| – Following Monday’s Raw, one spot remains for Team Raw for the WWE Bragging Rights Tag Team Match at WWE Bragging Rights. The remaining spot was tabbed for Mark Henry, and may still be, but he missed the show because his brother is in a coma after suffering a stroke last week.
- WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:
Undertaker Possibly Losing at WrestleMania: “The WWE is filled with highly intelligent people which is another reason that I don’t feel that the Undertaker will ever lose at a Wrestlemania event. When I say never, I mean never. What a magnificent card one can keep in one’s pocket to play at the biggest event of the year where so much is measured and defined. The Undertaker’s ‘streak’ at Wrestlemania is like a franchise unto itself.”
AJ Styles/Shawn Michaels Comparison: “I think AJ Styles is a great in ring talent, perhaps even underutilized, but he is not better at this time than was HBK in Shawn’s prime. That’s not a knock on Styles even though some will take it as such. To even compare AJ to HBK should be looked upon as high praise.”
Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez: “Even though Velásquez brings an undefeated record into Cain’s biggest MMA fight of his life and is seemingly carrying the Hispanic fan base on his broad shoulders, I’m still a ‘Lesnar guy’ and feel that Brock can retain his title in what should be a classic on October 23 in Anaheim.”
– According to the Pro Wrestling Torch, there is conflicting discussion as to whether World Wrestling Entertainment will unify the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXVII. While it was a big topic of conversation a few weeks ago, a well-placed source is skeptical as to whether company officials will follow through with the idea.
- The toxicology results are in for former WWE performer Luna Vachon.
The District Six Medical Examiner’s office in Florida found that Luna died from an accidental overdose of painkillers and anti-anxiety medication.
TMZ.com reports that the 48-year-old wrestler had oxycodone and benzodiazepine in her system when she died in her Florida home back in August.
Shortly after her death, it was reported that investigators found crushed pill residue and snorting straws at multiple locations inside Luna’s house.
Luna’s ashes were scattered last month at the late Andre The Giant’s ranch in North Carolina. | |
