Xbox One – £429 - Out November.

The Xbox One will be releasing worldwide - across 21 markets – this November, confirming the Rare director’s earlier slip-up announcement.

The console will be priced at $499, $499 Euros or £429 here in the UK. That’s quite a hefty price, but means that November will continue to be the busiest release month for games.

There’s no exact date – we’ll get that later – but it’ll be interesting to see when the PS4 launches, there could be quite a stir if it’s in the same timeframe. There will also be a “Day One” edition, though there are next to no details for what this includes as of yet.

Battlefield 4 Multiplayer Unveiled

Battlefield 4′s multiplayer was unveiled at EA’s E3 conference today, with a particularly impressive battle played out with 64 players on PC. No doubt we’ll see similar spectacles on console, but that’s for another time.

The demo featured a map set in a city bay and showed off all the aspects of the air, land and sea battles which the game is set around. A lot of vehicles were on show, from boats to jet skis and attack helicopters to tanks, as a five man team ventured into the city.

That’s an extra man per squad, and in some regard seems to tie in with commander mode, which returns from previous games. The commander can see the overall battle and is able to play via a tablet by utilising Battlelog’s presence on mobile platforms, making BF4 part of the current trend of ever connected gamers.

But the real “WOW!” moment came right at the end, as the five man team moved up into a skyscraper on one side of the bay, and spotted tanks below trying to take down the building. A quick call to the commander later, and a missile was inbound to take them out.

All too late, it seems, as the building tilted to one side before collapsing into the water moments after the squad hit the ground.

It was a very impressive show of destruction, which tied in with being able to take out support pillars under a road, demonstrated earlier in the level, and points towards a map which really brings out the ability to destroy everything. This has been a hallmark of the Battlefield series, but at times had jarring omissions, such as being unable to pull down a key building.

Xbox Live General Manager, Mark Whitten, has outlined a suite of online features players can expect later this year on Xbox One.

The first is something which was touched upon at last year’s expo: SmartGlass. Built natively into each Xbox One console, the wireless service transmits live data and other useful information directly to your tablet or mobile device. Information such as achievements, friend stats and leaderboards are constantly refreshed. Microsoft showed a brief demo with Ryse.

Next, we caught a glimpse of some one-on-one action in Rare’s Killer Instinct. After getting hammered by one of the game’s producers Xbox One demonstrators used the all-new “Upload Studio” feature to post the footage on Xbox Live. This footage had been automatically stored using the Xbox One’s “Game DVR” system.

If that wasn’t enough, Microsoft also announced a partnership with streaming service, Twitch.TV. Simply saying “Xbox- broadcast” will start a live stream that can be viewed by fellow gamers around the globe.

Whitten also confirmed the retirement of Microsoft Points. Gold users will no longer have to do a double-take every time they purchase digital content; local currencies will be used instead.

Finally, Xbox Live Gold will be shareable between multiple users in one household, “even multiplayer”.

Dead Rising 3 Announced Exclusively for Xbox One

Los Peridos, California and it’s three days into the worldwide outbreak in Capcom’s Dead Rising 3, another Xbox One exclusive. Yup, it’s another zombie game, but continuing on with Dead Rising’s on-the-fly zombie combat.

There’s a big open world city with no load times, but also filled with the density of a real city… oh, and lots and lots and lots of zombies.

Ryse: Son of Rome Is An Xbox One Launch Title

The game was initially announced at E3 2011 as a Kinect-only title, but much has changed since then – it seems like a much more God of War-esque hack and slash title which can be played with the controller.

There was also a QTE-filled gameplay demo with some nice formation battling up on-stage, which you can now view below.

EA Detail NBA Live 14, Madden 25 and FIFA 14 on X1 and PS4

EA went into a little more depth on their new sports games and the Ignite engine for next generation consoles, starting with some rather impressive graphics on show for NBA Live 14, atop some… poetry? I think it was poetry.

Apparently dribbling is important, says Kyrie Irving, the guest basketball star on stage, and this is coming in with bounceTek. This brings realistic ball control to the game, by treating the ball as a truly separate entity. Additionally, player stats will be pushed over the internet on an hourly basis, allowing for people to play with the most up to date data possible.

Madden 25 then came up, showing off the new True Step animation system, making each step every player takes plant more accurately. Alongside this, Player Sense is introduced as a new AI system, letting players spot gaps and exploit them on the attack, or close them down as a real team in defence.

FIFA will be getting the same treatment, with improved AI and animation coming to the next generation to a somewhat greater extent and higher fidelity than what has been shown for current machines. Pro Instincts has AI spotting the exact moves at the right moments, whilst Precision Movement is held in common with the current gen. There will also be fully 3D crowds, with emotions finally shown by player’s faces.

Really this is all tying into EA’s aim with the Ignite engine. Higher resolution and quality graphics across the board, bringing to life the improved AI, physics and animation systems which really make use of the horsepower that can be found in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

EA UFC Details Are Here

Dana White, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones and Ben Henderson have came onto the EA E3 conference stage to officially unveil the first details of the new UFC title, the first one since THQ lost the license in 2012.

EA UFC will use a system called MMAi to give much better feedback when strikes and every submission hold will be improved allowing for more variety in how to escape different holds.

EA UFC will be releasing in Spring 2014.

And it plays used games for fuck all, unlike the Xbox.

I'm actually thinking about getting a PS4 now...

plays used games but you still have to pay for the online pass like you have to on a ps3 game.

im going to get a PS4 then later down the line get the xbox like i did last time i got Ps3 on the launch then December last year got a 360
