| Anyone else start laughing when Jeff started bragging to CM Punk that he'd never been to rehab in his life?
Jeffrey, if you remember, WWE fired you for not going to rehab - not excatly something you want to boast about...

| I really don't get this angle, I understand it, but don't get it, they are playing on the fact that Jeff is a chain smoking alcoholic junkie (I'm sure he isn't that bad) who has no wish to live a clean and healthy life and the kids are directed to cheer and support for this guy, a guy who is a clean living heath freak who lives his life in a way most parents would want their child to live is the one who is booed if he questions the integrity of the abuser
What I don't get is, that in this day and age where the WWE are desperate to be seen as family orientated they choose to promote Jeff's way of life as somewhat cool, it'd be different if Jeff was battling his demons and trying to clean himself up (which he looks to have done) however they are not coming across as him doing that, he seems proud to have used drugs which is what I find confusing

| If anything the promo kinda promoted drug use - Jeff used drugs for years, hasd Wellness violations, but has never needed rehab (which is utter bullshit, the end of his first WWE run and all you see is crystal meth). Therefore, doesn't it insinuate that you can take drugs, and you'll be ok and not need rehab? Jeff did it, so why can't you..?
I can see why they went with Jeff for the CM Punk turn, he's waaay over with the fans and for another big face in Punk to turn, a big face was needed, and it's good to see Punk being booked as Jeff's equal, compared to his last world title run. The other thing I have a problem with in this angle is the repeated drug talk in connection with Jeff - his contract is up very shortly, I'm not sure if he's signed a new one or not, and surely all this is going to make Jeff think 'Why the fuck should I bother?'? Regal's also had 2 violations, but that never gets mentioned. Jeff on the other hand...

| I thought it was quite funny when he said AND YEH! IVE NEVER BEEN TO REHAB! its like "yes thats why you are in the same cycle and cant pack it in" acting like he didnt need rehab to beat his addiction but he clearly needed rehab hence his 5 actual strikes, 2 since he got rehired.
im sure half the fans were thinking urgh do we still cheer jeff when he panders or not, the live crowd was utter shite on smackdown too anyway, dead through the whole show. (or was that raw, one show the crowd were proper lifeless)

| Regal never gets pushed to the moon though, if Regal was the lead heel on ECW then you might hear Christian give him slight digs, I agree with you though Grec, thats the point I was getting at, they are promoting drug use, like I said, if they where going down the road of Jeff doing all that and coming out the other end then it would be fine, but with Jeffs "I don't give a damn" attitude it does send out the wrong message | |

| The fact is, if you fail two wellness tests then you do have to go to rehab, either that or you get sacked, Jeff got sacked first time around, its just happened to Umaga, as for the contract situation, Jeff has NEVER confirmed or denied his departure! | |

| Young children will always think that smoking, drinking, and drugs are cool. that's the way most 10 - 15 year olds think in this country. WWE isn't attempting to change the morals of an entire society, they're simply playing towards it. Jeff's a face because he does what he wants, and punk's a square for listening to his health teacher. | |

| Don't agree with you one bit, you can't have wrestlers saying "Just say no" which the WWE have done for years, then have one of the top two babyfaces in the country being proud of the fact he is a drug abuser | |

| obviously openly endorsing drugs would be bad, if not terrible for the companies image. This being said, WWE has almost always had faces that endorse somthing, even the company doesn't openly.
For instance, Stone Cold Steve Austin, arguably the most popular face wrestler ever. He wasn't a face because he played by the rules, and did what his boss asked without issue. He beat the crap out of his boss, and at least one held a gun to his head. Was WWE advocating taking your boss hostage? No. But did it make stone cold all the move over? Yes.
Or take a few years ago, where Maria poised for playboy. Is WWE advocating that all young girls should make it their life goal to pose for playboy? No. But did she become a more over face for doing it? Yes.
Is WWE advocating for children to use drugs? No. But will Jeff be more over at the end of this feud? That remains to be seen.

Completely different times, if you bothered to read, you would see why we have went down this road, the fact remains that the WWE are supposed to be pandering to kids yet on of he two most over guys in the company is seemingly proud to be a drug abuser, in Austins time it was all about the shock value! obvious difference!

So do you know for certain this wasn't behind the WWE's motive? whens the last time the WWE employed a diva who doesn't look like a model? that to me suggests they are advocating that to be apart of the WWE you have to have that similar slut look! As for becoming more over, seriously get real, she was almost immediately drafted to SD after her photoshoot and has done very little in the 13 months since still don't let the truth get in the way of our argument ehhh

Shut Up! Your basically saying that while the WWE are not openly admitting so, they are happy for Jeff to endorse drug abuse Absolutely the most idiotic post I've ever read!

It wasn't about Maria wanting to show all the kids watching that getting your baps out is a cracking way to get mid-card obscurity.

| my examples merely serve to show that while WWE doesn't openly endorse various unlawful things, they're more than willing to have a face do them if it's popular at the time. | |
