| Towards the end of the WWE RAW live show last night in Dublin, Ireland, the lights went out and The Undertaker's bell went off. WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel then announced that WWE's tour of Europe next April in 2010 would be a part of The Undertaker's retirement.
It seems unusual that WWE would announce something as big as the retirement of one of their biggest stars at a live event but two different fan reports from the show say the same thing. If we hear anything else, we will definitely pass it on.

| Well for me that sounds plausible, I thought for a while that the Undertaker would retire at Suvivor Series 2010 exactly 20 years after his debut | |

| Seems very strange that they would make such a huge announcement at a house show in another country? Any news on whether WWE have made the same announcement during their house show in other countries? Probably announced it to generate as much interest as they can for next year's tour.
If this is true, which I highly doubt, then I will certainly be trying to get tickets for next April's shows, be interesting to see what they do?

| I don't doubt it, I think its true!
It makes sense that they announce it as well, this is the first leg of their oversees tour and the UK and Ireland will be their first stops next year too, so it makes sense they are selling it at the house shows, not going to announce it on TV!
Bet the same will be said tonight tomorrow and Sunday!

| Yeah it's probably true, don't see any point in them making it up. Good to see a legend leave the business while he is still in top form, and not tarnish their reputation with years of sub-par performances. | |

| I think if The Undertaker went out on top it would solidify him as one of the all time greats if he is not already considered that.
The one thing that bugs me with Flair is that he didn't call it a day when WCW went burst, sure he was apart of Evolution and to be fair to Flair (pun intended) it was a rousing success but after that he basically killed time until Michaels Super kicked him at Mania 24
He held on and held on, and even now you see Sting doing the same, yea they can still captivate the audiance like Sting did with his promo with Angle a few months ago, but its cutting it in the ring thats the problem these days
The Undertaker proved at WrestleMania XXV he can still have the best matches on the biggest stage yet he is a broken down guy, if he calls it a day at the top then full respect to him!

| Yeah Flair is the prime example of somebody clinging on for too long. Sting has declined also, although he can still put on a decent match so long as he isn't having to work through injuries, but surely this is his last year? So many guys just seem to love wrestling so much, that they can't bring themselves to walk away, I think Angle is going to be the same way too. | |

| The reason I thought it was strange and un-true is because surely this could potentially make Undertaker's final storyline/matches predictable, if you understand what I am trying to say. It seems like they have finally set a date for his retirement so everyone will have an idea of who his final opponent will be and if a stipulation is put on his final match, how he will leave. It's hard to put across what I am thinking but basically, doesn't this potentially reveal WWE's plans for the remainder of Taker's career?
And when, not if, he is inducted into the HOF, how will they do it? Have him appear as normal Mark Callaway?
EDIT: I've just had a thought, Paul Bearer will probably appear on behalf of Undertaker during the HOF ceremony when the lights go out, the gongs strike and one of those weird Undertaker promos appear on the screen, however Taker doesn't appear in person.
I also think Kane is due for a push because of this news, I can either see Kane and Taker having one last feud for a world championship or one of them screwing the other out of the title.

| When Taker is inducted into the hall of fame I'm sure he will come out as Mark Callaway and not The Undertaker, these things are never done in character | |

I think this will be Stings last year, I actually think thats why he has had such a long run with the World Title as well, come the night of Lockdown he will have matched his longest ever World Title reign!

| There have been 4 dates for the November UK tour posted on wwe.com.
Two of them are "DX Invasion" tour house shows in Butlins, Minehead and the Echo Arena in Liverpool respectively. The other ones are RAW and Smackdown/ECW TV tapings taking place in Sheffield???!
There are rumours about other shows taking place in Cardiff and Belfast but no information on wwe.com yet.
Also, there are rumours of shows for Germany in November being called the "Undertaker Rest In Peace" tour although there are other rumours saying the name of the tour could have been mistaken and it is really called the "Undertaker Rest In Pieces" tour? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This all sounds very confusing but suggests that both Shawn Michaels and Undertaker could be retiring within the year? Maybe even Triple H as well considering the planned "DX Reunion" tour?
All I know for sure is that I want tickets for all 4 TV tapings in November and April plus a few house shows lol!

| I thought it was just house shows in Sheffield first but it does appear to be TV tapings? If they were going to move it out of London, I would have thought they would have considered cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool etc. Be interesting to see what they show on those promos of the city, Hillsborough maybe? (that wasn't a cheap joke BTW. in case anyone thinks it was, don't know much about Sheffield landmarks, could only think of Hillsborough or possibly Bramall Lane lol)
Tickets go on sale next Saturday at 9am BTW.

WWE will be running one of their European tours in November under the name "Undertaker's Rest In Peace Tour."
WWE.com has the retirement tour listed under Germany's schedule of events as "WWE SmackDown & ECW Present Undertaker's Rest In Peace Tour."
The tour dates are as follows:
* Thursday, Nov 5 WWE SmackDown & ECW Present Undertaker's Rest In Peace Tour - Frankfurt, Germany 8:00pm
* Wednesday, Nov 11 WWE SmackDown & ECW Present Undertaker's Rest In Peace Tour - Stuttgart, Germany 8:00pm
* Thursday, Nov 12 WWE SmackDown & ECW Present Undertaker's Rest In Peace Tour - Leipzig, Germany 8:00pm
* Friday, Nov 13 WWE SmackDown & ECW Present Undertaker's Rest In Peace Tour - Hamburg, Germany 7:00pm I think its true now they've given it a name and have started selling tickets to it

| Yeah, I don't think a tour called Undertaker Rest in Peace neccesarily means he's retiring. It's his most famous catchphrase.
I wouldn't be suprised if he does retire next year, in fact I hope he does. The longer he holds on, the less respect people will have for him. I guess he'll end up working backstage helping out the younger talent after he retires rather than having an on-screen role.

| Nah I can't see it, although I think he might call it a day next year at the Survivor Series 2010, that would mark the 20th anniversary of his debut, so his 'farewell tour' could last around 6/7 months until the Survivor Series | |

How original. At least they haven't had a proper feud for 5 years, be better than seeing Orton vs Triple H or Cena vs Edge AGAIN. Even if this is a crap idea (not in my mind lol) Kane is still due a small push and I definately think Taker's last opponent should be Kane. EDIT: By the way, is anyone thinking of going to the UK tour in November and/or April. I think house shows are better to go to live than TV tapings although I have always wanted to go to a live show as well? My current plans are to see a Smackdown/ECW house show and the RAW TV tapings. I may change my mind and do it the other way around or see two house shows or two TV tapings, I'm not sure lol!
