Jim Ross wrote about the situation in his latest JRsBarBQ.com blog, "Rey Mysterio got banged up by a very physical Shelton Benjamin in a match that will air Thursday night," Ross said on JRsBarBQ.com. "Benjamin's aggression banged up the IC Champion to the level that Rey was unable to make much of an impact on Friday Night Smackdown but somehow the incredible Mysterio does manage to put his unique stamp on Friday night's show." Ross added that Rey's Intercontinental title defense against Chris Jericho this Sunday at Judgment day is "definitely still on" and he expects that "it will likely be a viable candidate for match of the PPV."

Rey Injured? Never

A more aggressive Shelton sounds pretty damned promising too. Add that to his out-of-ring display on last weeks Smackdown, I'm almost starting to get hopeful about him.

My thoughts exactly, Jim Ross loves Benjamin, or at least thats how it always seems to come across, he really needs a decent to long feud with The Undertaker when he comes back, at least if he is going to hard at times Taker can pop him one to let him know, Shelton should be aggressive though, he is an all American, a big Jock, thats what they do

Rey is one of the most over superstars with the fans especially the kids who love him. He gives them a way into the Hispanic community, plays the underdog role well and as Fergie says Rey = money. Why on earth would Vince release him?

Also-, injury or not, he has been the performer of the year so far, apart from his little feud with JBL every match he has been involved in has been gold
