker for the team. i would love to see Nicky play alongside someone like Darius Henderson.

thing is, bristol will never settle in the prem, at most they will yoyo.

most likely though one season wonder if that. think norwich of late.

nicky would be suited to someone more midtable safe prem future, fulham, wigan etc.

you never know though, the year we got to the play off final (with a league 1 squad) we beat all the teams who got promoted and i dont think we lost to any of them (bar the play off final itself) and we have greatly improved our team so i reckon we could easily do it tbh

sustaining premiership is not a walk in the park, you have to spend about 30 million and I just dont think you have enough key players to add to for the premier lague, just my opinion though, you see them most weeks.

thing is though we have a foundation of players now and in our play off season it emerged that our chairman would have given Johnson 40m to spend on new players (our chairmain co-owns a company, which he recently sold some of his stake in to fund our potential new stadium)

cant just spend 40 million though, need the desire, and if its made public ul spend 40 million, people will add on 2 million plus to the price that isnt deserved

be good if you go up to see how you do, burnley seem to be doing ok purely based on home form.

was just saying to how you said you needed 30m to survive, but yeh Johnson wouldnt buy with an inflated price, people said the 2.25 we spent on Nicky seemed OTT for someone who didnt have great experience at the level he would be playing but its turned out a treat, Paul Hartley on a free, Gerken was under 1m and Clarkson 750k all recent examples of Johnson knowing how much a player is worth.

i also think it would be good if we get promoted
