How big would you say the gulf between Championship and League 1 is, both your clubs have been there and both have got relegated unforunatly.

Just really shitting myself now cos i dont think, unless the gulf is massive that, without investment which wont come anytime soon, we wont get back up unless League 1 is shit.

Just looking for reassurance really but these really are bad times for teams without Prem money

As a Bristol City fan I saw the difference in class when we made the championship. the football was faster and more fluent. But that suited city as we like to try playing the passing game at times (which we stopped doing this season meaning a mediocre finish). Norwich should come straight back up but only if they are prepared to win ugly. (although all league 1 football is ugly lol)

its just differant football, need to be fit and strong, which is why we failed cos alla our players were not fit enough to play hard for 90 minutes every 3-4 days.

We played our best games vs championship clubs last year in the cups, because championship football is what our players were in essence made for.

This is why we are now looking to buy and steal athletic footballers who will get stuck in, to try and get back to league one.

Key area in league one is midfield, if you can boss midfeild you are sorted (in theory, as you still have to pout chances away)

championship you need experience players as well hence why ex prem players have done so well there ala kevin phillips ,sheerignham e.t.c

The lower leauges 1 and 2 you can win it with younger faster slower players like gillingham for instance there full of pace and 8 in the 11 were non leauge not so long ago.

Championship like sexton said you need more strength and mentality. I think leauge one will be more championship like this year to be honest so im worried we need to buy.

I doubt you'll have to buy too heavily as we have five or six players that are real Championship quality and we are 7/4 to got up, everyone else we will buy/ have is League 1 quality, hopefully we invest in youth that develops quick.

Been looking on a lot of forums talking to other people and i am more reasured now, but i have noticed a lot of people are backing Gillingham to get a playoff place, personally i have no idea how good you are but others seem to think you're one of the better teams in the League.

I hate May/ June though, no footy and no signings, so boring need to get the league underway!

good news, think its a good place to buy and nick players from, esp ones who miss out on promotion and are the best in their teams (liek top 3-4 at winning conferance clubs)

another major diffrence leauge one and two defences are poor so a bit of pace and there done for as there defenders on most team spend more time attacking

we will have the fastest player in the league 2 if he stays

infact, donaldson, moore, grant = WIN be like villa of league 2 but as our manager is now sane, hes bought an ATHLETIC CB who says main quality is pace, power and desire

I think we could walk the league if we sign a few more athletic players
