| -- Shane Sewell has issued his first public comments regarding his departure from TNA Wrestling in a blog on his Facebook account. Takes shot's at Booker T and the Legend's title... https://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=56202562165&topic=8520&ref=mf - Shane Sewell, 11:20 on 25 May 2009 wrote:
- Hello to everyone,
Apologies for the silence the past few months, but there really hasn’t been much to report on until now.
As I am sure that most of you have read or heard over the past weekend, I am no longer working with TNA Wrestling. There’s really not too much to tell you other than my contract with TNA was up for renewal, and unfortunately we just couldn’t come to amicable terms for a new deal. Both sides really did try to make it work.
It was just business, and no painful behind-the-scenes drama.
TNA has some great people in the company, and it was a pleasure having the opportunity to work with some of the best talent in the business today.
As for my time with TNA, I have to tell you that having the opportunity to work with Earl Hebner was one of the greatest experiences of my entire career. I absolutely loved every minute of working as a referee alongside Earl and the rest of the guys. It gave me the chance to experience the matches in an entirely new way. I leave with such great memories, and knowing that I am forever indebted to Earl for sharing his years of knowledge and experience with me. Thank you Earl.
So what’s next??? Well to start with, I am going to be working regularly back in my beautiful adopted homeland of Puerto Rico. A place where I don’t need a cheap knock-off belt to be called a legend. A country where my years of blood, sweat and tears for the wrestling business and it’s fans have already EARNED that legends status for me. A place where I can’t wait to go toe-to-toe with some of the visiting “Main-Eventers” while they’re away from the safety of their network TV script-writers and back room politics… Can you dig THAT???
I promise to keep updating my web sites more regularly from now on, and to let you all know first about any breaking news. Thank you to each and every one of you for all of the fantastic email and messages of good will. I will never forget your incredibly kind words, ever.
Anyway, be sure to keep watching Impact!, WWC Superstars, RAW, and all of the other wrestling programs, and please keep supporting the professional wrestling business!
Aquí está al futuro! Shane.

| I'm pretty confident Booker could take Shane if things got heated between the two. Plus, Booker has done more in TNA than Sewell will probably achieve in his own career.
Anyone know why the decision was made for Sewell to wrestle in TNA, I would have stayed as a ref, kept my (I presume fairly well paid) job or either GTFO and go back to the indies which he gets paid less for doing more work. Would he be more wanted by indy bookers now after his short stint as a wrestler on TV or would his value not have changed?

| I dont think this is a dig at Booker though , of course he uses his cacthprase but they way he relates it to the rest of the paragrpah i read it like Booker is already a legend and why do they need to give him a belt to prove it when hes won so many titles in wcw and wwe . | |

| I couldn't stand him as either a ref or wrestler, but apparently he is big down Mexico way. I was watching a Vampiro shoot a while ago and he said something similar about hsi time in WCW, that all the politicking with Nash (name drop lol) indered his career with WCW and while he was getting paid alot less than Nash, atc, him, Konnan and a few other's that had been big down South could draw twice as much as Nash and the other 'top guy's' back then.
Sour grapes methink's.

| I'm glad they let sewell go he wasn't a good wrestler and looked completly out of place against booker. What is the Legends title supposed to be a mid card title or something?Anyway i don't think TNA has a big enough roster to have 3 singles belts. | |

I doubt Sewell had the luxuary of a choice, he was probably told he had to wrestle and it was the begining of the end for his TNA career

| He was probably only brought in as a ref for that story, he is a wrestler, and like Foley said, every now and then a wrestler wrestles, it would be daft to bring a wrestler who suposibly was as big as he was abroad and just use him as a ref. | |
